Guys i know you're very excited about the app but can you please reduce the intensity on how long the bottom promo bar appears in the video? It is very annoying.
Not answering for them, but you cant expect them to shutdown all sorts of monetisation avenues and survive. Just ignore it, personally not been a bother for me.
Having used magic twist for a year now. Honestly the most sophisticated innovated system I’ve experienced. Granted it requires a little experience to truly appreciate it. It’s not always the same breaking based on various factors so you have to learn it a little for it to be predictable. I also do think the system needs more fine tuning to be more used by the masses. But when it works it’s perfect. I think the trick here is to understand it’s still regen and not breaking. We shouldn’t confuse the two. The way I think of it is not… panic situation just aren’t appropriate to test magic twist. situations, like a car stopping abruptly in front, a kid running into the path, a suddenly observed pothole, etc, are all situations where you just break. But when you are coming to an intersection or a traffic stop and you need to stop predictably at a certain point… you can shave your speed slowly off and come to a stop comfortably using the system. However, abs should now be a government mandated must
The R&D efforts that magic twist took is highly underrated. I waited a year just to finally get a 450 with magic twist and very happy that it happened.
Agreed on both the ABS needing a government mandate and how innovative Magic Twist is. Spot on. However, a system that complexifies braking by making you choose one path for a normal braking and another for an emergency... and requires you to use your braking hand differently for both is going to be suboptimal.
@@motorinc hi. Agreed with your point that regen braking(with motor) and actual braking (with pads) should not be different. And especially when both require same hand. I work in metro systems and all metro trains in india uses regen braking and newer railway trains too. And there are not different buttons or levers for both. It's designed in braking software that above a particular speed(ex: 25kmph) if loco pilot is applying brakes then below a certain brake power application (ex: 50% of max braking power), train will use regen and if loco pilot applied above 50% brakes then actual brake pads will take over. And regen braking if tuned properly have lot of braking power... metro trains have to stop every couple of kms on every station from 70-80kmph and they rarely use brake pads. Brake pads use is considered bad as it burns brake pads and waste useful energy. I think using single application for both could be helpful. Maybe brake lever could be designed in a way that upto a certain application regen braking is used and above that brake pads.
Spot on! As far as we can tell, Ather moves forward by using the absolute minimum of hardware changes that it can. The River Indie scooter has brake pressure sensors it uses to vary regen, in its case across riding modes. The Ather cannot do this because it has no way of sensing brake pressure, either at the lever or down at the caliper

I remember quite clearly the moment when I was watching Motorinc First on the SuperMeteor and thought this would be a cool format for some older cars or bikes. Maybe not just old fancy aspirational vehicles but everyday cars like old I20s or the first Creta, cars that were so big back in the day, and to see how far ahead, or in some cases not so far, we have come as an industry. Would love to see this.
Will be great, if you can compare Abarth punto with current generation car which cap provide the same feel. Was a my dream car back then, settled with Linea TJet, wondering what would be an upgrade car on feel wise coming from a TJet.
You are 100% on the Reverse twist of the throttle getting in the way of using the front brake. I've been riding an Ather for two years, and though I use regen a lot, its only for longish descents or slowing down gently for a signal. I use the rear brake with regen if I need to brake, then let go regen and transition to the front brake. I didn't like their coasting regen because the scooter felt jerky at the neutral point, plus I love the low rolling resistance of the scooter, especially when the tyre pressures are on point.
As a magic twist user honestly really enjoy the system and use it as my primary break and use the main breaks if i need to stop faster. Only issue i would say is at 90% and higher it has slightly weaker breaking force than below.
I would like to thank motorinc team for they recommendation After 250 Duke I purchase the bike couple of days ago motoring videos was spot on every word that shumi sir was true , once again thanks your videos helps a lot in making my minds clear in purchasing a product❤❤❤
Two things for ather: 1. Bigger battery pack option at lower trim models including in 450s 2. Ather Rizta X with the same motor & handling tune from 450x
We doubt that Ather will do either, to be honest. A 450S with a 3.7kWh battery would save you no real money at all, the battery _is_ the expensive thing. The Rizta with a 450 tune would be too much overlap - we'd love to see a riding mode like Sport on the Rizta for sure though
Guys, I have been following you guys right from the nasency and I was a fan of your format and delivery right from the start. I am all into car related content, but you make me wanna watch the two wheeler stuff as well. I am writing this comment to acknowledge how well you guys dress and I want to know where you guys source your wardrobe from including sneakers. Requesting you to add links or just where you sourced it from.
Hard disagree on magic twist. Very hard rider here, I love it. I still think it's extremely intuitive (interesting that Shumi has basically done a 180 on it since the Apex MotorInc First). I like to use it as engine braking, because that's what I enjoy on all my automobiles. Maybe riders like my mum (whose scooter it is) use it once a week, I use it all the time (not that I ride/get to ride it very frequently). What I don't like is the inconsistency - it reduces a lot when the motor heats up (understandably). That said, I'm really glad I've got magic twist even if Ather remove it. I completely see Shumi's point about a fixed level of coasting regen that you've pre-selected happening with just a closed throttle. But for me, being able to choose it on the fly by going beyond just closing the throttle is 👨🏿🍳💋 Also, that plug about the app for the ultraviolet is such a dick move - horribly crowbarred in, it's also available on TH-cam, and the app isn't available on Android. Please stop this heavy-handed pushing the app until you've at least gotten Android up 😏
No pressure to agree, Mudit! Since the Apex MotorInc First, we've got another 2-3,000km, all in traffic, on Magic Twisted Athers. Shumi isn't convinced that this can be used in the ways Athers markets it. And that just allowing more control over coasting regen would achieve the _exact_ same result with a lot more control and convenience, *both.* That's all 😊 Thanks for the feedback - always appreciate you looking out for us.
@@motorinc If it ever felt like there was pressure to agree, MotorInc wouldn't be the class act it is, and I'd be outta here. I know this place isn't going to be like that at all 😃 Also, good to hear why Shumi has changed his view (quite a difference from raving about magic twist's intuitiveness back then) - really happy to hear of updated views after 1000s of km. But I completely see the view point, and it's very fair. My preference for it is certainly very subjective. It gives zero extra range to me, but since I live for aggressive downshifts on large engines... 😁
Once again outstanding review.. . You guys can also start looking at the myriad of electric cycles and e-mopeds.. they make more sense for intra city mobility.. Agile and cheap..
I had two pointers on this video: 1. Products like BE6, the prices have come through and anyways I think a product that has created so much of buzz needs some content, maybe a minute or two. I know you guys have a strong opinion about products that are not fully detailed by producer, but think BE6 is a product that has generated most amount of interest for an EV in India in my opinion and is talked about as a world class product (may be oversold by initial reviewers). 2. Please continue to post on TH-cam, I watch your videos mostly on TV, TH-cam app on TV. I have paid for a yearly subscription because I think you guys are just great and I wanted to support you guys in anyways I can.
Hey Sajiv! Thank you so much! 1. BE's coming to the channel soon - the information we needed has just arrived a couple of days ago. 2. No plan to stop!
Wow. I am planning to buy this scooter in a couple of weeks and was waiting for the review of its 2025 model from this channel. Thank you for putting out this video at the right time.
Hi Shumi and Karthikeya and Motorinc team! Love your work and especially your bias towards quality and raising the bar. have followed almost everything you’ve done. Question- I had taken premium plus membership from website few days ago. How to access membership content on youtube? Have downloaded the app. I am a developer. Loved your UX and the clean non-intrusive design. The detailing is amazing, it shows in how the content is organised and curated… New features request- 1. “continue watching from where I last left off” 2. History 3. Bookmark guides You will be bringing advertisements eventually I suppose. I hope you design them in a way that becomes a case study in marketing where you treat the customer as a partner and not as a selling dump. - one from the silent audience
Current app is live with all the essentials you need, but that's just the beginning! 🚀 More exciting features are dropping in the next few days. Our mission is keeping things simple and clean, and we love that you're all on board with this vibe!
Ather needs to bring ABS to its scooters for sure! Traction control is a good rider aid especially for a beginner rider, let’s say they randomly decided to whack the throttle open on a gravel-y corner. So, I do feel traction control is necessary in those situations. ABS is the one thing that has me iffy about recommending Ather scooters to my friends and family (None of the scooters have that except the Aerox but yeah).
I agree on the magic twist issue that you are facing as well. Doing the twisting motion and also keeping in mind to immediately switching the fingers to the brake, is definitely an additional effort for no reason. On my Rizta, I use it only when I am on higher speeds on low traffic. As soon as the traffic increases, I switch to normal braking. In Kolkata where the traffic is too dense in some places, relying on the good old brakes is much better than breaking your wrists continuously lol
Activa EV would be widely used by delivery person theory wouldn't be great as Shumi said, as it would be similar to how Maruti Suzuki Dzire was taken up Taxi Drivers reduced the desire for Dzire.
I’ve covered more than 5K on my Apex and absolutely do enjoy using the magic twist on every ride! But yes it doesn’t work when the motor heats up and does lock up the rear when you use both magic twist and the brakes together. Also Apex was supposed to be a limited and/or special edition but it’s still in production? I respect the engineering and hardware but hate everything else from Ather
1. Thanks for letting us know, @projectM812! 2. Apex: Yeah, we're not sure what's going on with that either 3. Yes! Superb engineering and hardware for sure!
@@motorinc exactly makes me furious as i had ordered apex 2024 and next day new model got announced and i canceled my older order waiting for new model
Apex owner here I use the twist in city all the time.Once I hit the highway I turn off the coasting regen and use magic twist as the coaasting regen only when I need it.
I do the same thing that Shumi mentioned of keep my two fingers on the levers. I tried it once few months back it made a lot of sense the braking improves and it really helps u alot trust me, especially when u have a close call.
Yes. But while the tyres play a major role, the increase in range is relatively small. So we think _when_ it's time to replace tyres, the new tyres are worth considering, but not immediately required
Apex owner here I use the twist atleast 5 times in a ride and take roughly I ride 4 days a week throughout the year The scooter is a monster in the warp+ mode but I am slightly annoyed they didn't add the traction control system on the apex cuz it really needs it as the wheel spins quite a bit in that mode Also the twist feature shouldn't be used to break suddenly but should be used to slow down gradually like how we roll of the throttle and and allow the bike to lose momentum when there any traffic upfront Would also like to know whether we can take the new tyres from any MRF store or only via ather we should order these rubbers TPMS was free for the apex owners It was for me PS: Off-topic question Wanted to ask that whether the tyre noises are more profound on concrete and on tar and whether riding on concrete effects the durability of the tyres Thanks guys Also waiting for the Android app Thanks guys
Hey Kshitij! 1. Android - awaiting final clearances from Google, should be very soon now 2. Twist - glad to hear it works for you! 3. TPMS - yes. but repackaged for 2025. Not the Halo is standard and the TPMS is not 4. Concrete - can cause more tyre nouse, not necessarily more wear. Not too much of an issue on bikes because there's too much of other noise anyway 5. Tyres - we suspect the first place to get the tyres will be Ather service but shortly afterwards MRF dealers might be able to stock/order them for you
100 kms real world range on a scooter is perfectly fine. Back in the days, I enjoyed taking Ather 450x from Bombay to Pune and exploring all the fast chargers along the route. Now, I am (and I am assuming a lot many too) well over that enthusiasm and 100 kms works perfectly for all my use cases. All these exercises of a little bit range here and there without upgrading the battery pack is all unnecessary. Its high time Ather gets a newer model that has better specs than Ola (I hate seeing them over taking my Ather easily, even Chetaks). And may be even start thinking about a motorcycle too..! 😊
True though these guys won’t talk about Ola, the reality is that it is a superior product in many ways. When my 450 needed a better range, I test rode the 450x of the time and the Ola it was a no contest. Every time I ride the two back to back, the difference becomes even more obvious. I just wish the company and the ceo weren’t as bad as they are.
Request noted, Srinidhi 😊. But the Day 2/n gambit doesn't work. Quality videos take time to think through and make, and having a comment everyday does nothing to make the process go any faster 🤷🏽♂️
I've been using an Ather 450x for 2 years now and it's easy to lose the 'excitement' factor easily within a year or so. It's a much more 'hey, it just works' instead of 'hey, here's another feature'. Honestly, I wanted to upgrade to a newer design, slightly more useful features like cruise control (they announced this ages ago). Heck the design has grown so much on me that it just feels like oh it's not standing out anywhere. It should just have been called Ather in 2 new colours instead of 2025 update and all those shenanigans. Service experience is crazy good, i've never had to wait more than 4 hours for getting my bike back from service center. I assume if Ather would do a bike, it would something similar to the 150-200c class range, think of it like an R15 ish competitor. Since design is their A-game, they would want to do that while keeping it around 4.5-5 KwH batter pack with 170-200 kms price range. That way it's far more usable and priced sensitively and might appeal to a lot of riders ( chances are low) Also Shumi and Kartik - would recommend you to call the new series Motoinc Nostalgia. Being a product manager, here are some ways in which the app can be leveraged much better - Have discussion forums and use the discussion forums to act as a natural SEO for the product. - Since the rider community is very 'offline' heavy influenced like trips and group rides, let people know that you're going to be doing community rides. - Understand that most people coming to your app would be the highly engaged and high retention cohort ; Giving them a limited timed access to all the premium features on the app, makes it a compelling strategy to upgrade. This thing is called 'reverse trials'. - Also if possible, invite 1-2 premium members to media trials, early access rides and maybe to some ownership review content.; This would make them feel more connected. ^ These are the things, I could think of right now but I am sure there might be some great ideas I can help you with - Please reach out, happy to help. :)
Hey Suraj! We agree 900% on your opinions about the Ather 450s. They need a fresh look to brighten up the appeal of "it just works!" Thanks for the ideas on how to grow the community,. The only thing we cannot do is invite people to media previews - they're not our events so we cannot be inviting people. Further, they're meant for a very specific agenda - to let reviewers experience and understand vehicles. Every time manufacturers have messed with it, in fact, the stories have turned out ineffective. The rest of the ideas - much appreciated - we'll pass on the team.
@@motorinc agreed on media rides part - I think organic growth is something your team should be looking at then, once there's enough traction maybe they can invite people from community to try it out or share their opinion. A closed distribution loop might be an amazing value for the community and companies
Different opinion - Regen in city should be more intensive as compared to highway. On highways, more often than not, we have slow down just a little bit (like lifting off the accelerator), to pass a certain situation. So coasting there will be perfect. Disclaimer - Not an EV user.
I've read that some cars use the tpms system to check pressure when you're filling the tires, and they honk when you reach the correct pressure. Seems like something the scooters could implement
I own a ather apex great scooter but on magic twist I myself have experienced the rear tyre lockup randomly on proper tarmac so yeah I only use it in city not on high speeds, it is very unpredictable sometimes it is strong sometime it is not maybe due to motor temperature not that useful. BTW love ur content 🔥❤
41:00 Silicon carbon batteries are on consumer electronics devices right now. Maybe they want to use those for their bikes. Anyways, anything an EV company says is 'coming' never comes before 2 years. So maybe that is the plan. Build a bike with a 15 kWh Silicon Carbon battery that does 350km in eco, 250 km in Warp+. Give it a CCS2 plug so it can charge at a basic BPCL/HPCL 30kW charger in about 10 minutes and get going for another 200km. Anyways, with a 13 liter tank in most modern 400s, with 3 liters of reserve, 10 liters is usable. The mileage on my Speed 400 on the highway is about 28-32 so the tank range is not too far behind this mythical motorcycle. On second thoughts, Ultraviolette will do this playbook before Ather does and make their bike much better. Ather is more concerned with the city use case so their next target could be the Bajaj Freedom 125 customer. Clearly, as far as 2 wheelers are concerned, Electric has picked up much better than CNG.
Good idea, Anant! What we've understood from the auto-manufacturers so far is that making sure batteries are stable in automotive applications is so much harder than consumer electronics will always receive new batt tech first, and it'll take a while to get to things that have to be outside in the heat, dust and water.
LISTEN TO ME ,i don't know if you guys will see my comment or not but, i think this is the perfect timing for making a new video of ev scooter comparison of all (athur, tvs, chetak, ola, vida.etc) like the one you did ,which end up bring the most viewed video on your channel were sunil become the scooter personality like the scooter is talking . that could be a another hit ,, and a perfect way of explaining all the scooter in one video ,: will help people to buy right scooter . so plz make a video like that again like thatPLZZZZZZZZ I HOPE YOU GUYS SEE MY COMMENT
I think you guys can do better with how you direct people to your app. This is like if the radio jockey said his name after every major part of a song. Good video to experiment on. But going forward we need better integration with the video. Different designs placed throughout the video maybe with different segues in your scripts. Don't let everyone think this part of screen is ad, we should ignore it. That will reduce the value of your app. It can be also integrated after your intro video with quick benefits listed on the side.
We're doing our best to get the message out there, and yes we can always do even better! But just to be clear we're keeping this in-house, no outside integrations. 😊 And remember, expectations are two-way street!
Let me talk about my experience with magic twist as a rizta owner. I keep the coasting regen off as it feels extra effort to use the throttle. The throttle becomes more resistive to open with it. So, I keep coasting regen off but actively use magic twist to slow down, only in case of emergencies I use the brakes. This is mostly because the rizta has a rear drum brake and is not as powerful as the 450 one. And I'm used to the rear brakes because I previously owned a Honda Aviator. Like Shumi mentioned, a configurable coasting regen would be the most intuitive system to use.
I joined this channel when I was searching for reviews on the Bear 650. I realized that as a short man, bear was never going to fit me. I only wanted to buy it because of my nickname being Bear. Anyways, I love your chemistry and the podcasts, so I stayed. Now I realize that you guys have similar fashion sense as I. But, where do you get those tshirts? Please send link or make merch, would love to buy a few.
Guys, Chetak user here. Loved the earlier video on Chetak. I was hoping you guys would talk about the new chetak which has got lot of changes. Waiting for it!
Great podcast !! I suggest to please do a Motorinc Fist on Suzuki V Strom Sx 250 the 2025 model with the new engine. Commenting here as I have already subscribed for Motorinc app but waiting for the Android version. Thanks Keep Motorinc!!
@@motorinc Oo Ok got it.. Thanks for the clarity. Still it deserves a Motorinc first.. Half n hour wala at least as it's an Adv tourer in 250 cc which are very less in India. Please see if it can be considered. Thank you Keep Motorinc
The new range claims for coasting regen and magic twist might actually be true. In my case I've clocked 3100 kms on my Apex and I'm consistently getting 27 km/unit in Warp+ mode when riding solo (which is 90+ kms of range) Magic twist takes time to get used to but once you understand when to use it and when not to use it, it works pretty good
The regen on Ola seems better implemented hearing Ather's way. I have gotten very comfortable with regen so much so that I use it for braking every time.
47:36 A motorinc first for Ertiga please, still relevant, still selling and now it is incresingly having competition. It will be fun to know where it stands in terms of the quality of ride and stuff. And i own one so you know would be able to learn where the market stands and where my car stands within😅😅
Hi, as someone who uses a 450X daily, I respectfully disagree on your assessment of traction control. Some intervention is definitely needed in rainy situations if nothing else.
So does this mean that we can expect better range in the older gens if I change the tyres? Are the new tyres available for purchase in the first place?
Yes there might be a small improvement - but we'd change tyres when the current ones are done. The improvement is not enough for it to be needed right now. New tyres will probably be easiest to source via an Ather dealer until MRF has them in stock at dealers
More range with just tyre change indicates reduced rolling friction. Probably that's why they paired this change with traction control. However when using new tyres on older model would we see a loss of traction more often, what are your thoughts?
I am using Rizta 3.7kw model for past 5 months and i think magic twist helps perfectly while breaking So it's a very useful features and magic twist has a magic in it😅
I think there was some mention of Karthikeya owning a W124 or 123 at some point. Would love to see a video on that if he still owns it. Still would be a cool video even if you guys have to source one from somewhere else!
If you are gonna do a video on older vehicles. I want you to do a video on older pulsars BS3 or older. Maybe a 180 or 200. Those older bikes are still alive while the new ones have become old. The power delivery of those bikes every time you twist throttle gives you the oooommphh..!! I started to love riding because of that feeling of going 55 to 100kmph in a twist. I am talking about the power delivery and not the actual power or pickup.
I understand that the utility is low. But is Traction control coming to older 450 Apexes? My nephew has one, hence the interest. I would suspect no. Since the additional hardware of the ABS ring is required.
Hey @gohan12991! The full set of information need to do a MotorInc First of the BE 6 and the XEV was not available until a few days ago. MotorInc Firsts coming soon - please stay tuned!
20:06 at the same event a journalist fallen off from his 450x using magic twist while cornering, it didn't slow him down or lock up his rear wheel i dont know what happend exactly while cornering.
Interestingly I have a previous gen 450X (gen 4 I guess) 2.9kW without pro pack and it has the sams thing as magic twist and I use it often, it does not seem to have any modulation at all, either on or off, and its a high effort to twist forward. As you've said its confusing when to use regen and when to switch to beeaking but an annoyance I faced was the moment you touch the break the regen goes zero instead of adding to the break force, so theres a momentary reduction in breaking when grabbing the break while in regen.
23:10 Halo Helmet was not standard with the Apex. Just a colour matched helmet of the same shade of blue as the scooter. At least that was the case in July 2024.
You didnt bring up or mention anything about M-First of the Classic 650??! Waiting for it (badly) Also I was under the assumption, the recording would be around 7-10 behind the date of upload... this was recorded in Dec?! That could be anywhere between 20-40 days back... 😶
I kinda disagree with the magic twist comments. I have a Rizta, I ride very aggressivly, and honestly use the magic twist as my primary brake as soon as i am below 80% of Battery. I find it highly predictable . I complement it with the rear brake when slowing down from speeds above 65 just to slow down quicker. I have gone 33kms with mixed traffic conditions (30% city and 70% twisty downhill hilly road) with having used physical brakes just twice once while panic braking and once on a dirt patch. I find the rear drum brake really soft so I use the magic twist most of the time on all of my rides... on slower speeds i anyways dont use the front brakes because of its being so jerky so there too the twist helps a lot!
If you do that, Anrico, you're basically braking the rear wheel with your left hand as well as the motor - Magic Twist brakes the rear wheel as well. The Ather's rear brake is too sharp for this to be a clever idea.
Magic twist seems useless. They could have just given 2 step adjustable regen- 1) While coasting 2) While pressing brake lever, just when the brake lights kick in but braking force is still in significant.
Yes! This would be good. To us, the brakes triggering some amount of regen is always there as a system. Multi-level coasting regen - like Ultraviolette does - is the way forward
I have used a friend's Ather 450X for about 2 months she he was over seas, his was a gen 2 but even that had a twist the throttle the other way to use regenerative breaks, how is magic twist different than that? Are they the same? But then you guys are saying it's only on the apex and newer bikes
48:19 need the app atleast to let you guys know about which yesteryears car or motorcycle am excited about.. Just to inform, on the car front, Nissan Evalia ( I know it's a goofball, but that would be laugh riot for sure) On the motorcycle front, can we have the iconic Hero Honda CBZ (not the Xtrme versions) or the Definitely Male P220 DTS-Fi
@@motorinc The apex was suppose to be limited edition before shumi said it in the ather apex podcast is it not limited edition any more ? Plz do reply I am planning of buying the apex 🙏
I think Ather should make their E-motorcycle performance oriented 😬 and name it Ather predator. They have all the experience needed to make one. Only thing is they should also pay a bit more attention with hardware updates just for the components which are due immediately like ABS etc

The Ather cannot do this because it has no way of sensing brake pressure, either at the lever or down at the caliper

Abs ring explanation was easy to understand, it was new for me. Love your videos.
Awesome! Thank you Sagar!
Awesome! Thanks for the vote on the older vehicles - let's see what we can do!
Will be great, if you can compare Abarth punto with current generation car which cap provide the same feel. Was a my dream car back then, settled with Linea TJet, wondering what would be an upgrade car on feel wise coming from a TJet.
@@motorinc1st gen Innova please 🥺. Maybe type 3 type 4? AND PLEASE CARENS🫠
That's it! Thanks Mritunjaya!
As a magic twist user honestly really enjoy the system and use it as my primary break and use the main breaks if i need to stop faster. Only issue i would say is at 90% and higher it has slightly weaker breaking force than below.
Thanks for letting us know!
I would like to thank motorinc team for they recommendation After 250 Duke I purchase the bike couple of days ago motoring videos was spot on every word that shumi sir was true , once again thanks your videos helps a lot in making my minds clear in purchasing a product❤❤❤
Hey James! Congratulations! Glad we could help!
Two things for ather:
1. Bigger battery pack option at lower trim models including in 450s
Love how you simplify ABS and TC
Our pleasure!
Thank you @techaddict9438!
But for me, being able to choose it on the fly by going beyond just closing the throttle is 👨🏿🍳💋
Also, that plug about the app for the ultraviolet is such a dick move - horribly crowbarred in, it's also available on TH-cam, and the app isn't available on Android.
And that just allowing more control over coasting regen would achieve the _exact_ same result with a lot more control and convenience, *both.* That's all 😊
Thanks for the feedback - always appreciate you looking out for us.
@@motorinc If it ever felt like there was pressure to agree, MotorInc wouldn't be the class act it is, and I'd be outta here. I know this place isn't going to be like that at all 😃
Also, good to hear why Shumi has changed his view (quite a difference from raving about magic twist's intuitiveness back then) - really happy to hear of updated views after 1000s of km.
Thanks Arko! No plan to look at electric cycles etc for the moment, though
I had two pointers on this video:

The detailing is amazing, it shows in how the content is organised and curated…

Agreed! ABS, at least as an option, would be awesome to have on what are some of the best electric scooters you can buy right now
I agree on the magic twist issue that you are facing as well.
2. Apex: Yeah, we're not sure what's going on with that either
3. Yes! Superb engineering and hardware for sure!

I feel very good ABS is a must for any vehicle, but traction control is debatable depending on the power produces by the machine
Finally I can workout in peace while listening to this

If tyres are a major part of increased range then existing owners when getting new tyres will also benefit from this
Yes. But while the tyres play a major role, the increase in range is relatively small. So we think _when_ it's time to replace tyres, the new tyres are worth considering, but not immediately required
@@motorincI don't think we will get a range of 130 like ritza.
Another great episode. Thanks for that. Just a query, are you guys looking to do a "MotorInc First" for superbikes?
We're working out how to deal with larger, more lifestyle vehicles. BK
Apex owner here
I use the twist atleast 5 times in a ride and take roughly I ride 4 days a week throughout the year
The scooter is a monster in the warp+ mode but I am slightly annoyed they didn't add the traction control system on the apex cuz it really needs it as the wheel spins quite a bit in that mode
Also the twist feature shouldn't be used to break suddenly but should be used to slow down gradually like how we roll of the throttle and and allow the bike to lose momentum when there any traffic upfront
Would also like to know whether we can take the new tyres from any MRF store or only via ather we should order these rubbers
TPMS was free for the apex owners
It was for me
PS: Off-topic question
Wanted to ask that whether the tyre noises are more profound on concrete and on tar and whether riding on concrete effects the durability of the tyres
Thanks guys
Also waiting for the Android app
Thanks guys
Hey Kshitij!
1. Android - awaiting final clearances from Google, should be very soon now
2. Twist - glad to hear it works for you!
3. TPMS - yes. but repackaged for 2025. Not the Halo is standard and the TPMS is not
4. Concrete - can cause more tyre nouse, not necessarily more wear. Not too much of an issue on bikes because there's too much of other noise anyway
5. Tyres - we suspect the first place to get the tyres will be Ather service but shortly afterwards MRF dealers might be able to stock/order them for you
@motorinc Thanks for the clarification guys 💙
@@motorinc so there's no TPMS in the new Apex?
@@Whatifffff nope
@kshitijpandey6514 what a waste buying the top end premium scooty with 6k bumped up price with no tpms
100% agreed, Raj!
Yes, we won't be reviewing Ola products until we see them improving their customer support significantly
The excitement for RX i get it 😅
I was lucky to have owned it.

Day 2/n of Asking Shumi to make a video on his Multi like he did on his Duke390😤
Request noted, Srinidhi 😊. But the Day 2/n gambit doesn't work. Quality videos take time to think through and make, and having a comment everyday does nothing to make the process go any faster 🤷🏽♂️
@motorinc understood, will wait for video 👊
+1
he said it, and we want it, and not just multi, Aprilia as well.
That way it's far more usable and priced sensitively and might appeal to a lot of riders ( chances are low)
Also Shumi and Kartik - would recommend you to call the new series Motoinc Nostalgia.
Being a product manager, here are some ways in which the app can be leveraged much better
- Have discussion forums and use the discussion forums to act as a natural SEO for the product.
They need a fresh look to brighten up the appeal of "it just works!"
Thanks for the ideas on how to grow the community,.

Thanks Mohan! That helps!

The new range claims for coasting regen and magic twist might actually be true. In my case I've clocked 3100 kms on my Apex and I'm consistently getting 27 km/unit in Warp+ mode when riding solo (which is 90+ kms of range)
Magic twist takes time to get used to but once you understand when to use it and when not to use it, it works pretty good
The regen on Ola seems better implemented hearing Ather's way. I have gotten very comfortable with regen so much so that I use it for braking every time.
Eager to look at the new platform esp. on the bike

Loved the conversation, my question is ,the new tyre will be available for other models such as 450s as replacement if needed?
Yes, it should be
Hi, as someone who uses a 450X daily, I respectfully disagree on your assessment of traction control. Some intervention is definitely needed in rainy situations if nothing else.
No pressure to agree, and thanks for letting us know Pawan!
Dear editor the colour look better in this one and there are more details visible.

More range with just tyre change indicates reduced rolling friction. Probably that's why they paired this change with traction control. However when using new tyres on older model would we see a loss of traction more often, what are your thoughts?
We don't think these scooters are anywhere near powerful enough for traction to be a major issue, tbh
I am using Rizta 3.7kw model for past 5 months and i think magic twist helps perfectly while breaking
So it's a very useful features and magic twist has a magic in it😅

Those older bikes are still alive while the new ones have become old.
The power delivery of those bikes every time you twist throttle gives you the oooommphh..!! I started to love riding because of that feeling of going 55 to 100kmph in a twist.
I am talking about the power delivery and not the actual power or pickup.

I understand that the utility is low. But is Traction control coming to older 450 Apexes? My nephew has one, hence the interest.

quick Q : what do you think of the vento 1.6 mpi as a car !? and the engine in particular if its mated to the 5 speed manual..
Yes, we have used that system too, and again, the negative twist, as little as it was is not user-friendly and hard to use.
23:10 Halo Helmet was not standard with the Apex. Just a colour matched helmet of the same shade of blue as the scooter. At least that was the case in July 2024.

I find the rear drum brake really soft so I use the magic twist most of the time on all of my rides... on slower speeds i anyways dont use the front brakes because of its being so jerky so there too the twist helps a lot!
overall a solid scooter from last year is still a very good scooter this year.
Oh yes, absolutely!

Tata hexa. I have the top spec AT 6 str. Will be extremely happy to lend you my car. It has just completed 1,00,000 kms.
Brake is on your left hand as well, right? Use that along with magic twist.
If you do that, Anrico, you're basically braking the rear wheel with your left hand as well as the motor - Magic Twist brakes the rear wheel as well. The Ather's rear brake is too sharp for this to be a clever idea.
47:12 Motorinc last for Hyundai Verna 2023 facelift please.

@motorinc cheers
Magic twist seems useless. They could have just given 2 step adjustable regen-
1) While coasting
2) While pressing brake lever, just when the brake lights kick in but braking force is still in significant.
Yes! This would be good. To us, the brakes triggering some amount of regen is always there as a system. Multi-level coasting regen - like Ultraviolette does - is the way forward
All cons of magic twist perfectly elucidated

Thans Vishnu! Glad you're enjoying the MotorInc experience!
48:19 need the app atleast to let you guys know about which yesteryears car or motorcycle am excited about..
Just to inform, on the car front, Nissan Evalia ( I know it's a goofball, but that would be laugh riot for sure)
On the motorcycle front, can we have the iconic Hero Honda CBZ (not the Xtrme versions) or the Definitely Male P220 DTS-Fi
Only miss on the 2025 ather is ABS at this price point
If they add one
I'll rush to the showroom rn
🤜🏽🤛🏽
Agree. I think I will go with ritza 3.7kw model
When will you guys check out the updated river indie, they have a chain drive vehicle now ?
Awaiting test bikes, NR
When are you doing bajaj chetak review. Presently chetak 2903 (123km range) is 1,04,000 on road in maharashtra really value for money scooter.
Waiting for test bikes, SD! No clarity from Bajaj yet on dates
Hey i think tpms is standard with the apex model it listed in there website as that's included
Yes, but the 2025 documentation we received from Ather says the helmet is included, but the TPMS is now optional, Ashutosh
@@motorinc The apex was suppose to be limited edition before shumi said it in the ather apex podcast is it not limited edition any more ? Plz do reply I am planning of buying the apex 🙏
Yes, it was supposed to be a limited production run, but it seems to be going strong for 2025
I think Ather should make their E-motorcycle performance oriented 😬 and name it Ather predator.
They have all the experience needed to make one. Only thing is they should also pay a bit more attention with hardware updates just for the components which are due immediately like ABS etc
Yes!
Rizta rider seat is not comfortable for mid range distance..
My bums keep sliding to edge..
It is tilted.. We need to do work by ourself on seat.
Yes! This is spot on, @Gorkha_Solta
How does Shumi maintain his white shoes without getting gear shifter marks on them?🤔
Shumi doesn't ride in his normal shoes, Aditya. These aren't protective enough to go anywhere close to the bike 😊
Hey @motorinc, I knew it! Just messing with ya, since a bunch of people in earlier videos asked for one on his shoe collection. 👍
@motorinc Lets have a Bajaj month 😀😀Motorinc First: Chetak Chetak 35 series..Motorinc View: Ns 400z, I dont think Shumi will be interested in the updated RS200😅😅but a short video on K and Shumi's thoughts😁
Hey Siman! Requests noted! All okay with you?
Hello @motorinc, everything is fine, thanks for asking 🙂🙂. how about everyone there?
All ok!
MOTORINC first Honda NX500...!!!!
Why no review on Mahindra BE6 and XEV 9E?
Hey Guru! There wasn't enough information so far - no info for prices on the variants we drove, and no info on the variants for which prices were made available. Those pieces of info have only arrived in the last few days, so MotorInc First should drop soon, stay tuned!
So I can improve the range of an old ather by using these tires 😉
In theory, yes. But it will be a minor change
I think that ABS should be mandatory on all two wheelers
Hi guys
Wanted to know if you are planing to review KIA Syros.
Soon! We haven't driven the car yet, SL
