They are most notable for their cannibalistic and necrophiliac predilections and for dwelling underground near the dead. They can hide as humans as young but eventually their true nature betrays them i like how lovecraft wrote ghouls and deep ones.

When I had finished writing this one, I did stop to think - "Yuck! These guys are pretty horrific!" :-)
They might be ugly, but they are sentient enough to be people. They do have Morrdigian whose is their Lord and Lord of Corpses.

I can't help but to be reminded of when I first read the 'ecology' section for sea zombies in the AD&D Greyhawk Adventures book. I think I was 11 at the time and it gave me shivers then much like this has given me now.

Thank you so much! I loved the detailed ecology sections of the AD&D books. I wish they still put out detailed material like that. But, actually, we are working on a Journey to the Tree of Sorrows RPG and this will be in its worldbook. So, I am glad that I have hit the mark with the writing style!
Please keep us informed about the rpg. I no longer play rpg's, but I've become a bit of collector as of late. I recently purchased the CoC Starter Set and a rendition of the D&D Rules Cyclopedia. Great stuff!

Nightmares & Dreamscapes by Stephen King had a story about musical idols who after they died became ghouls who inhabited a hidden town and fed on wayfarers who happened in on "Rock and Roll Heaven" whilst employing (enslaving) them to run the town and organize their neverending concerts. Buddy Holly, Stevie Richards, Janis Joplin, Frankie Lymon, Roy Orbison and others inhabit the town. Feeding and entertaining all who stumbled into their hidden town.

If you could do a Necronomicon for this iteration like Liber Malorum (Book of Sorrows) or something like this to be a book of lore and incantations (just for fun of course) for this iteration of the Cthulhu Mythos that would be awesome in which it is updated just like Dungeons and Dragons. Could you do this?
