Shattenkirk would be my pick but I like the PTO season where the coaching staff get a close up view of how these players fit with the current roster. Thanks for the update
Gotta say, pretty disappointed we didn’t trade for Yaroslav Askarov. He felt like the rare A level prospect you just HAVE to trade for. Skinner/Yaroslav would have set up the Oilers for a top 10, potentially top 5 goal tending unit. + Yaroslav has a higher ceiling than Skinner imo. Thought we could have easily afforded a similar trade package that the Sharks gave up. Anyways, too late now. Rooting for Emberson, Podkolzin & Stetcher to have big years. + Hoping E. Kane plays like an All-Star once he returns fully healthy. Go oilers.
As a Blues fan… I always liked Shattenkirk. Smart offensive player. But his D was suspect. That was 8 years ago… not sure how Shatty’s D has developed or not.
@@Dr.Acula76Barrie’s numbers appear better than they actually are watched him turnover and run to the bench before getting scored on more than a few times when he was with the oilers before. Not Barrie
Heard Burtuzo from St Louis is looking to play somewhere this season ex captain defence won a cup with St Louis big boy St Louis isn't signing him but sounds like he is looking for one year contract to play this season maybe he would sign cheap to play with oil he was a dam good defence man
@@lowtierduster-7254 Barrie was greatly improved defensively before he was traded and was the Oilers best defence-man. Under Coffee he would be a great pick for the Oilers.
@@A.I.Silicate improved is still not great though, best dman is a bit of a statement that i disagree with at that point. idk they need to find a better fit on the right side
@robgranberg7854 LOL. Hey look, another guy who thinks Nurse sucks just because he's overpaid. I'm sure you're trying to be funny, but he's only had 4 minus seasons with the worst being 13, after that, only a -5, 2 and 2. He's a career +67. Maybe look up stats first next time.
@@Dr.Acula76 I've watched every oiler game since the early mid 80's. I don't miss much. I was being funny. It's too bad you couldn't just leave er at that. So far, he's just above awful. He doesn't play the role he should be playing. He believes that because he can skate well, that jumping into rushes or being the rush, is why he is making the 9.25. in reality, what he should be doing, in order for that contract to produce some value, is play a little more like Pronger did. Make people not want to go to the net. Tkachuk and Bennet bumping into Skinner? Take care of it so they don't want to do that again. Or at least think about it next time. Numbers only tell ya part of the story.

Hey Patrick thanks for your update. It will be great to see the outcome of all the decisions in the preseason and regular season 👍
Shattenkirk would be my pick but I like the PTO season where the coaching staff get a close up view of how these players fit with the current roster. Thanks for the update
Barrie is NOT the guy. The guy they need has to play with Nurse. Barrie would be a disaster.
Thanks!
Thank you so much 🏒🏒 Greatly appreciated

Tyson Barry!
The only reason to bring Justin Schultz in would be to introduce him to the alumni room.
He's a liability on the ice.
-23 for Schultz. -57 on his career. Hard no.
Agreed. Same with Barrie who's a career -76

Shattenkirk looks better on paper than the other two. I never liked Shultz when he was in Edmonton the first time
Justin Schultz is the best of that group

Not sire on pto and san jose got a whole lot better today
I don't really care about the goals and assists... who has the defensive chops to play with Nurse?
Schultz should be cheap, Barrie might be more then we can afford if the try out goes well. Shattenkirk should be a hard no.

Shattenkirk pls
Man... Tyson Barrie, a healthy scratch for most of last year? Did he ever fall fast?...
None of them
First here...
Kirk
Before the Ekholm trade, BARRIE was our best defenceman. I would sign Barrie or Gustav Lindstrom
We need D, not another offensive D who's a career -76 like Barrie
that’s only because he was on pp. he’s not great defensively we already have offence from the backend we could use a defensive guy

Oilers should get fabbro out of Nashville. He’s not a regular in the Nashville top 6
None of those three to be honest.
