Omg! Thanks for saving me $140 for assembly! As a 52 y/o woman, I put this together in just under an hour. Your directions were super easy (didn’t even look at the included instructions). I’m ready to ride!
We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.
I did it! I was able to easily assemble my bike with the help of this video. One word of advice is to make sure the lever is facing out when installing the handlebars. Since I am short, I adjusted the handlebars close to the seat, tightly screwed in all the other paraphernalia, and realized I could not move the lever. Faced with unscrewing everything and going back several steps, I realized I could remove the screw and spring from the lever and move everything forward. It's all good to go and I'm thrilled I was to do this myself. The video is much easier to follow than the manual. Thank you!
I purchased my bike based solely on your real-life comparison reviews of this bike verse the other on the market. I am a novice indoor biker and you pointed out some things that I would have never known I liked as far as options on this bike without our review. I clicked on the like in the description box to purchase my bike and I am more than confident that this purchased was well worth my money. And the build quality is amazing.
I kept hearing how the instructions were lacking and the assembly can be confusing etc etc. Well I must admit. I haven’t even opened the instructions. I didn’t even look at them. I opened the box. Took all the pieces in my basement and then looked at this video and put it together with no problems at all. Well done video, sir. It was very helpful and was reassuring. I also enjoy all your other videos and it was a major reason I chose the IC4. I almost went with the Sole SB900 or Stryde but figured for long term this was best. No need to worry about a company going out of business making their ecosystem useless. No need in worrying about a monitor going bad. Just a well built machine with the option to hook in via a tablet. I think I might use an iPad to mirror to a large Roku TV. Thanks again!
You saved Christmas! The bike has been sitting in pieces for weeks because I didn’t understand the directions. Finally occurred to me to look on TH-cam. Thank you so much for posting this!
I've never put anything together and I don't read directions. This video is clear and to the point. I put this IC4 bike together in about an hour an 1 hour and the bike rides perfectly smooth. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT VIDEO.
Hey man, just wanted to say thank you. I know nothing about cycling. I’m an ex college football player who spent his time lifting weights instead of doing cardio. Years have passed and it’s time to lose weight and be healthy. I ended up purchasing the IC4 and you helped me feel satisfied in my purchase over the peloton. Keep up the good work!
I purchased this bike based on your thorough reviews and comparisons. It’s set to arrive today and I’m watching this video and just getting so excited! I’m pleased with my decision 😊 thank you so much!!!
Watched the ic4 build Just purchased the c6 from Bowflex. Followed your video and had it built in 35 minutes. Thanks for your step by step tutorial. Steve
This was perfect to help me set up my IC4. I didn't think the documentation was that helpful. A few of the screw holes were just hard to deal with - for the accessories. Ipad holder was a mess to get the screws back in and the screws for the console were pretty awkward. Looking forward to trying it out. Thanks for the step by step - I really appreciate it.
I assembled my new IC4 today after watching your video. It was so much help. Only issue was mounting the water bottle holders with those small screws and Allen wrench. Total time was one hour 2.0 minutes. Thanks.
Yep the Vid is spot on... don't think we need to continually see the other bikes, which would cut down on watch time! the comparatives should stay with the reviews
Thank you! Now I can rest assured that I can assemble this beast tomorrow without problems unless some parts are missing. Also, it seems that Schwinn is in control of quality, so assembly does not require to push parts into holes.
Thanks, v helpful...I was stumped for a few minutes as the tightener on the handlebars wasn't pointing down like instructions said it should...then realised it's one of those that pops up to rotate around 😁
Your videos helped confirm this was a good initial beginner bike that would last me a while! Should arrive here in a couple days, but thought I would give a watch to make sure I have an idea on how the install will work.
I didnnt watch the whole video but FYI to watchers- the lever adjusters are like ratchets. You pull them out, rotate them, click them back in THEN turn with tension. Thats how they can fit them into small spaces. Install the handlebar one facing out and you wont have to fight with the cupholders to get your fingers in there to adjust the handlebars later. The ball adjuster for the seat post is pull out, slide bar around, let knob click back in, then tension a bit to keep in place.
Just got my schwinn (had to help delivery guy who delivered it to my neighbor’s porch by mistake first!) Thanks for your build video very helpful, going to build mine today :)
Just ordered this bike after watching every bike video on youtube. Lots of videos on youtube. @ $800 w/ free shipping and zero interest Amazon payment plan this seems to be the best value available. Will get bike next week and see how things pan out.
Great video, made building the IC4 seamless. Sorry I didn’t see your channel before so I didn’t use your link. I will support in future for sure. Thanks!
I can't thank you enough for having this video available! You made it so easy to follow and I also ended up purchasing the IC4 after watching your videos. THANK YOU!
Thank you this video! Watched it before my bike arrived, so during the actual assembly it was easy to identify all of the parts. Took about an hour to assemble, didn’t use the written instructions, just paused the video while I completed each step. Looking forward to my first ride.
Thank you so much for your assembly video . I like to assemble thing myself but sometime the instruction book are confusing. I assemble my schwinn bike watching your video felt easy to assemble.
This assembly video made my life infinitely easier!! The instruction manual was confusing. Thank you for posting this!! Following this was a piece of cake.
Thank you SO much for posting this video - really helped me put the bike together without (too!) much trouble. The instruction leaflet was making my head spin. Now I can start pedalling!
Same! And this video was a live saver! I am not good at following instructions like the ones included with the IC4! So, this video REALLLLLLY helped me out.
Awesome video!! You did a great job letting me know what to expect & look for as I assembled my new bike all my myself!! Not bad for a 60 year old. Woo hoo😉
This video was so helpful. I liked the bits of humor. As a side note, I opened my box the same way you did in the beginning before I watched this video. 😂
While not the exact same model, this really detailed and useful info has made me feel far more confident and prepared for when my new IC7 arrives and needs assembly tomorrow. Thanks !
I'm completely new to indoor cycling and sbd clips and all that. I'm thinking of buying cycling shoes. Do cleats need to be installed on cycling shoes? Or do I just need the cycling shoes and it'll clip onto the IC4 pedal? Sorry if that doesn't make much sense...
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. It was extremely helpful for me and I got it together in a lot less time than had I tried to follow the manual!
After watching your videos, I confirmed the ic4 was what I wanted to get, it’s my first indoor cycling bike. I watched this while assembling last night, I wasn’t able to use your link to buy the bike, but found a link for an exercise mat on another video I plan to buy to help support(unfortunately much smaller purchase). Thanks for this!
Awesome to hear you found value in my videos Tyler! Thanks for considering the link, no worries brother, I'm just happy you left a comment sharing your story! Enjoy! And ps, if you hear a clicking noise while pedaling make sure the left pedal is tightened up, I have noticed mine loosen up twice.
@@TailHappyTV I’ve had my IC4 for a few days now and I’m enjoying it while using the iPad pelaton app, but I’ve watched your comparison of the IC4 and Pelaton bike and there is still part of me that wonders while I’m still in my return period if it’s worth the investment in getting the best. Do you find that your pelaton feels that much more premium that the ic4?
I was cutting my straps with a knife and it slipped and accidently nicked the wheel a little bit. Luckily it isn't really noticeable and doesn't effect the riding. I actually watched this video as I was building it. the new manual changes the order you put stuff on, but this helped. Well except that I put the handlebars on backwards and had to take them off again. With my bike I did not get weights, is that normal? Also I thought it came with a heartrate monitor, but I didn't get that.
Great video thanks... how do you get around moving the handlebars after assembling the monitor/water bottle holders? Esp if two people are using the bike?
I found the answer on reddit. "You have to pull out/down on the plastic lever. Its spring loaded, that disengages it and you can rotate it back without tightening it. The you let it push it back in/up and it reengages. then you can loosen it more. Do that as many times as you need to ." Just make sure the lever is on the outside of the back facing the front so you have the full range of loose to tight available.
Gosh this video was absolutely amazing! You covered everything even the bag of random brackets and screws which I thought was extra hardware. I didn't even need the very confusing instruction booklet! I followed your video step by step. Cannot thank you enough! No excess, right to the point...perfect! I'll try the bike later... if I come across any questions, I'll definitely be raching out.
Thank you! Just a note on the handlebar assembly: make sure you leave the adjustment lever accessible BEFORE adding the computer bracket. I made that mistake, and trapped the lever!
Nice work Matt, very detailed, didn;t even look at the paper directions! BTW, for new people, the larger allen-wrench has a philip screwdriver on the longer end to use.
Thanks, could not have done it without this video. Question: I purchased my IC4 this Father's Day in Orlando, FL. I noticed that the rear footing on my bike is shaped in a slight U form. The rear footing on your bike is not. Slight variations depending on manufacturing date maybe??
Hi there. What are you tightening on the feet (the base) and can you tighten the cage on the foot pedals? The water bottle holders really do look a bit goofy. Thank ya!! Mike
