Rodney's story hurts. I have relatives that dealt with similar family situations cause they are mixed. It seems that the stepdad accepted the sister cause she looks more white. But it makes it clear that Spud is all that Rodney has in his life.
Rodney is a cheeky chappy and one of my fav characters … I can’t stand women like his mother, she is an embarrassment to women, how could you put a man before your own child 🤷🏾♀️🤬
"Accepted" her because she "passes" for white, but also, he seems to be an abuser in general. The mum seems terrified of him, (the fact that she can just go along with a stranger coming in-between her and her children) and having a male (Rodney) around, makes him feel threatened. Racist and a misogynist. Unsurprisingly, common concurrence.
