EXPLORING NOTHSTEIN PRESERVE - Small but Beautiful...

Exploring the Nothstein Preserve a tiny hidden preserve in the Pocono Mountains with ‪@darcyshikingdiaries‬ . We spent the morning hiking and documenting this little hidden gem in Monroe County that features a scenic stretch of Cranberry Creek. Nothstein is one of many smaller, lesser known preserves in the region that have been created to protect the water quality of the regions pristine streams, and preserve open space from development. The day started off dreary and uncertain at a very small parking area, but as we entered deeper into the preserve, the skies brightened and we began to discover and appreciate the various features of the small but well done looping trail system. A quarry, the wild Cranberry Creek, wetlands, and several small stone structures, many small foot bridges, and tiny tributaries all combined to create a wonderful early spring hike in this beautiful hidden preserve. #natureadventurediscovery #scenicpennsylvania
