Health issues can truly be critical. However, Shae is proving that even with health issues, a well cared for horse will look and feel amazing! (and especially compared to all I have seen in the public eye!) Shae also takes, what looks like, an average healthy horse and turns it into a Prince, without exception!!!

That just shows it doesn’t matter what age of horses it can still be as healthy as a younger horse, you have took in such good care of that horse, and I hope one day that I could be as good as you with horses❤
She is just so beautiful and living her best life. The horse I learnt to ride on sadly we lost her at 35. Thankfully I had the pleasure of watching my son also learning how to ride on her when she was 34. It just goes to show if they are looked after in their later years what can be achieved? She enjoys being ridden, going on trail rides and leading, she tolerates the fillies, but does relate to Belle as a senior mare with plenty of wisdom and for company, but she is not lonely bc she belongs to a herd, the Free Spirit Equestrian Herd, and she is healthy, happy, well-adjusted, AND ( like I said before) living her best life!! Bagheera, you are one in a million on the plus side. We all love you!!! ♥️🐎♥️
yh but 30 isn’t that old and as you grow older you do grow weaker older horses need more calories but the more calories the more energy and a retired horse will be in work but it will be much lighter then a 11 year old horse so you can’t feed too many extra calories just enough if age doesn’t effect how do people die of old age?
I just want to say how awesome this channel has been! My neighbor was an old lady who unfortunately passed around a year back and she owned 3 horses. Her son didn’t have the time to take care of them since he lived pretty far so he would just stock up the old barn with food and have me feed them. I eventually bought them and Free Spirt Equestrian’s tips and tricks have been so helpful! The senior went from being incredibly thin and skinny to now absolutely living her life running and healthy! Free Spirit has helped me so much taming down and easy training the horses with the touch-training and bonding. Thank you dearly! ❤❤
Bagheera has been a lucky horse. Whoever owned her before obviously took care of her for her to be in such good shape by this age and Shae has kept her going and improved her life. There will be a day when Bagheera can't be ridden but she seems to enjoy it so much. She found the perfect soft place to land and will live out her long days with her friends and Shae's gentle care.
You can't avoid aging forever, but for most horses, good care can keep them happy and healthy well into their senior years. And even for horses who have medical issues like miss Belle, good care can often maintain or even improve their body so they can have a good quality of life for as long as possible. You take such good care of all your animals and it shows.

Yes! I ride an 18 year old horse who is in great shape, we often place and win when we enter races (barrel racing and pole bending). I ride her 6 days a week and she absolutely loves it, she’s able to do a windmill at a canter on both sides just fine. Older horses should be in good condition of their taken care of properly (with the exception of health issues they already have). Bagheera looks absolutely stunning!

She looks awesome! I have a 36 year old Morgan gelding. I retired him at 30. He still thinks he's a spring chicken. He is sway backed, just like his sire was. And he has no teeth left. No problem. He loves his mash. He nickers for it, insisting he get his goodies first. Haha! I love my Laddie boy!❤🐎
What’s even better is because of you and your love & care for her health , wellness she doesn’t want to be 💯retired yet. You understand she still wants to work and needs too. I’ve learned alot about senior horses from you. Maybe you could do a video about senior horses, because they a lot left to give.
Activity is the best thing for a healthy horse. No matter the age. She might not be up to the Tevis cup, but she's still a great horse with a young heart.
Beautuful Bagheera landed on her hooves in her forever home at FSE. She has been an exceptional lady, helping Belle settle in and being her bestie and then a great Aunt to the foals esp Ariel. Bagheera is in great shape for 30 and a gorgeous girl.😻💕

BAGHEERA!! The Best uhm mistaken Auntie of Ezzy & Ariel. Besides being an awesome trail & lesson horse. Bagheera is the kind of horse we all would love to have & hang around with. So never underestimate what an older horse, w/an age low, mid to upper double digits, can become & Do + Will Do. All thru proper care, respect, guidance, trust and love from their human companions. Plus just being able to be a horse grazing & playing on an acre of land w/ or w/o other horse(s) yet hopefully an animal companion. Love you Ms Bagheera!🐎🥰 💜✌️🫶🦋
So true. My mom had a Morgan mare that she had gotten as an 8 yr old girl she left us the mare was 40 that is unherd of but Morgan are known for longevity and usefulness.
