One of the things I love about this movie is the pure lack of empathy. A lot of movies (not all, but many) have their villians show bits and pieces of empathy at times. Which is realistic, but unfortunately often causes their audience to end up sympathizing with and even defending their villians, espeically when it wasn't the purpose. Heathers pretty much keeps their villians clear cut, no empathy. It leaves no room for you to even attempt to make excuses for them. We see here, even when Veronica, Heather Duke's 'supposed' old friend, is clearly beat up, bruised, burned and has blood all over the place, all Duke has to say is 'you look like hell'. Not even a 'shit what happened?'
