- Operation Squabble was the RAF's daring plan to lift the spirits of the French and strike back against the Germans. This adventurous raid conducted by 2 brave aviators in a lone Bristol Beaufighter humiliated the Germans at a time when things were looking bleak in Europe

Engines back then: my propeller engine could withstand multiple bullets and a bird stick in it
Engines now: pls no birb, birb bad.
Modern engines usually survive birdstrikes if it's just one or two birds.
Yeh pretty much, modern engines survive, jets such as the f35 and and the 747 have a defense machenism for it, the f36s defense is classified but the 747 engines actually break the blade that had the collision,
They can usually keep going but obviously for safety reasons anything larger than a fat duck may warrant an early landing if just to keep up the safety record.
The birds that took down the flight that ended in the hudson were big geese, and one engine got two in them iirc.
