Only problem with TDM is that just 2 out of 10 games are fun. Or you are dominating as team or getting slaughtered with the losing team leaving when there is more then a 5 points difference. Hope they can fix the matchmaking because as you say it is a great practice/warmup
You basically said this, but you have to keep positive vibes. If you feel yourself getting better at Apex, don't be afraid to pick up weapons you shyed away from. I've learned to love the car and r-99 by practicing and just knowing I've gotten better and can control them more . The alternator will always be satisfying, though too
i can control all the guns really well (except devotion) then i get on some days and it feels like no matter how far i pull down on the stick the gun keeps kicking like if im not moving the stick at all
@@IDKWHAT2NAMETHISS You have off days. Maybe you weren't in a fun on mood to play. It probably wasn't that, but everything can be . Apex and any other shooters are just terrible if you force yourself to play for missions . I agree with you on the devotion. Havoc is so much easier .
I’ve noticed that when I’m already angry with the mentality of “ima be a menace” and I have 1001 different racing thoughts in my head I don’t do as good. But when im chill with the mentality of “it’s just a game and I could use my failures as learning opportunities” I do way better
This has helped me improve so much, especially following my target instead of my crosshairs, and not panicking/ raging when i miss my shots or die, but my strafing is also getting better. Even if i lose im still having a good time. Thanks again so much😊
I also forgot to mention the warmup is the primary reason im noticing a difference in my aiming and even my game sense is getting a bit better, but it will still take some practice
I appreciate you breaking it down to the basics. I started playing on Xbox as a kid and played halo a lot, but I was always in multiplayer lobbies, Lan and then online with Halo 2. But the difference is it was heavily casual and up until now so was COD, Halo Reach added abilities but mostly the multiplayer was slow and consistent. These games now have so many different mechanics and concepts behind shooting and moving. I can appreciate the simplicity of your video because it helps me understand that I never treated Apex in a way that challenges me as a player, if I can focus on being a human calculator ill be able to get to masters.
Nice guide. When I was younger I was pretty good at shooters but now I am older and play a lot less shooters this game is so freaking hard for me. I lose almost every 1v1 so I hope this tips make me a better help to my teammates instead of only reviving, spotting and finding good loot 😅 My favorite weapons are the PK, Prowler, R99 (alternator to start) and I start to like the Nemesis and I just can’t understand why i sometimes melt people but most times it is more like panic shooting while missing all my shots 😔
Im a middle aged dude who started Apex at season 2, I was dying a lot. Learned with spitfire and G7, and when I was comfortable with those switched to flatline. Started getting those high damage badges for all my legends. Made it to diamond for the first time in season 3. There are better players than me in most of the lobbies but I still win most of my 1vs1:s (90% of them), and beaten even some predators in fair 1vs1 situations. You need to find the settings that comfortable for you. For instance, I like to use lower sensitivities (Im not comfortable at all with higher ones). Switching to linear might do the trick as well. I played with the settings for such a long time that I dont have too much recoil when shooting with the flatline from very far away. One important trick I have used from early on, is to briefly crouch down (have it on your bumber with controller, or some convenient key with a keyboard) during a bullet trade off, this will confuse your opponent for a millisecond and lose their aim on your head. It is such a simple change, but works very well. Since I switched to linear, losing more 1vs1 close range fights, but wont give up just yet.
@@Kmasse8that’s crazy I can’t stop changing my settings! Sigh I go from 4-3 linear small dead zone back to 5-5 classic no dead zone. I actually notice I win my up close battles a lot more on linear so that’s weird bc we have different outcomes obviously. I think Linear ultimately allows you to track better. I’m going to try and just stick it out with that.
Im opposite - when adrenaline hits in, I get some kind of superfocus and quicker reaction time so I land my shots better and will to survive makes me do pretty smart stuff. It's shame I can't play like that when I'm chilled out. Anyway I think that guys advice with single fire weapons is great - shotguns made me got my first kills in apex - I had to make my shots more precise instead of rushing b with flatty(with no knowledge of recoil and even didnt knew what stabilizers did, I took only mags and scopes.)
One of the things I struggle with the most is panic spam crouching in fights which throws off my aim. My crouch button is bounded to my right stick, I’m not sure how to get rid of this problem. Crouch on Right stick feels the most comfortable, any tips?
I have the same problem, it’s honestly why I couldn’t keep playing Call of Duty… kept going into prone in the middle of gunfights 😅 tbh it’s still better than having melee bound to right stick and punching during gunfights. At least with crouch being bound to the right stick, it’s not the best but it doesn’t interrupt your shooting. I think a big part of the issue is just my anxiety and anticipation of fights and one thing that significantly cut down on my anticipation jitters is to go out in search of the fights myself, instead of waiting for them to sneak up on me.
Crouch is left trigger. My ADS is left bumper. Tactical is B/O. Melee RS. It works for me. Only problem is I can't really hold aim with valk's missiles. But I don't really play valk. Its nice to crouch behind boxes without taking thumb off the sticks. I did this so I wouldn't have to play "claw" and I didn't have paddles. Now I have paddles but I won't switch back. Got too used to it. If you have paddles use one of them for crouch and put melee on RS. If you don't, use my layout. It works.
It's funny back in titanfall when you use the car it's almost a sin to ads, the hip fire was just to good. You could easily hit shots from some distance just with hipfire on the car. Miss Titanfall
Also Weapons have consistent horizontal recoil And the same way holding down keeps it from bumping up Moving left or right keeps it from bumping sideways This is most noticeable on the flatline as its recoil is a zig zag And when accounted for makes it arguably more accurate than the r301 At least for me And for recoil smoothing this is either what it is Or something Idk about
My issue seems to be that whenever I get into a fight in game or a tense situation, I get really tense and kinda push down on the mouse and it really messes with my tracking. I've tried to fix it, but beyond just focusing on what my hand is doing while also playing the game, nothing works. Any advice from anyone?
I struggle with this, too. I have two suggestions that help me a bit. The first one is learning to become outcome independent. You have to let go of caring if you win or lose, and only caring that you perform at YOUR best. This helps remove stress and pressure. The second is cliche, but try clearing your mind and focusing on only your hand and your breathing. Sometimes, I even have to repeat to myself: hand, cross hair, target. Personally I have to force myself to play without my friends occasionally to give myself the space to mediate on my aim and performance without the pressure of letting them down.
@LL-Worst your first point is actually spot on. this used to happen to me on siege until i basically forced myself to gain some confidence and swing shit. once it started working my hands felt less tense in otherwise tense situations.
And always warm up, i dunno how many players might think like me but i always wanted to change my aim settings in alc cause i could not aim for shit and that was cause i did not warm up for 10 plus minutes.
They may have nerf hip fire but today playing I barely felt the recoil when aiming down site. I hope it was just me leveling up and they didn’t buff the ADS recoil
Not verbalizing “I missed that whole mag” or “god I suck” stuff of that nature. Be stoic as much as possible. I know banter is fun, especially with the Homies but feeling like you need to explain yourself or get down on yourself is what will ruin your real time performance extremely quickly as it puts you in a negative state and pushes you out of flow states. The flip side of that is after say I lose a gunfight and we are sent back to the Lobby I do like to verbalize what I could’ve done better so I can give my subconscious something to think about when I encounter that situation again.
i was an Arenas kinda guy and was horrible at everything else and everyone gave me crap about hipfire and i kept telling them "your movement is quicker and you're more agile in the fight" but nobody believed me
Thats another level of stupidity from those teamnates because hipfire was EXTREMELY good in past seasons, they literally had to nerf it because of how useful it was. Rip arenas tho, I loved that gamemode
So I've been adjusting my settings in the advanced look controls and I'm confused about my long range accuracy and short range accuracy if my sensitivity is to high I'm frying close range but my far range shots suffer because when I adjust my recoil my gun flys how can I get a good balance
I would love some help or advice, hopefully I'm not the only one who does this... Whenever I get into a fight I always find myself accidentally pressing the crouch button, and I have to compensate my aim and movement for it and because of that my opponents are usually just headshoting me. I'm on PS5 my crouch button is the R3. I'm an average/below average player but I do this so often and idk how to stop it.
Idk what happened, but after season 13, i feel like all my skills, aim, and decision-making especially tanked. I just feel like i get one clipped 2 times more even when i have great cover or position.
