I, for some reason, love this - even without the Jerry solo dropping in over the top, even though I’m not using it to jam on, and even knowing it’s on loop. Almost in the same way I love hearing the Price is Right game tunes. Or something. From a time I never lived in but wish to God I did. That is all.
Okay, I have been playing with Dead backing tracks for almost a year. I just discovered you, and this, right here...this Eyes is the best version of Eyes I have heard to date! Amazing job. It sounds almost exactly like Englishtown, which is my favorite version of that song The Dead ever played. I am subscribing to you and will check your other tracks. I REALLY hope that you have the other parts of the song, like the two solos, one going just to the Bm and the other also to the A. If not, I really hope you consider creating them. Because f**king WOW this Eyes jam is awesome. Take it from me. I have been playing the Jerry parts in Dead cover bands for over 20 years, and this is some insanely high quality you made in this track right here. I hope you have more!
One more thing. So you know I know what I am talking about when I complement, here is a video I made using a Petti backing track of Scarlet. I would LOVE to make some for your videos, too! th-cam.com/video/rfx40PwE1uE/w-d-xo.html
I couldn't tell you the key but the scale you use to improvise over the intro is just the e major scale. For the first solo break you alternate between the e maj scale and the a maj scale depending on what chord is being played
Key is Emaj7 and the chords are Emaj7 - A - Emaj7. Basically E maj scale as commented above, but emphasis on the Eflat will get you where you're looking to go

Englishtown is such a great version. Either that or the American Music Hall ‘75 version stands as the best IMO
I gotta chime in on 9-3-77 as the best ever version of "Eyes".
everytime i hear this, my hair emmediately begins to blow back
Englishtown NJ 1977 if I’m not mistaken.
I was there and can confirm - a truly special transcendent Eyes!
this is actually swing auditorium 2/26/77
Anyone know what key this is in? chord progression? scales? work to improvise around this. Thanks.

It’s Emaj7-E6-Emaj7
I think this is just a Emaj7 to Amin bar
