Boccherini is just sublime. All of his quartet/quintet stuff is just flawless. Tasteful and perfectly balanced. warm sound, rich thick harmonies. noble, subtle, sensitive. I'll shut up and let the music speak for itself.
@@bexigah It's also because the superficial and repetitive nature of pop culture has taken over. You actually have to LISTEN to great music to appreciate it, not just whistle it while you're shaking your booty.
It's 22 now. Oh, no, mind you I like Boccherini as well as much as all 18th Cnt. composers. However, keep in mind: There are professionals listening to these recordings and professionals all have their preferences in terms of interpretation, tempo, dynamics, stylistic manner, etc. I doubt the dislikes were left by people who simply don't understand this kind of music. I hope so.
@@VinniePaah But would those professionals really leave a dislike to a recording that didn't match their preferences? I thought that they would appreciate alternative interpretations of classical works, even though they would've played it differently. Oh well, maybe I place the bar to qualify for a dislike too high.
Dear Carlos, of course their name might need to change. Plz don't assume they cannot improve. But I think what you meant to say is " you could not have chosen a better name." I only offer this alternative because in English it permits that in the future, they may choose another, possibly better name. I feel that you did not mean to limit your appreciation in this way. Someday, I hope to be able to speak Spanish. I hope you can wish me luck, that speakers of this language will show concern that I express myself clearly! Maybe I can learn. I don't know. (I'm getting old.)
This is such great music and I am so glad La Magnifica Comunita undertook the project to record Boccherini's string quintets. I hope they pick it back up and continue. It has been 9 years since the last release. The Opus 30 quintets should be next; please continue recording them, Brilliant Classics! Also, as others have pointed out, please put the movements of these quintets in their proper order. This music is intended to be heard in the correct order, not shuffled randomly.
Ravishing. Beautiful music and performance. I am a little puzzled by the scrambled playlist, especially since the recording on Brilliant Classics has everything in the correct order.
The movements for the G276 are Adagio assai - Allegro Giusto - Allegro (I pastori e I cacciatori) - Tempo di minuetto - Tempo di prima. How it comes that these movements are mixed-up? The adagio assai is at 00:59:19 and the 2d movement (Allegro giusto) is at 1:37:31 and even we have a movement of the G 275 at 1:50:58 between the 3d and the 4th movements . And even the G272 is completely mixed up. And this movement is completely different from the spirit of the G276. I think it's a shame for Brilliant Classics to give us just background music because is free.
The painting used as a background is "The Painter's Daughters With a Cat", of Mary and Margaret Gainsborough I believe (by Thomas Gainsborough, ~1760). The painting is unfinished. The girl on the left has a particular air of insouciance, my ex-partner happened to comment on it when I went with her to the National Portrait Gallery last Saturday.
Most today have stomach issues, so the fact they did not crave pears or apples was a matter of health issues. As children I was just as while and my brother was darker, so we had different cravings. He liked chicken white meat, I hated it, he would eat parsley, cilantro with bread just like that while I never did it.
I was wondering the same. The movements of each piece should not be broken up and mixed out of order with other pieces. Great music! It deserves to be presented in proper structure and order.
Why are the quintets movements mixed and in disorder? For example, the first mov. of G. 271 comes after the second mov. of G. 271. And between them there is the first mov. of G. 272.
Wonderful music! Don't mind the 10, and, 30 second advertising. It keeps our music flowing freely. However, I DO OBJECT to 4 minute diatribes, from the far right. While in the shower, I was held, a captive audience to an untruthful ad. UNSATISFACTORY!

18 no likes.... How strange is that with something as wonderful as this?
Social Justice Warriors in hatred with the "old opressing white culture" is what make this infamous 22 unlikes

Thank you very much. It's beautiful.
If you look into their history you will find they suffered a sad life.

Gracias Sr Aguilar por compartir ...
😍😍😍
Very nice. But guys please upload the Corelli trio sonatas. I know you have them, i used to own the cd.
😊
Why is the list in disarray?

Can't get the idea either...
Qué puedo agregar? Hermosa música barroca.
How about adding a correction: it’s classic period music, not baroque period.
Wait... are the movements of the various quintets really all jumbled up as shown in the description? A bit weird, no? Beautiful nonetheless...

The begining sounds like Mozart s Eine kleine nachtmusik
