The Beelink EX Docking Station is a useful accessory for a range of Beelink mini-PCs. The Chinese mini-PC manufacturer has equipped some of its PCs with a PCIe interface, allowing them to connect to this docking station. In addition to supporting a dedicated graphics card, the docking station can also accommodate an SSD, and it offers the option to enhance Wi-Fi reception by attaching external antennas on the sides.
The package includes the docking station itself, a user manual, and a power cable. Beelink also provides two 8-pin cables for connecting a graphics card. Additional accessories include mounting plates for both the mini-PC and the graphics card, ensuring a secure fit. To install a Wi-Fi card inside the station, a compatible adapter is included-but the Wi-Fi card itself is not. Beelink states that the Intel BE200 card, among others, is supported. Screws for installing the plates and the Wi-Fi adapter are also provided.
A quick glance at the docking station reveals a prominent power button. It also features a status LED, making it easy to see whether the station is powered on or off. On the top panel, there are several ports, including an 8-pin power connector for the graphics card and an additional power port for external cooling fans. Two gold-plated sockets are available for attaching Wi-Fi antennas. However, the package does not include an SSD or a Wi-Fi card. Perhaps Beelink should consider offering a pre-configured version of the EX Docking Station. Additionally, there is a USB port on the top, but it only supports USB 2.0.
To ensure stability, the mini-PC, docking station, and graphics card are securely mounted after installation. While this setup is not the most portable solution for a LAN party, the assembly process is relatively quick. However, one major question remains: Why invest in a mini-PC, then buy a docking station, and potentially upgrade it with a dedicated graphics card from an older or more powerful system?
For the EX Docking Station to be a worthwhile investment, Beelink must provide long-term support. Even if users don’t upgrade their PC every year, they should at least be able to purchase a new mini-PC in a few years and still use it with the docking station. Whether this will be possible remains to be seen.
Users can choose their preferred graphics card. Beelink lists the NVIDIA RTX 4090 and AMD RX 7900 as compatible options. The built-in power supply can deliver up to 600 watts, so any GPU exceeding this power limit will need to be underclocked to reduce power consumption. GPU testing will begin once my ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7700 XT arrives.
The docking station is exclusively compatible with Beelink mini-PCs, as it lacks a Thunderbolt port for broader device connectivity. When using the EX Docking Station alongside a mini-PC, multiple power cables are unavoidable. However, since the GTi13 Ultra uses a standard power cable, at least two separate power bricks aren’t necessary.

Cooles System.
