Does 8-12lb fluorocarbon really hold better than braid of a similar diameter, which could be about, if not over, twice the poundage?
It’s not so much about holding up better, it’s about the visibility. I use braid tied with a double uni to fluorocarbon. But fluoro is more abrasion resistant than braid.
If you are using heavy gear to target any fish under 10lbs the something is off

No joke I caught my first walleye today I didn’t know they had fooking teeth and the fucker bit me 😂 and I’m using 20lb braid with a 10lb mono leader
And I was using a jointed shad swim bait
