Genius! Luke, you are stepping up the game with this 2020.4 series. The timing, subject selection, and most importantly, your teaching skills and attention to detail are just outstanding. I turned the bell 🔔 on to start getting my Tableau breaking news from your channel.
I know the amount of work and time invested in grasping the new features, let alone teaching them and making them available for free to your followers. For all this hard work I can only say THANK YOU for making a difference!!

Does the new version can disable filters also for specific layers? The idea is to plot all customer locations as my first layer and make it static, so that it would be independent to any filters created in onother layer.

@datacoach I have to show 2 years of data(rolling 24 months) in the trend line while using map layers functionality. But I'm able to draw a line only for 12 months(12 points). Same months are getting grouped as 1 point on the line.

This is the issue i've run into...for now (at least): since all data tables used for layers in the same map have to be related or joined, if you filter out one dimension it will also filter out other dimensions under it. In other words, if I have state and customer locations layers and i filter out certain customer locations it will also filter out the state under those locations filtered out. The only way i've figured out to get around this is to union the two tables instead so that in the merged data set the data for the state layer is on separate rows from the data for the locations layer. It works, but then you have null values in your filter options.
I believe I read somewhere that an upcoming release will allow map layers without having to relate or join the underlying tables?
If you have any info on this or other suggestions I'd love to know!
