You stopped in Eagleville, MO where I went to school graduated in 1969. The next interchange is the state line of Missouri/Iowa and the family farm is just off of the interchange and south 1/2 mile! The town of Eagleville MO has not changed much since 1969! Thanks for stopping!

My other thought upon watching this vlog was that, having heard so often The Legend of Mama's Horn, it was nice to see her making like Gabriel there at the end. It's just a darn crying shame there's this rule: There Shalt Be No Trumpet in Bluegrass. I mean, surely someone, somewhere has arranged a bluegrass version of, “When the Saint's Go Marching In.” Surely that, at least, would have a trumpet solo in it somewhere. Anyway, as the family's newest, biggest fan, I challenge Karen and Katie to put their heads together and write a bluegrass song for the trumpet. I mean, c'mon, how is, “Git it, Mama!” not the most perfect song title ever?

Life on the road is hard. I get the impression it's all glamor. But it's late nights, flat tires, irritated bandmates....Keep vids and music coming.
Touring is very hard. I remember reading once Keith Urban talking about doing a show, getting on the tour bus late and traveling to the next show. Trying to sleep on the bus. You are tired and exhausted. You try not to get sick. Sometimes you don't even know what town you are in.
Julianne - Great job with the Vlog. I could actually "feel" the travel in a cramped vehicle - having traveled long distances in one myself. Hopefully you will do a Vlog of your Finland/Ireland trip. Say hey to Ellen for me...Take it Easy ... MarK

Julz is a typical "last one". The others before her made all the mistakes for her to get pardoned every time she is repeating them and being so "anachronical in the sibling line up", the lovable bumbling "tail light". A bit like "Dopey" from the "Seven Vertically Challenged Ones".

I know that y'all are making some great memories being crammed into that car...LOL..!! but wouldn't a motor home be a little more accommodating for everyone plus all of the gear? It is good to show people just how much travel and late nite hrs. & early morning hrs. and short on sleep that it requires to be on the road to share your music. Welllllll ye went right through my backyard visiting Smith Coffee! It was actually a Dunn Brothers as recently as 2016. Glad y'all enjoyed the trip! Itasca is one of the most-visited state parks in MN so that scene at the *headwaters* is typical. Minnehaha literally means "water waterfall" so I got a kick outta your editing there.
That is some trip! Made me tired just watching!
The Petersen Family...the bluegrass version of The Cowsill's aka The Partridge Family. I loved the video, the audio, not so much, but you'll get better. The next time you're in Iowa I'll try to get to see you all. I think you guys are awesome.

I think you meant "the headwaters of the Mississippi"; the mouth of the Mississippi is at the other end where it empties into the Gulf of Mexico. As someone who read "Minn of the Mississippi" in grade school, though I'm kind of disappointed that it wasn't the rain running off the tail of a crow in a pine tree. 😏

I bet they could fill their massive sanctuaries if folks knew you were in town! Or, contact Grandview Christian School in Des Moines. You guys would be such a wonderful inspiration to the kids!
