They can get a lot bigger than that too. That is most likely including the weight of the engine, those Cat D398 engines weight approximately 7 tons by themselves, then about another 1000lbs in fluids (oil & coolant) the frame that it’s all bolted on would probably be about a ton then the rest would likely be the weight of the pump that I assume is cast iron
Pretty impressive little thing, running right off the generator's crank like that. Wait till you see water pumps on low speed diesels, like a Wartsila 50. You can't comprehend how much fluid they move

You have a finite amount of time per year to run gold. Every hour you are down is one less hour of running dirt and that much less gold at the end of the fiscal year. They have bills to pay, loans to pay, payroll to make, upkeep and maintenance to keep funded, and it doesnt matter that the gold is still in the ground if they dont get it out of there they cant sell it.
