Today in the fab kitchen we are going to use cutting board material to mount our equipment, you are a genius, one day I will use your videos to help with my build.
Thanks for the tip on the plastic. I'll have to check that out. My FJ Cruiser has really weird 6x9 speakers that I'm thinking about making a custom plate for. It's been 20+ years since I've done any car audio, so I really appreciate your videos as a modern refresher!
Great video Mark, one of the best I have seen over the years, in regards to speed, flow, content, editing, no infomercial, not trying to be ott like doug.
Really clean work. Gave me a couple great ideas to use on my own builds. I also am very interested in a tool review, the original tool used to put in those rivets was not hard to use in the first place and also didn't need as much space where the drill is used in this new tool. But I look forward to seeing the pros and cons of this new device. Thanks again!
I've learned so much from your videos and now I really feel confident about fabricating an amp rack and battery mount to clean up my nest of wiring and top up the power supply in my '13 Civic. Absolutely LOVE doing this myself! It's incredibly satisfying to create something like this!
Love that battery box Mark with the Cnc cut out that’s cool. But that riveting tool is bad ass definitely getting one. The build is coming along beautiful 👍💯✌️
I LOVE the logical way in which you work. It's hugely motivating to a noob like me :) Thanks for your kick-ass channel (and for your epic sub box design recently, The Build begins soon!).
Great job Mark that was very creative work!!! 👍👍👍 Keep those great videos coming they are very helpful, and they give people like myself some good ideas towards future car audio installs!!!!
I'm really liking the new format of "speed video" and music. Great job! One quick question though. Are these vehicles yours, or are they builds for customers? Keep up the great work!
Both batteries connect to each other at the distribution block (+ to +, for parallel wiring). The alternator is already wired to the first battery, which now also has the second battery in circuit.
Really curious to see how you further secure the battery. Awesome work thus far. I'm basically working in the same trunk (Buick Regal) and am in the planning stages of the trunk area and layout myself.
I was hoping you were going to talk about how you wired the battery, meaning are you using a relay or isolator or running it parallel? Maybe I've missed it but I watch about 5 of your videos. Nice work as always Mark!
Enjoy your videos. I have not seen it yet in your videos, but how about a video for us guys who have high performance ignition systems that have low resistance wires in the old muscle cars (1968 Chevelle). What strategies can one use to keep the EMI/EFI noise out of the radio. I just use a good radio with an old equalizer. If I run my system directly to a separate battery from the car battery I have no noise in the radio/CD/ Cassette system. Now when I hook up the equalizer there is still some noise with this setup. Hooking this system up to the car battery there is a lot of noise.
Very clean look surprised didn't make both mounting bases one price though ... anxious to see it progress I'm doing a stealth sub box in my 2018 sonic soon
I like the set up your going with my thing is the positive a d negative to the battery you have facing the to the side of the car. Idk but I always like to leave a lot of room so I don't accedently hit the car when I'm bolting up the positive terminal on the battery
Did you setup the battery terminals to face towards the car body rather than towards the power dist. blocks for aesthetics and wire/cable routing? My thoughts would be to flip the battery so the wire runs to the blocks was shorter. This might be answered in the wiring video, but thought I'd ask here.
Hi your videos are very helpfull and offcourse good. I am going to install pioneer gm dx975 in my 2015 toyota corolla, it has 88 ampare battery installed does it need extra battery.
Love these how to's! Doing a new system in my '02 Ranger ex-cab. 4 15s in a sealed cabinet. Should I seal them from each other or should they all in an open cabinet?
My question is how are you connecting the rear battery to the electrical system? Is there an identical battery in parallel under the hood, or do you have an isolator inline to separate the two while the engine is off? I use a 300 amp isolator solenoid myself. I don't want extended parking lot listening sessions interfering with the cars main battery. Just curious what method you use. And as always, love the videos man.
When i took the doorpanels off my car and put them back, they started squeaking and rattling like hell. Did i break something or are they designed not to be taken off? :D
Fantastic work mark! I love the rivet tool and will definitely look into that. I really enjoy your progress and you put videos online because it keeps my thoughts going for when I finally finished my car.
Only 2 bolts per panel to secure it to the trunk? Seems like that large panel should have at least one more on the farther side, unless you are going to build up a lot more vertically and secure to top of the trunk.
In your Grand Cherokee project mounting all of the amps behind the molding of the car, how do you handle heat issues? I have a 2020 Ford Fusion that I want to put the amplifier where the spare tire goes because unfortunately new Fords do not come with a spare tire but there's lots of space there to use. I mounted my amp there and it started getting extremely hot where it had not done that before. I also may think I want to recheck the ground but how do you handle heat?
What the hell, every time I see you videos I feel I should step my build up. I like the distribution box. With those XS batteries do I need the main battery a XS too or can I get away with just 1 for now?
I live in Rural SC Alaska, our only store that carried solar equipment closed last winter. Amazon does not ship to my area. This is my reasoning for asking.
For those of you who use your spare tires location, what do you do if you get a flat tire? Keep a can of Fix A Flat in your vehicle along with a AAA membership? I ask bcuz I need to get rid of my spare tire to replace it with a subwoofer enclosure, amp rack, battery, etc.
hey, out of topic, but...... If im limited in space to upgrade to big alternator, what should i do? i can only install 120a alternator, but i thought adding a 140aH battery will do the trick(stock battery is 77aH)? i have 2k rms woofer, 500w rms of highs, mids etc. so 2.5k rms total, that requires roughly 181aH just for itself.
"limited space"? What are you talking about? I've owned several 260, 280, and even 300a HO alts and they're factory size speced. Unless you have some weird car with a super tiny alt.
BassHead 37 you should look for the alternator brand....usually there are alternators from the same manufacturer that are higher amperage but with the same size....probably something from a vlokswagen van....i am trying the same for my fiat.....
I doubt it since he said it's expanded PVC which means that even though it's rigid, it's structural integrity is no where near that of equivalent MDF. I believe the reason he's using it is that it's lighter than wood or MDF and easy to work with but don't quote me on that.
Marine ply isn't a bad option for wetter environments. I've got several big chests of drawers made out of this stuff in my workshop. It's strong and while not impervious to water, is vastly more tolerant of getting wet than MDF.
Hey my name is Austin Sarratt I just got a new car and I've always been interested in what you do! You though myself I'm not very inclined when it comes to vehicle's. If you get the time too you can find me on Facebook under that name so I can explain my situation through message it would be most helpful for a subscriber like me too see what you're professional opinion would be thankyou!!! Keep up the amazing work!!
This channel is like a master class in car audio
a true craftsman. Very impressive
Thank you u

Man that battery setup looks cool
love that new tool, distribution center was on point

Well played on the video editing to the music! That rivet drill attachment looks dope!
great use of left over scrap wood as templates.
Yeah that's super clean! I like that drill for the insert rivits.... ima have to get 1!
Great video Mark, one of the best I have seen over the years, in regards to speed, flow, content, editing, no infomercial, not trying to be ott like doug.
Nice and clean job.
Excellent work bro
Looks sweet so far!
Awesome box!
Was JUST planning my second battery location! I like that tool you use. I may have to pick that one up for mine! Good work Mark!
Sweet battery box
Awesome work Marky Mark. Absolutely have to try some of that pvc material. Ill probably end up marrying it lmao.
Really clean work. Gave me a couple great ideas to use on my own builds. That is such great work, Mark buddy. Thanks for this and all your tips!

A+ on the beat selection today
Nice work bud!

Great Video. Awesome job
youre the best doing all this wish i had this talent and tools lol

His family members I believe
Another fantastic video 👍🏼
I would like to know how you would connect the battery that in the trunk. Do you go straight to the alternator? Would you have to upgrade it too?
Both batteries connect to each other at the distribution block (+ to +, for parallel wiring). The alternator is already wired to the first battery, which now also has the second battery in circuit.
Creative creations.❤❤❤❤
Please use 12 zip ties for your battery tie down
Really curious to see how you further secure the battery. Awesome work thus far. I'm basically working in the same trunk (Buick Regal) and am in the planning stages of the trunk area and layout myself.
what type drill bit is that at 8:14?
I was hoping you were going to talk about how you wired the battery, meaning are you using a relay or isolator or running it parallel? Maybe I've missed it but I watch about 5 of your videos. Nice work as always Mark!
Dope build i love

Thumbs just because you said it helps
Very clean look surprised didn't make both mounting bases one price though ... anxious to see it progress I'm doing a stealth sub box in my 2018 sonic soon
A piece of PVC that size is $$$. Plus this makes it better to service in separate pieces.
Understandable !!
I like the set up your going with my thing is the positive a d negative to the battery you have facing the to the side of the car. Idk but I always like to leave a lot of room so I don't accedently hit the car when I'm bolting up the positive terminal on the battery
Pavel Galeta I noticed that as well
remove the negative terminal first so it won't matter :)
@@lachlanjordan1285 Ever heard of Murphys law?
Did you setup the battery terminals to face towards the car body rather than towards the power dist. blocks for aesthetics and wire/cable routing? Hi your videos are very helpfull and offcourse good.
I am going to install pioneer gm dx975 in my 2015 toyota corolla, it has 88 ampare battery installed does it need extra battery.
are you going to use a dual batt isolator or just parallel off of the starting battery?
I like the look of the plastic, I’m sure is lighter on the vehicle rather than using wood. I would’ve left the battery more accessible though.
Love these how to's! Doing a new system in my '02 Ranger ex-cab. 4 15s in a sealed cabinet. Should I seal them from each other or should they all in an open cabinet?
Look mah, no gloves lol. This build is already looking beautiful. Salivating for more, keep em coming bro
Looking badass!
Hey Mark, 2 question is a battery isolator is necessary when adding another battery and does it really prolong the life of the batteries?
Love your work I would KILL for you to hook my system up
the battery box looks nice, the thing i don't like is that it seems you have to remove that whole panel to get the battery in and out
Exelente . Sigue aai
Can you use a deep cycle battery as a second battery?
My question is how are you connecting the rear battery to the electrical system? Is there an identical battery in parallel under the hood, or do you have an isolator inline to separate the two while the engine is off? I use a 300 amp isolator solenoid myself. I don't want extended parking lot listening sessions interfering with the cars main battery. Just curious what method you use. And as always, love the videos man.
Doesn't a foundation' usually end up with the trunk being all batteries and amps?
When i took the doorpanels off my car and put them back, they started squeaking and rattling like hell. Did i break something or are they designed not to be taken off? :D
Doesn't matter what you did Doug
When someone cuts you off in traffic, and you're just like: mechanical fasten you, dude!

Well mark , i have a secondary battery and a capacitor... can I ground the amps( 2 400x2 rockfords and 1 1000x5 ) at my 10 farad capacitor?
In your Grand Cherokee project mounting all of the amps behind the molding of the car, how do you handle heat issues? Mark, did you get the PVC panels from homedepot? I checked and only found 8" wide boards and molding
What the hell, every time I see you videos I feel I should step my build up. I like the distribution box. With those XS batteries do I need the main battery a XS too or can I get away with just 1 for now?
I would be nervous with that set up holding the battery one good smake and it will go flying around .
Why are you using CA glue instead of PVC primer and cement?
What kind of screws are those that you drilled through the Abs, and where can I get them?
Love the vids thank you:)
How do I know if I need an additional battery for my Car Audio System?
Mark, your link to plastic still doesn’t work.... it leads to nowhere in the end.....
I have a queastion:
The second battery won't kill the generator? I think the car's generator is dimensioned for one battery, or am i wrog?
I do have a question about the batteries you use. Can they be used in a solar storage configuration?
They could be used for that but would not be the most cost effective choice.
I live in Rural SC Alaska, our only store that carried solar equipment closed last winter. Amazon does not ship to my area. This is my reasoning for asking.
Beautiful work as always! Plus that track you had playin had my head noddin' big time :0)
What cnc router did you make the CAF logo with?
🔥🔥🔥
What have you done to vent the hydrogen released from the battery?
Research the battery, not an issue
CarAudioFabrication how many Ah do you recommend as a min for deep cycle batteries if running an audio system?
Where can I find that distro block you're using?

Check the link here for a video I did about the material I use th-cam.com/video/G9hZ1H9m7Ko/w-d-xo.html
Thx Mark
Does anyone know where I can get the countersink bit he is using?
why dont you make some kind of cool battery hold down instead of a strap. cool video
Make a billet aluminum battery top plate mount power dist.block on the top plate short wire runs PS your fab is top notch
Should have put some kind of hinges so it's easier to remove the battery instead of removing the whole battery mount.
is that lead-acid battery u use?
its a sealed battery, can be mounted upside down and requires no venting to exterior

I'm just wondering what will happen if you flip your car? Why didnt you secure battery in place?
Watch the whole video, you missed what I mentioned about this
He's going to use a strap, that he hasn't yet ordered, to hold it down 😉
Make the battery strap out of polished Unicorn horn.
And start wearing dreadlocks.
