Well at least I'm not alone I was going to get a mobile home upon retirement(having lived in an apartment all my life) but now mobile homes are skyrocketed in price(100k) so an RV is still reasonable🤔

My wife and I camp in a 17' camper which is in reality 14' and although we make the bed every morning it will look cluttering because of coffee cups, cooking utensils that we use. So never mind some people who never camped in a small space. It seems that my wife is sweeping all the time at least when I come in or the dog comes in. Love your little home

Look I have Had a lot Of Wood stoves in my life when When creosote build-up Get a stove pipe Wire brush It's cone shaped It cleans it out very well And if you start to get A little more build-up after you cleaned it Run a little bit of red devil in it It keeps it from coming back very long time I know this I used to Cut firewood for a living
Flip the axel over I did on my 53 Ajo camper all you have to do it drill a new hole for the leaf spring bolt to keep axel from moving I don't drag mine on the ground any more plus I put 16'' wheels and tires on it
That's what I was planning on doing! Unfortunately, I have a lowered "U" shaped axel. Will have to buy a new one that's straight. 1953? I guess it's all wood inside, must be nice!
If the trailer axle is on top of the leaf spring, you can take one end of the springs loose, and the axle, and mount the axle below the springs to have the trailer higher. To set the axle squared, you measure from the spring/shackle mounts carefully to the axle. More ground clearance. You'll have to raise the hitch ball too. You want the trailer and tow vehicle setting level.
@@PtiteLifestyle -- I thought so , from the vintage of your trailer and how low it is sitting , it looks like someone has put the ''U'' axle on with the open part of the ''U'' pointing upward . EASY to fix (time consuming to do properly , but easy , --- I've done it several times) --- First , you need to jack up the trailer while cribbing all four corners (you need the trailer high enough to remove the wheels , and stable enough that it won't fall on you while you're working on it) , -- Next , you need to remove the wheels , and then loosen the Shackle Bolts holding the Axle to the Springs (do not remove the Axle -- just loosen it) , and Rotate the Axle 180 degrees so that it now looks like an UPSIDEDOWN ''U''. Now retighten the Shackle Bolts clamping the Axle to the Spring (doing this on both sides) , and remount your wheels . Jack up the trailer and remove the cribbing . You should now have gained considerable ground clearance . And , as mentioned above , you need to change the hitch ball too .
Sounds like it could be done fairly easily with a normal trailer. Try and watch the end of my “walk around” video, I show the axel. It has a drop of about 7 inches and it’s curved. I’m pretty sure I need to swap it to lift it. I’ll soon do a full video about it.
@@PtiteLifestyle -- WOW ! , Now I see your problem ( I watched EP1 ) , that is without a doubt the flimsiest trailer frame that I have ever seen . If that were mine , I'd completely replace that entire frame using much heavier guage steel framing ( and give it a Back Bumper & Spare Tire Mount ) . Remount the Spring HANGERS to the bottom of the frame and then turn the ''U'' Axle UPSIDEDOWN . -- ( P.S. : I currently have 9 trailers , and have lived in trailers most of my adult life --- Retired , Miner for over 50 years , living in trailers moving from Mining Camp to Mining Camp . ) . Currently living in a 1979 38 foot Kountry Aire 5th Wheel .
If you run all the joints with the crimp facing down, any creosote will stay in the pipe and somewhat get burned up. I would think that part of the problem is the flue gases cool on the way up that long pipe allowing creosote to condense out. You could probably go with a little shorter vertically pipe. You could also insulate the outside pipe. I did it on my sauna stove by separating some rocksol/rock wool into a thin layer and then wrapping the next size up of snap together heating duct around it. This keeps the flue gas hotter and it will draw better.
That subconsciously make so much sense, I worked as an apprentice gas fitter when I was in my twenties. I probably just hooked it up the same as a gas fireplace without thinking! Thanks for your input!
Your pipes are upside down Turn them upside down and that creosote will go back in your stove and burn off I did the same mistake at my camp lol Hope it helps resolve your problem
I really like how you inexpensively fabricated your stove, using a commercially manufactured tool box, stovepipe and sheet metal. That it kept your travel cabin warm and comfortable in those temperatures shows that you did a good job, and the fuel being freely available is a good thing, too! I don't think those campers were particularly well insulated, and I would consider fixing foam boards of at least 25mm thickness tothe underside, which wil be a noticeable improvement.
small space uses a small wood stove and a small diameter flue. Since you can't burn a big fire to heat up the oversize flue, my humble suggestion is to get a small wood stove with a 2.5" diameter flue. Much shorter flue. You can burn high heat periodically to prevent creosote buildup, and not get your cabin overheated. Since it is a diy woodstove, might be a good idea to design one with 2nd wood gas burn capability. Hotter cleaner air up the flue also prevents creosote formation.

There should always be a open hunting camp on the logging trails that everyone can use. Now that being sisd the logging rds are always so muddy n then harden like that bad in winter. But a goof place to park bedidr them n use the smaller trees lol 😊

I'm planning on making a small wood stove from a propane tank. Lots of videos on YT, and I've seen some for sale, second hand. Seems like a perfect size for the space.
You need your chimney pipe with the male sections pointed down towards your fire. You need a damper in you pipe so you can regulate your fire. It would help too to rig an air control for your fire box. The way your draft is set up your going to burn fast and hot! Most important get a battery carbon monoxide alarm for your trailer. You don't want to wake up dead. Good luck. :)
How about just putting a clear sheet of stick on polymer of sufficient size so that it's easier to wipe off and you'd then be able to peel it off and replace it if you like . Maybe that kind of stuff that just clings on like comes on a glass screen during shipment . Cool camper .
To dry the wood with the stove without making a mess, you could try making a metal box next to or on top or the stove. And to boil/warm up water you can also make a similar box for that as well. In finland we use those in Saunas to have warm water that you can mix with cold water to use for washing your butt
I was hoping to build a latch outside connecting to a box under the stove. I could fill it without creating a mess. I first need to create a way to have more free time to work on projects… Thanks for your input!

Lovely video. Grab yourself a sock or a microphone cover to stop wind noise when recording outside. Be careful the door doesn't lock behind you when you go out. Happend to me at night while it was snowing- not good. Those door latches can't be trusted. Van looks like a great hideaway!

5:21 You are right, stove pipes are normally ran in such a way that any condensation (or creosote) can run along the inside of the pipe and when it hits a join it runs into the next...So joints are normally ran the more upper pipe piece sits inside the lower piece... Any condensation can then run down to the firebox and get reburned... probably a good idea to get or make a fitting tlud insert so you can burn pellets and really small pieces of low resin woods...
@@PtiteLifestyle If you look on youtube for a video called "Smokeless Burn Barrel" you will get the idea of TLUD. Obviously a burn barrel is the 50 gallon version of the principle...but you can figure something out which fits your toolbox stove... BTW: I would try and get hold of two 5L gas bottles and come up with a more slim and compact idea, possibly a TLUD integrated into the stove itself...because the tool box stove is (like you said) anything but a little stove...just saying...

@@PtiteLifestyle I bought a cheap ass shielded wire welding machine a few months back and I am excited to try it on a somewhat more elaborate project like the construction of a small but long (6 hrs) burning stove for my camper van. I intend to use three 5L propane bottles which give about 90% of the materials I need to do the fabrication. I have a sketch of you are interested in dutch but I am sure you can make heads and or tails from it... It is not Werner von Brauns V2 rocket but a TLUD stove... My idea is to have stove without any hatches or openings to the interior of the van but for cleaning and maintenance purposes with a detachable bottom (ashtray/bin) and a dedicated air intake (with control) and obviously a smoke exhaust and maybe even a cooking surface on top with a hinged lid to cover it if not in use. To get a better understanding of TLUD, you can also look for videos on these chinese stainless steel tlud camping cooking stoves, called LIXADA... same as the smokeless burn barrel but wayyyy smaller. Look for: "Lixada Wood Gasifier Stove" on TH-cam...
Exterior cleanup access sounds like a good idea. Not sure you wanna go out to refill the stove every time when it’s freezing out, lol! I’ll check out those videos, thanks for the info.
YOU NEED STAINLESS PIPE AND PIPE CLEANING COMPOUND WHICH YOU JUST PUT IN YOUR FIRE ONCE IN A WHILE TO DISSOLVE THE CREOSOTE (which is dangerous to inhale btw). Stainless does not collect creosote it stays moderately clean esp. with the cleaning gravel they sell at Walmart for wood stoves.
I built that one, not the greatest, but gets the job done. There’s a couple of brand I dream of: cubic mini and tiny wood stove. Two awesome choice, but really expensive. Thanks for following the build of my camping setup!

@@PtiteLifestyle also another option is making biofuel methane you can find making methane in an ibc on here and also a video on here converting a generator to run on methane which convert to electric to charge off grid batterys or just use the generator as and when needed I'm going off grid so I will be using these options.. all the best
That’s sounds interesting. I’m only camping, so to complicated for me, but to go offgrid, might be a good option. You can also convert a propane stove to methane.
You should take off the door completely It would make more room for you if it's just you By yourself then you don't need a door on your bathroom that you use for storage and You should change your axles and entire on your trailer to something a little bit bigger so that it would get off the ground
Few people mentioned that I should have a curtain instead. I’m currently evaluating my options for a lift and bigger tire. It’s more complicated than at first glance. The wheel well is not that big. I’ll have a video about it soon.

You’re right. This was a test run, I don’t want to cut a hole in the roof if I don’t know what I really want my setup to be. Eventually, I probably will.
One way easy & very cost effective would be 2 make your stove draw from small bottom feed right threw camper floor ... simple stainless dog dish for a oil/wood stove the oil burns clean & hot enough for a ash clean pipe. ✌ 💔🇺🇸
Since the camper is so small, you need to buy a marine wood stove. It’s a tiny wood stove that hangs on the wall & uses small pieces of wood or pellets. A lot of Tiny Homes use them. Cute camper though.

Get your wood stove figured out first. Next tackle the exterior of your camper like motion lights etc. Keep your interior clean. it looks a little cluttered and a bit dirty. Your camper is pretty cool. I'm sure it will look nice once you're done remodeling. Thanks for sharing your video.
Hi i have a cand ham camper and a 2004 grand cherokee 4.0 i have been camping 4yr now and my dog keeps predators away his breed was designed to hunt lions my camper has solar and all electric when off grid it has 12v. Led spots on all sides and camera ports for a dashcam its all inside!
I have all the knowledge to build any size system mine is 12v Harber Freight Thunderbolt system and WM deep cycle lead asid 620 amp hrs. Start with that and a 410W inverter peek at 750W. Add as you can afford my next buy was a 2000W puresign wave inverter for my camper peek at 3000W. I only draw 20 amps and all electric but stove top add all your appliances draw at peek and build up from their add another whole system and 3 more batteries i parallel pure copper cables a must and a 2000amp fuise and cutoff switch it tells you what to do in the systems papperwork Do Not use grid power in your camper keep it seperat if not damage to All even the ground look for a steel pole you can groud it that is your best bet DC is dangerous if not done right its not like AC it can kill even 12v.

The propane fridge in mine was under the stovetop and grees driped down the drip pan weep whole and cought the piolet on fire no moor propane but my stove top just saying!
You gotta clean that out canadian tire has those things you clean it with. They suuwllybgive u an insulated pipe that goes insode it too. Thatll srop alot of it n try to use hardwood no pine cedar n if u purchase those cedar fence oanels theyre liek 3 to 5 bucks one at a time n u can slowly add them to them. I know a man who gets those trailers cheap ans in way better shape. Dsd has a box of thode lights some place. Led lights be better but he always had saved his in the garabge. If your close by i may havean idea for yous if you dont have another trailer or have one repairs yet. I know this is an old video but it sure looks to be close to where i live. The trails i take some times 😊

You’re right that green wood creates creosote. But my wood was definitely long dry, I was mostly burning balsam fir which is an extremely sappy wood and on top of it I was snuffing it to amber, otherwise it burns way to hot. I think it’s a combination of things. Thanks for your input!
Stove pipe made to go so any creosote drains inside the pipe. That much indicates too slow a burn. Remove interior door, use a curtain on a rod. Swap axle from above to below the springs for greater clearance and allow larger tires. I spent several years in a small camper in the woods. Lots of little tricks you'll pick up. Every trailer is different. Get a stove half that size. Burns better and won't soot up as bad. Enjoy your life regardless of these small issues.
How cold did it get where you stayed? The axel and lift will be a challenge in itself, this thing has a 7” dropped axel and it’s super tight in the wheel well, like 8 inch wide. We’ll figure out something.
@@PtiteLifestyle there are pins that locate the axle to the leaf spring packs. If you remove the U-bolts that hold the axle to the spring then you can remove the entire axle assembly (easier if the tires are off and be sure the trailer is up on jack stands so blocks) then rotate the axle 180* around so the locator pins ar facing up now, then reattach the axle under the springs being sure everything is lined up. This should (depending on the axle thickness) lift the trailer up at least 3 or 4 inches. Use new bolts to put it back together. They are a fairly standardized sizing. You could also increase the shackle length on the springs. But you would need to either buy or custom make the shackles and they dont provide nearly the same lift. A 4" shackle extension will only give a 2" lift at best, and can make the trailer track worse when towing. There has to be a thousand Utube vids on the axle flip. Do a search and the first time you see it you will fully understand how. Even the big trailer makers do it when they sell you a trailer with the "offroad" upgraded package. Its really easy, and quick and cheap too.
@@PtiteLifestyle I stayed in upstate NY. Put a 3/4 inch foam board then thin (1/4 inch?) On top of that. Lots of that Reflex bubble wrap over windows at night. And also on ceiling. With the wind howling it got chilly inside. But with no drafts getting blown inside it was pretty easy to keep toasty warm. Average winters back then stayed around the teens during daytime, single digit negatives at night (in farenheit). The trees made the biggest difference. Block the wind and the warm air stayed in.
Thanks for your advice and clarifications. But my axel is not straight, it has u shape about 7” drop. It’s a lowered axel. If you’re curious, I show it in my first ep “the walk around”, near the end of the video. I could buy a straight axel and install it under the leaf pack, that doesn’t fix the narrow tub size, though. I should tackle this pickle before the end of summer, stay tuned for more shenanigans! :)
@@PtiteLifestyle you can go to nearly any 'farm store' and get a straight axle for it. Likley comes with the hardware too. Measure from wheel hub to wheel hub, and from center of spring to center of spring. They are (pre covid) real cheap, and likley your hub bearings have seen a lot of neglect over the years anyway.
A military trailer axle would jack up ur trailer and military jeep trailer wheels and tires should do the trick- thats what my godbrothers and i did to our camping trailer
yr pipe is to long and yes turn joints around get a scrap metal place it against rv for drips ,i put a 5 gal bucket to catch drips .a damper on yr pipe controls heart better .
I’ve put the pipe longer to avoid amber or ash falling on the roof. But I agree, it’s too long, there’s no sign of stuff dropping on the roof either. Thanks for your input.

@@PtiteLifestyle I installed a wood stove outside my house and ran forced air inside through duct work to heat the house. What I did with the chimney is I used 8" pipe for the chimney and put two 8" together on the outside of the first pipe. What it does is super heat the smoke in the chimney to complete burn allowing NO CREOSOTE to form. On your stack (is it 4" pipe?) heading up I would put a 6" over it for 4'. Cut 4" holes in some sheet metal and cap the 6" on top and bottom. It works!
I’m sure you’re right, but that’s the only thing that grows in this area and I don’t feel like driving with a weeks worth of wood in the jeep, takes too much space. I do 50/50, one hard wood log and a bunch of junk, slow burns for 2 1/2 hours.
@@PtiteLifestyle my suggestion pine burns hot and fast. so get the fire going then shut the air totally off to where there is no flame only ambers. problem with pine is it will not last all night must keep feeding it. Lots of sap. turn air off stick more in. much love

I was burning dead standing trees that had been dead for years. Wet, yes. Green, definitely not. But you are right, dryer wood create less creosote. Thanks for your input!

To big: the pipe or the stove box? In that area, I can only get softwood. If I fill the box full, I can get it to burn for 2.5 hours. I feel it’s the minimum I can deal with for a descent night of sleep. One can always improve though. Thanks for your input!

If that were mine , I'd completely replace that entire frame using much heavier guage steel framing ( and give it a Back Bumper & Spare Tire Mount ) . Remount the Spring HANGERS to the bottom of the frame and then turn the ''U'' Axle UPSIDEDOWN . -- ( P.S. : I currently have 9 trailers , and have lived in trailers most of my adult life --- Retired , Miner for over 50 years , living in trailers moving from Mining Camp to Mining Camp . ) . Currently living in a 1979 38 foot Kountry Aire 5th Wheel .

If you run all the joints with the crimp facing down, any creosote will stay in the pipe and somewhat get burned up. I would think that part of the problem is the flue gases cool on the way up that long pipe allowing creosote to condense out. You could probably go with a little shorter vertically pipe. You could also insulate the outside pipe. I did it on my sauna stove by separating some rocksol/rock wool into a thin layer and then wrapping the next size up of snap together heating duct around it. This keeps the flue gas hotter and it will draw better.

The pipe gets too cold when running on ambers and I need te reverse the crimps.

@@PtiteLifestyle the way you have the pipe set up for is for a natural gas fireplace. For a wood stove you want the pipe the opposite way
That subconsciously make so much sense, I worked as an apprentice gas fitter when I was in my twenties. I probably just hooked it up the same as a gas fireplace without thinking!

Your pipes are upside down
Turn them upside down and that creosote will go back in your stove and burn off

I really like how you inexpensively fabricated your stove, using a commercially manufactured tool box, stovepipe and sheet metal.
That it kept your travel cabin warm and comfortable in those temperatures shows that you did a good job, and the fuel being freely available is a good thing, too!
I don't think those campers were particularly well insulated, and I would consider fixing foam boards of at least 25mm thickness tothe underside, which wil be a noticeable improvement.
That is the plan. Eventually I will remove the aluminium skins to fix the water damage and insulate it with foam instead of fiberglass wool.

If you put lights showing behind the trailer at night,put a switch for them in the dash and for backing up, light up the whole area.

small space uses a small wood stove and a small diameter flue. Since you can't burn a big fire to heat up the oversize flue, my humble suggestion is to get a small wood stove with a 2.5" diameter flue. Much shorter flue. You can burn high heat periodically to prevent creosote buildup, and not get your cabin overheated. Since it is a diy woodstove, might be a good idea to design one with 2nd wood gas burn capability. Hotter cleaner air up the flue also prevents creosote formation.
I’ve been wondering if a smaller flue pipe would help. I got a 3” somewhere, I should try it.

There should always be a open hunting camp on the logging trails that everyone can use. Now that being sisd the logging rds are always so muddy n then harden like that bad in winter. But a goof place to park bedidr them n use the smaller trees lol 😊

I'm planning on making a small wood stove from a propane tank. Lots of videos on YT, and I've seen some for sale, second hand. Seems like a perfect size for the space.
It’s a good design. It would be a bit heavier than sheet metal thought. If weight is a concern.
You need your chimney pipe with the male sections pointed down towards your fire. You need a damper in you pipe so you can regulate your fire. It would help too to rig an air control for your fire box. The way your draft is set up your going to burn fast and hot! Most important get a battery carbon monoxide alarm for your trailer. You don't want to wake up dead. Good luck. :)

You could just change the hinges over to the other side of the door, so that it opens the way you want.
How about just putting a clear sheet of stick on polymer of sufficient size so that it's easier to wipe off and you'd then be able to peel it off and replace it if you like . Maybe that kind of stuff that just clings on like comes on a glass screen during shipment . Cool camper .
A piece of cardboard or anything really, propped on the side of the trailer would do I guess. But, first, I’ll try and make the pipe better!

To dry the wood with the stove without making a mess, you could try making a metal box next to or on top or the stove.
And to boil/warm up water you can also make a similar box for that as well.
In finland we use those in Saunas to have warm water that you can mix with cold water to use for washing your butt

Lovely video. Grab yourself a sock or a microphone cover to stop wind noise when recording outside. Be careful the door doesn't lock behind you when you go out. Happend to me at night while it was snowing- not good. Those door latches can't be trusted. Van looks like a great hideaway!

5:21 You are right, stove pipes are normally ran in such a way that any condensation (or creosote) can run along the inside of the pipe and when it hits a join it runs into the next...So joints are normally ran the more upper pipe piece sits inside the lower piece...
Any condensation can then run down to the firebox and get reburned...
probably a good idea to get or make a fitting tlud insert so you can burn pellets and really small pieces of low resin woods...

@@PtiteLifestyle If you look on youtube for a video called "Smokeless Burn Barrel" you will get the idea of TLUD. Obviously a burn barrel is the 50 gallon version of the principle...but you can figure something out which fits your toolbox stove...
BTW: I would try and get hold of two 5L gas bottles and come up with a more slim and compact idea, possibly a TLUD integrated into the stove itself...because the tool box stove is (like you said) anything but a little stove...just saying...

I intend to use three 5L propane bottles which give about 90% of the materials I need to do the fabrication.
I have a sketch of you are interested in dutch but I am sure you can make heads and or tails from it... It is not Werner von Brauns V2 rocket but a TLUD stove...
My idea is to have stove without any hatches or openings to the interior of the van but for cleaning and maintenance purposes with a detachable bottom (ashtray/bin) and a dedicated air intake (with control) and obviously a smoke exhaust and maybe even a cooking surface on top with a hinged lid to cover it if not in use.
To get a better understanding of TLUD, you can also look for videos on these chinese stainless steel tlud camping cooking stoves, called LIXADA... same as the smokeless burn barrel but wayyyy smaller. Look for:
"Lixada Wood Gasifier Stove" on TH-cam...
Exterior cleanup access sounds like a good idea. Not sure you wanna go out to refill the stove every time when it’s freezing out, lol!

YOU NEED STAINLESS PIPE AND PIPE CLEANING COMPOUND WHICH YOU JUST PUT IN YOUR FIRE ONCE IN A WHILE TO DISSOLVE THE CREOSOTE (which is dangerous to inhale btw). Stainless does not collect creosote it stays moderately clean esp. with the cleaning gravel they sell at Walmart for wood stoves.

Creosote is from the wood your burning. Has sap in it. If no hard wood around you. Use pallet wood
Do not burn pine or cedar wood. Or green wood. Let you wood age. Season. If you MUST BURN JUNK WOOD. Then clean stove pipe very often.

Since the camper is so small, you need to buy a marine wood stove. It’s a tiny wood stove that hangs on the wall & uses small pieces of wood or pellets. A lot of Tiny Homes use them. Cute camper though.

Hi i have a cand ham camper and a 2004 grand cherokee 4.0 i have been camping 4yr now and my dog keeps predators away his breed was designed to hunt lions my camper has solar and all electric when off grid it has 12v. Led spots on all sides and camera ports for a dashcam its all inside!

I have all the knowledge to build any size system mine is 12v Harber Freight Thunderbolt system and WM deep cycle lead asid 620 amp hrs. Start with that and a 410W inverter peek at 750W. Add as you can afford my next buy was a 2000W puresign wave inverter for my camper peek at 3000W. I only draw 20 amps and all electric but stove top add all your appliances draw at peek and build up from their add another whole system and 3 more batteries i parallel pure copper cables a must and a 2000amp fuise and cutoff switch it tells you what to do in the systems papperwork Do Not use grid power in your camper keep it seperat if not damage to All even the ground look for a steel pole you can groud it that is your best bet DC is dangerous if not done right its not like AC it can kill even 12v.

My electrical will only be for lights so far.

The propane fridge in mine was under the stovetop and grees driped down the drip pan weep whole and cought the piolet on fire no moor propane but my stove top just saying!

Thatll srop alot of it n try to use hardwood no pine cedar n if u purchase those cedar fence oanels theyre liek 3 to 5 bucks one at a time n u can slowly add them to them. I know a man who gets those trailers cheap ans in way better shape. Dsd has a box of thode lights some place. Led lights be better but he always had saved his in the garabge. If your close by i may havean idea for yous if you dont have another trailer or have one repairs yet. I know this is an old video but it sure looks to be close to where i live. The trails i take some times 😊

Your wood isn't seasoned long enough, we would call it wet because it is still full of sap, chimney should be getting wet like that
You’re right that green wood creates creosote. But my wood was definitely long dry, I was mostly burning balsam fir which is an extremely sappy wood and on top of it I was snuffing it to amber, otherwise it burns way to hot.

Stove pipe made to go so any creosote drains inside the pipe. That much indicates too slow a burn. Remove interior door, use a curtain on a rod. Swap axle from above to below the springs for greater clearance and allow larger tires. I spent several years in a small camper in the woods. Lots of little tricks you'll pick up. Every trailer is different. Get a stove half that size. Burns better and won't soot up as bad. Enjoy your life regardless of these small issues.
How cold did it get where you stayed?
The axel and lift will be a challenge in itself, this thing has a 7” dropped axel and it’s super tight in the wheel well, like 8 inch wide. We’ll figure out something.
@@PtiteLifestyle there are pins that locate the axle to the leaf spring packs. If you remove the U-bolts that hold the axle to the spring then you can remove the entire axle assembly (easier if the tires are off and be sure the trailer is up on jack stands so blocks) then rotate the axle 180* around so the locator pins ar facing up now, then reattach the axle under the springs being sure everything is lined up. This should (depending on the axle thickness) lift the trailer up at least 3 or 4 inches. Use new bolts to put it back together. They are a fairly standardized sizing. You could also increase the shackle length on the springs. But you would need to either buy or custom make the shackles and they dont provide nearly the same lift. A 4" shackle extension will only give a 2" lift at best, and can make the trailer track worse when towing. There has to be a thousand Utube vids on the axle flip. Do a search and the first time you see it you will fully understand how. Even the big trailer makers do it when they sell you a trailer with the "offroad" upgraded package. Its really easy, and quick and cheap too.
@@PtiteLifestyle I stayed in upstate NY. Put a 3/4 inch foam board then thin (1/4 inch?) On top of that. Lots of that Reflex bubble wrap over windows at night. And also on ceiling. With the wind howling it got chilly inside. But with no drafts getting blown inside it was pretty easy to keep toasty warm. Average winters back then stayed around the teens during daytime, single digit negatives at night (in farenheit). The trees made the biggest difference. Block the wind and the warm air stayed in.

But my axel is not straight, it has u shape about 7” drop. It’s a lowered axel. If you’re curious, I show it in my first ep “the walk around”, near the end of the video.
I could buy a straight axel and install it under the leaf pack, that doesn’t fix the narrow tub size, though.

@@PtiteLifestyle you can go to nearly any 'farm store' and get a straight axle for it. Likley comes with the hardware too. Measure from wheel hub to wheel hub, and from center of spring to center of spring. They are (pre covid) real cheap, and likley your hub bearings have seen a lot of neglect over the years anyway.
A military trailer axle would jack up ur trailer and military jeep trailer wheels and tires should do the trick- thats what my godbrothers and i did to our camping trailer

yr pipe is to long and yes turn joints around get a scrap metal place it against rv for drips ,i put a 5 gal bucket to catch drips .a damper on yr pipe controls heart better .

@@PtiteLifestyle I installed a wood stove outside my house and ran forced air inside through duct work to heat the house. What I did with the chimney is I used 8" pipe for the chimney and put two 8" together on the outside of the first pipe. What it does is super heat the smoke in the chimney to complete burn allowing NO CREOSOTE to form. On your stack (is it 4" pipe?) heading up I would put a 6" over it for 4'. Cut 4" holes in some sheet metal and cap the 6" on top and bottom. It works!

DIY what I like to do
quit burning bunk wood. or bark. will help. May be all that pine. burns to hot.
I’m sure you’re right, but that’s the only thing that grows in this area and I don’t feel like driving with a weeks worth of wood in the jeep, takes too much space.
I do 50/50, one hard wood log and a bunch of junk, slow burns for 2 1/2 hours.
@@PtiteLifestyle my suggestion pine burns hot and fast. so get the fire going then shut the air totally off to where there is no flame only ambers. problem with pine is it will not last all night must keep feeding it. Lots of sap. turn air off stick more in. much love
I agree, that is my aim, but I still need to do a bit of ajustements on the stove.

Burn dry wood.. wet or sticky wood will make that creosote drip like that.
You’re right, but I burn what I got. In that area it’s balsam fir and it’s the sappiest wood you’ve ever seen, haha! So, it is what it is.

You are not burning dry wood not green it will always do that
I was burning dead standing trees that had been dead for years. Wet, yes. Green, definitely not. But you are right, dryer wood create less creosote.

Simply to big and it has way to many holes plus don't burn green wood season it at least two years or more
To big: the pipe or the stove box?
In that area, I can only get softwood. If I fill the box full, I can get it to burn for 2.5 hours. I feel it’s the minimum I can deal with for a descent night of sleep.
One can always improve though.
