991.2 GT3: Dundon Street Header and Lifetime Muffler is PERFECTION!

- My two loves for the Porsche: AWE and Dundon! Dundon was my first love and I had this exhaust on my other GT3 and wanted to change it up. The AWE is by far the best exhaust for the money when it comes to incredible sound, but the Dundon is just on a whole different level when it comes to quality, R&D, power, fit and finish. I'm using the Loud variant of the muffler in this video and have had it for my other two 911s. If you can swing it, this is definitely the exhaust to have. Stay tuned for some proper exhaust videos on this setup!

Ive been a licensed tech for over 20 years and your explanation of torquing is bang on correct, anyone that thinks differently doesn't have a clue.
Bought it at the time on your recommendation, absolutely loved it. Top service, top product, and a sound to die for.
Learned about AWE from you back when you had your white F80...been thru -6-7 exhausts on my BMWs thru past decade and AWE is BY FAR the best exhaust out of any I've ever had! So thanks again for being here for us car (and garage) enthusiasts 🙌

There is a local PCA member who has an 991.2 GT3 with a center section bypass. His girlfriend lives in the same village as I do. The main road is about 1.5 miles from my house. If I’m outside when he hits the main road, I can hear him get on it. I hear loud cars on that road, mostly Mustangs, Dodges and Corvettes likely.
But NOTHING compares to the shifts from the PDK-S on a GT Porsche. Whop! Whop! Whop! Sooooo distinct.
PDK makes for some insane noises. Sounds great.

You know what Matt, some crazy reason I’ve always thought that Porsches would be hard to work on but man they look easy at least you make it look easy! Never mind Matt you’re actually talking about the same thing right now lol
Matt, instead of letting those H mounts float, maybe look into including nylon bushings to absorb that chassis resonance you're feeling...at least this way, every mount point is secured and don't have to worry about hitting a lovely bump in the road that my potentially impact your headers because of the free floating weight of the exhaust
You can get rubber anti-vibration washers as well, that would work perfectly

Matt... recently got a .2 gt3 and it came with the full catless Dundon exhaust package. Never heard or experienced anything like it... no words to describe the real soundtrack. When you pull off and redline it everybody turns around and be like...WTF??!! Lol

Hello Matt, what brand of valves uses DunDon in its side mufflers?

Matt, I have a 991.2 Carrera T (PDK). Not sure I can justify a $14k exhaust…what exhaust setup would you recommend for that car, and would you also have other recommendations on straightforward engine upgrades, am wondering about doing turbos and exhaust. Thanks

I still surprises me with how particular you are you can stand yellow brakes and green interior accents. Feels like those should match to me at least. Regardlessly, though sound amazing, and those wheels are sick.
I don’t understand the fascination with need to match brake calipers and interior. There is no correlation.
@@ObsessedGarage I dont know, it makes sense my in head that those are always a kind of "accent color" and would match throughout the car. That's how I've always looked at it, but to each their own. I mean the cars obviously sick and only demented people like us ever notice the little things like that Lol

Hey Matt. Many thanks for the comprehensive review. I am driving a 991 Touring as my daily and I put in on race tracks about 3 to 4 times a year. Noise regulations are quite stringent on European race tracks: 100Db is the absolute maximum. For this reason I am considering to buy a Dundon exhaust with the quiet muffler and add the quiet tips when I am going on a race track, Did you experience the quiet muffler? The dundon folks said that power-wise there is only a couple of Hp lost vs a loud muffler, but I am concerned about losing a big part of the sound experience that the loud muffler brings. Your insights would be super welcome!
Hmmm.... I have never heard the quiet version. I suspect it's still pretty awesome. The loud muffler is pretty darn loud, so toning it down a bit would still leave plenty of room for it to sound great.

Hey Matt I have the Dundon Street and intake and use with a RS titanium center on my GT3 Touring … the Lifetime loud is heavier but to you think the much difference in sound between the two beside louder? Thank you for video
It takes the hollowness out of the exhaust note. I think it’s worth it.

Did you ever try the soul performance exhaust. It looks very similar to the AWE.

With this exhaust system that you just installed in video did you see any yellowing on rear of car with the dundon street headers and cats
I did on the catless version. You really need the cats.
When you installed the cats and headers did you get any yellowing as well

Let me guess +100hp. Dundon has the most ridiculous claims on their exhausts!
I’ve tested them myself. I got +40 whp on my 991.1 GT3 with their catless system. Then tested by roll racing a .1 RS and walked away from it. Their data is very scientific and quite accurate.
Nothing compared to Akrapovic unfortunately..
Akra is really bad for this car and most others.
@@ObsessedGarage Akra is the best performance exhaust for most sports cars. Specially for the GT3 RS. It's not always about the sound..
I have a 991.2 GT3 (manual) and recently installed the DUNDON catted street headers but kept the stock center muffler for now and the car sounds INCREDIBLE and seems to “breathe” much better. I agree .. if you can swing the cost and truly want to transform your GT3 Dundon is best by far. Thanks for all your videos Matt, greatly appreciated!!
