  • On this Old Byrd Farm video, I am excited to teach our teenage intern the essential skill of mowing a field. As we work together, it's more than just cutting grass - it's about passing down knowledge and fostering a connection with the land. Teaching future generations the importance of hard work, responsibility, and land stewardship ensures that the legacy of Old Byrd Farm continues to thrive. Join us as we share skills and stories, nurturing the next generation of farmers. #OldByrdFarm #TeachingTheFuture #FarmLife #LandStewardship

Great job, Cordelia! You really picked the tractor driving up quickly, and you are getting the camera work down, too! And not even afraid to crawl under the bush hog, which, I agree with Robert, is very unsafe and a terrible idea. And, Robert it was so nice to see your patience with teaching-not every girl who grew up on a farm is lucky enough to have that! I hope we see more of Miss Cordelia on the OBF!

Greens are definitely best for the fall/winter gardening . If they make it through the summer without going to seed, they will do far better in the cooler weather. Bring planted in partial shade may should help keep them from bolting. The cooler weather will also take care of the pests. I usually dont even try to grow collards or any other brassicas in the hot weather.
I enjoy watching the mowing process. Its amazing how the areas open up with a good mowing. I could use a tractor just like that!
