For perfect fried rice- oyster sauce! gives it that typical Chinese fried rice flavour, salty and flavoursome. Great video as always glad to see you back.

With ur fried rice , try adding the frozen - peas, corn carrot and capsicum from woollies. $4 a bag.
The capsicum gives it a nice tangy smell and taste in ur fried rice. Add a tint of Maggi soy sauce instead of salt.

Andy, try this spray for Sand flies and Mozzies - 1 part baby oil, 1 part Listerine, 8 - 10 drops of clove oil. Said to work for even the most sensitive skin.

Honestly though, Id look at a polycraft tuffy and bang some stainless steel rails around it atleast. Heavy, and probably a pain to take with you, but you will have a chance atleast if a big croc has a go. That things a death trap mate, only a matter of time if you gamble up that way. Its all good until its not

Andy, I have had some success using a yellow light to keep away mossie and sandy's at night and that still gives me some light to do things by.

I've been slack with them, clean water is a must
Beautiful we call them mangrove snapper or Mangoes in Miami /Florida keys some of the best tasting fish in the ocean. Ever try snook? Idk if you have them very similar to barras we have similar fish that huge the cubera snapper they can get up to 70 lbs and up we catch them with whole lobster drifting over wrecks in June July full moon

Andy do you remember the old tilly lamps with the wick . I use one of those also but instead of using kero i use citronella outdoor lamp oil
that way the flame is protected from the wind and the lamp is more stable than a burning mossie coil.

Am in the marine industry myself so a word of advice re ur outboard, they r a great engine but u cannot get lots of parts for them now. They have particular issues with the oil injection system (tank, pump etc) so I would either trade the engine for a 4 stroke (most brands r super reliable) or source some s/hand spares??

Mix your casts, literally just burn your lure out. I’ve seen jacks milling around beside the boat twitched lures past them and they ignore it. Burn one past and it fires them up! Countless times this has worked for me.

That would be the colors of a spawning sockeye salmon Andy. Those flies would have driven me nuts long before you called it a day. I would have been trying get some of that 2-stroke exhaust going to smoke the flies out.

@@Andysfishing ??? Not sure what video you're referring to. The red lure with a green head you were using. Spawning sockeye salmon are red with a green head. Maybe something was lost in translation because what you guys call salmon down there are nothing like our Pacific salmon.

In the States they have Thermacell for mosquitoes and flies. Great product even with a slight breeze.

I always have an old pair of shoes and thick socks in the boat to protect against sand flies as well as the sun. Unfortuneatly the hands get smashed though.

I feel your pain on the sandflies. i found out many years ago i am somewhat allergic to them... so multiply the hundreds of bites you had with large itchy welts, across feet and hands, with swelling, for about 2 weeks...
