Terrible and terrific both mean to inspire terror, but the connotation is different. Pratchett had a good quote about this in "Lords and Ladies":
“Elves are wonderful. They provoke wonder.
Elves are marvelous. They cause marvels.
Elves are fantastic. They create fantasies.
Elves are glamorous. They project glamour.
Elves are enchanting. They weave enchantment.
Elves are terrific. They beget terror.
The thing about words is that meanings can twist just like a snake, and if you want to find snakes look for them behind words that have changed their meaning.
No one ever said elves are nice.
    Elves are bad.”

    Small correction.
Thengel was Eomer's grandfather. Theoden was Thengel's son, and Thengel's youngest daughter was Theoden's sister and Eomer's mother, and yes, the current royal family was part Gondorean, since Thengel wed Morwen of Lossenarch of Gondor, as famous a beauty as the original Morwen.

Excellent video. Just so you know, the Bible has two levels of fear of G-d. The first level is fear of punishment. In knowing the mighty powers of G-d, one fears the outcome of one's actions. The second level is awe, which is fear of the awesomeness of G-d Himself. I don't understand that level much, not being at that level.

Why are you censoring the word God?

@joedredd1168 Many Orthodox Jews write the Name that way so that if someone prints it out they shouldn't throw G-d's Name into the garbage. While I doubt that would happen here, I still show my respect to G-d by honoring His Name and not spelling it out.

@@mordechai- I have seen diffrent people of Abrahamic faith censoring diffrent words for this exact reason. For some they will not say YHWH, for some it is Jehovah, for some Elohim, and for some it is God. I am curious if this is a denominational thing, a personal preference thing, a language thing, or if these names get more associated with god over time and therefore develope the stigma. No pressure if you don't know the answer, you just sparked my curiosity.
