One would be hard pressed to find another artist whose meteoric rise parallels that of Belgium’s most exciting new export, Amelie Lens. She has, in a little more than a year, soared from relative anonymity to one of todays most in-demand DJ/Producers the world over.
With her debut release on Italian imprint Lyase gaining a massive amount of attention, Amelie seized the moment and quickly delivered her first release on Pan-Pot’s highly lauded label Second State and followed shortly after with a stellar EP on one of the undergrounds most championed outfits ARTS. At the same time her releases started to flow consistently on high level labels, Amelie started her own event EXHALE at Labyrinth Club where she invites todays hottest acts as well as her “All Night Long” sets which prove she embodies an equal mastery to that of her peers with years more experience. With these critical foundations laid, it was no time before she began headlining the industries most acclaimed events. As if it wasn’t apparent after all this, Amelie is just getting going and there seems to be no decrease in her pursuit of world wide dance floor domination.
EXIT is the two-time winner of the “Best Major European Festival” award along with the continuous recognition by the global music stars, fans and media alike.
Held each year at the 18th Century colossal Petrovaradin Fortress in the city of Novi Sad in Serbia, EXIT started as a student movement whose massive protests brought down the oppressive regime in Serbia. EXIT became the first mass event to gather all the people in Balkans after a long decade of divisions.
Celebrated as a place where hedonism meets activism, it is the social relevance of EXIT that has made it unique and globally recognized hosting stars like The Prodigy, Arctic Monkeys, Madonna, The Killers, Sex Pistols, Guns’n’Roses, Arcade Fire, Beastie Boys, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Nina Kraviz, Patti Smith, Motorhead, LCD Soundsystem, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, Andy C, DJ Shadow, and countless many more at 30+ stages in nearly two decades since its inception in 2000. (Exeuce my english please....) I want to really thanks for sharing!!! I listen tekno mostly, because I'm so high from that and in completely another reality, without drugs (but with little beer :D). But I really love Amelie's techno, because she has the same effect to me. I have so much energy, I want to live and my body and mind is really in completely another reality, in the pefect place......my english is not so good to say how perfect place it is :), I can say just that, I love ALL of her sets!!! I was a US House and US Garage DJ back in the day. Amelie is something else.
She is soooo friggin awesome. She absolutely destroys the millenials tho, lol. They have no idea how to take this for an hour much less a set like you and i would be accustomed, i'm sure you did you're share of 3hr garage sets back then, some dark warehouse maybe with no air and youre sweating balls off onto your vinyl and decks, but you keep plugging on cause when you look up from your tables you see that group just dancing their pants off in front of DJ table and speakers. You had to lol, it was your civic duty; play till you couldn't anymore. I went to an after-show event with Frankie Bones and Micro and this dude named Phoenix, all from NYC, and thats what they did. Frankie was sweating like he was in a shower, said to me " hey bro, i'm about to fucking mind-stamp these motherfuckers, can you go get me a giant water and lets do this". 4am to 8 or so. 500 people got a DJ beatdown from those 3. DJ Micro in afterhours was a wizard. Legends.

Amelie! thank you for bringing the full power all the time!!! Love it. Hope the acid scene continues to return , and i dont even mean acid techno. The millenials have no idea what i'm talking about but i just listened to this set last night putting tracks together for some of my own DJ stuff i just mess around with or play at parties or small gigs, and i micro-dosed w half X too and i cannot even put into words what the layers of some of these tracks with that SICK ASS bass line, really cool effects done just right not over the top useless sounds, i wish i could translate what the headphones and even full room speakers sounded like. Wowza. Anyways- just incredible evening last night of music + intellectual stimulation from a mental medicine perfect for someone like me that isn't a person trying to "trip out" or get high, and yes i would say i am technically high on lsd/mdma and not denying it or ashamed lol, but i'm a smart dude just have a brain that got banged pretty good from auto ejection and also had previous concussions due to other things/places not important now, but i sometimes just mention i am advocate of these tools of brain therapy rather than the crap that was pushed on me like Zoloft/Prozac/Lexapro/Dilautid/Movigil/Wellbutrin/ basically Drs experimented on my brain for 10yrs and nearly wiped the patient off map. Then i was like hey, i am a smart guy, research...oh ya...LSD Pshyocillibin Shrooms, MDMA, DMT, ahhhh. Better and not a single SSRI pill in 8 years. i work out, box (bags not people lol) DJ, work, date, music sounds good, all things i lost for several years. WTF was my point? OH, Amelie thanks for sets like this lol. You and Deb DeLuca and Marika Rossa are my dope now!!!
