  • @TheCameraStoreTV
    @TheCameraStoreTV  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm glad you found our video entertaining. I do feel however that other mirrorless cameras have better bracketing and time lapse capabilities. For example the Sony NEX 6 can bracket up to three stops apart instead of the Ms two. The M can't use Canon's EOS utility software and it's battery life is terrible further hindering time lapse. Eye-fi cards will work in it's competitors too. We failed to mention these things because it just seemed too cruel.

    Great review. I was playing with a Sony Nex-6 today, what a beautiful little camera. And I use Canon as a working photographer. I bought the Sony RX-100 what a great little camera. i want to integrate the Nex-6 into my kit as a back up but its the flash or lack of that stops me. i think I will get the Nex-6 as travel and weekend camera its just to nice. i would rethink my pro gear as well only that I have L lenses and speedlites and a couple of 5D's. Sony really is bring it to the big boys

    I love my NEX 5 so I just love shootouts that prove that I made the right decision two years ago! But they both have APS-C sensors and are both made by companies that are strong in the video market as well. Maybe just a video features shootout? If you forget the focusing speed on paper they seem pretty equal.

    I bought the M on 20th May. Read about focus problems. Seems very good to me. Not quite up there with DSLRs but within its limitations fine. Quality of photos and build is very high. 18-55 very good. Even the supplied flash is OK. Movie good but not used it much yet. And it's still made in Japan! Did a very good deal here in the UK on price. Camera is so light compared to DSLR that I carry it almost everywhere. Regards from retired freelance snapper.

    The thing is, I wanted the APS-C censor and ability therefore to use all kinds of lenses so when I found it for almost half the price of a 1200D, which has, for the most part, worse specs, it was a must buy. It hasn't arrived yet, so I can't comment on what I think, but I think it will be just what I needed.

      get a rokinon model for a nikon or canon slr and adapt. the sensor size is same as the rebels, so a fisheye for crop dslr will be perfect for it

    I really wanted to get this cameras as I have the 60D and 7D but tried it in the shop against the nex 6 and it was no contest in the AF department. I think it takes better photos than the nex 6 as I snapped a few and they looked just like my 7d which is amazing in such a small camera but the AF is too slow and no 50p video!! Plus the nex 6 has an awesome EVF.
    I have been a canon user for over 10 years and never looked at any other brand until now, sorry Canon you had your chance!!

    . ...view finders and range finders are possible,,
    .
    .
    some how they do not translate into slr or dslr terms.
    i think the sony nex-7 has the most correct term for them
    as far as modern things go & i do not feel like looking up
    as to what sony has dubbed the term for all that jazz is atm.

    8:17 lol! I'm thinking that Canon released this for the average consumer and will release (hopefully) a more "pro" model in the near future. It would be nice to see something along the lines of an OM-D EM-5 from Canon with with a nod to the AE-1.

    Great review and spot on. I believe canon had this sitting in the closet for far too long. Plus they need a new sensor tech anyway that 18mp is getting played out. Why no omd? I picked an omd and it gives all those mirror less cameras a run for the money. I tried most of the mirrorless systems. I am sticking to Leica and Olympus :P. FYI both can focus in almost absolute darkness ;)

  • @intensitydigital
    @intensitydigital 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    How would you rate this for video? If its like DSLR at almost half the price would this be better than a t3i? Plus support for magic lantern which is a HUGE plus.
    For video which is better this or T3i?

    • @bradconfer7065
      @bradconfer7065 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Between the EOS-M and the T3i for video I'd say Lumix G6. I sold a t3i and bought the Lumix, the Pana-leica 25mm, and the Sigma 60mm. The improvement is a joy I can barely describe. I do feel the Canon takes better stills even with the pans-leica on the lumix but video is night and day. Actually when I first started test shooting with the kit lens I got a sinking feeling in the gut. Like oh what have I done? Then I got some primes and shot some video. The clouds parted and angels sang. I can run video for two straight hours. It handles reds well. It handles harsh light well. 11.5 stops dynamic range. 24mbs 30p. 60p at 1080. I can control it from my phone (which I've never done except to show my wife). Seriously. If you're talking video and you don't have a cannon lens stash ditch Canon and go with the Lumix line. I started with Canon with the original Rebel XT. I was super loyal but boy am I glad I switched.

    • @intensitydigital
      @intensitydigital 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Sounds great but price is a major issue and the body is $200 more than the t3i kit with lens. And both are way more expensive than the M. Also I'm leaning tward canon purly because I want to try out magic lantern's RAW and other video features. Really a camera is a sensore in a box some have fance accessories but really it's got the same sensor as the lumix and because the lens mount is so close to the sensore almost any adapter can be made to work with the M so I have total freedom when it comes to lenses. It doesn't have teathered shooting but thats not a big deal right now. I'll worry about that when I upgrade later. Thanks for the input though. Made me consider some other options.
