What I used to do when racing with methanol, and putting the car in the garage, I would run regular gas until the car wouldn't run, When I needed to start the car the next time, it would start easier and then it would run normally again on methanol. That way the carby wouldnt gum up.
My dad pulled the rad out of his truck to put in the race car after a rock took out the rad, thankfully nothing happened in the feature cause that was in Proctor Minnesota (Rocktor) and we live in Thunder Bay Canada, roughly 4 hours away

17:00 a local guy back in the day blew his motor up and went out to the parking lot and got his wife’s camaro and brought it in pits and pulled the motor and stuck it in the race car
Tim I was wondering did you guys set your float levels on the carb, alcohol is nice it runs cooler but is messy we ran it in the late model and Sprint constant maintenance. The car looks good hope you can make the pull up to Lincoln Illinois Speedway this year 👍🇺🇸🏁🤙

We always poured a little gas down the carb and squirted fuel down the vent tubes with a ketchup bottle
