Inflation is far more harmful to individuals than a collapsing stock or property market because it directly affects people's cost of living, which they immediately feel. It is not surprising that the current market sentiment is extremely pessimistic. In today's economy, assistance is critical if we are to survive.

In this moment, when you can use a capable portfolio advisor to passively learn about and experience a fully varied market, it has never been easier to understand how to increase your money. The implications of a rising or declining dollar on assets, in my opinion, are difficult.

@@stellaadams593 If you lack market knowledge, your best bet is to seek advice or support from a consultant or investing coach. Contacting a consultant may sound simple, but it's how I've managed to stay afloat in the market and increase my portfolio to roughly 65% since January. It is, in my opinion, the best way to get started in the industry right now.

The silent sufferers of the ongoing problems are the stray cats and dogs. Cats have it easier of course, but their food has gotten so expensive, not to mention basic veterinary care (for example neutering or spaying). Where I used to donate monthly to animal sanctuaries, since the start of 2023, I haven't been able to donate anything because I'm in debt just feeding the cats and dogs in my neighbourhood. To anyone visiting, please please support animal charities and ngo's. Thank you!

Do you know how many people, including little kids, have been killed or disabled by dogs in Turkey in the past couple of years, either directly through attacks, rabies, or by being hit by a truck while trying to escape from a stray dog? Can you understand the suffering experienced by these individuals and their families? Do you know how many bird and other species have gone extinct due to stray cats? The ecosystem relies on balance and a chain reaction. If the balance is disrupted, the ecosystem will collapse. Those who support such actions should remember that they have a role in the deaths of children. Additionally, many of these organizations in Turkey are nothing but scammers.

    • @CuteCatsofIstanbul

@@Gokberk_Altug Do you know how many millions municipalities and the government receive (from for example the EU) for controlling stray animal numbers? Do you know the conditions of these ' animal shelters' and how these operations take place, if they take place ? Do you know what this government has done to stop dog factories, pet shops, this mentality that a puppy is very cute but when it grows up, it's a lot of work? Sure it is HUGE problem, but the solution lies within implementing the law that has been in place since 2004, in 19 years thousands of dogs (and cats) could've been sterilised, and the problem would've been much much less. And I also have to ask you, why aren't you so loud about the earthquake situation in this country? Why aren't you talking about thousands of people who have died in the past in the most horrific way, and millions now who are waiting to die because they have to live in 'çürük' buildings? Of course no kid, no human and no animal should die because of uncontrolled animal populations, but I find it baffling that the same people who complain about dogs do not complain about earthquake deaths, traffic deaths, cancer deaths while millions more die from that. I wish you safety and health.

@@CuteCatsofIstanbul What you are doing is called ad hominem. And this is the classic "so-called" animal lover defense. How do you know that I didn't speak out against political corruption and couldn't care about earthquake victims? I am one of those who stood for approximately 7 hours in a cold city like Eskisehir, donating blood on the first day of the earthquake. Wishing you a nice day!

    • @CuteCatsofIstanbul
      @CuteCatsofIstanbul 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Gokberk_Altug Only the second part of my argument was ad hominem because the numbers effected needs to be called out. Another ad hominem - EYT. If only a quarter of those people also called out for their human right to have earthquake safe homes, hospitals, schools, thousands of lives could've been saved. I acknowledge there is a big problem, and inform that the problem is two part - no control over breed dogs and no priority given to sterilising dogs. The solution is not killing these dogs, it is also not endless feeding of these animals. Great that you donated blood, but please please please, call out for your right to 'depreme dirençli yaşam alanları istiyoruz', Eskisehir is a high risk earthquake zone so please be prepared, educate yourself and loved ones, write to the municipality about schools/hospitals' safety. Stay safe.

You all have a ☝️ point, but kling dogs or cats should NEVER happen, there should be more government involvement in sterilization of these animals as well a incentive should be given to people in adopting theses strays by way of government reduced health veteran care, inoculation. Children always need supervision while outside.
By caring for the animals it doesn't mean people don't CARE for the unfortunate which need help but this can be helped by all community being involved, not parts only.😊

I hope that someday it will stabilize, but the damage from one person's flawed ideas about how to run an economy, is unimaginable. I'm glad I live in a flawed democracy, rather than a fascist state where one person holds both executive and monetary policy power. No economist agreed with how things were handled by this man for YEARS. Turkey needs an independent central bank to avoid this kind of disaster in the future.

I have to say, there are two sides to every story. Even though "greedy landlords kicking people out" is indeed happening and is terrible, many local landlords are also in a tight spot. Government placed a 25% per annum limit to rental increase, whereas the effective inflation is at 103% (or 43% if you follow TÜİK's numbers, which as a statistician, I do not). Whereas in the Netherlands, for instance, rental increase control was implemented as inflation + 1%. Important to note that this government forced people into investing their savings in real estate, by making sure there is absolutely no alternative to keeping your money safe from inflation. Deposit interest rates are laughable, and keeping foreign currency is becoming increasingly difficult, whereas banks are offering mortgages with interest rates way below inflation. So, the government practically forced people to invest in real estate, then made sure this investment cannot generate enough wealth to cover inflation.

Just come back from a lovely holiday to Oludeniz. Frustratingly, they have changed the strip to be more of a high street. The shop keepers are much more pushy for business than before, and it has lost its charm as it once had.
The prices are more expensive than the UK, including the fake T-shirts. I pointed this out that I could get the genuine for the same price in the UK, which they didn't like.
I hope this madness stops soon as I genuinely love Turkey but, the prices and the increased pushyness of the shop and restaurant owners were too much. They also need to stop developing Oludeniz as they are ruining it.

@Fair&Just you're telling me you managed to walk down the main strip from top to bottom, all across the beach front without people trying to pull you into there shops, bars, restaurants or travel excursion desks?
We have been 3 times to oludeniz, this is the 1st time we have found the people to be this aggressively targeting people for business. By the second half of the holiday, we would purposely walk the back streets to get to the beach just not to get hounded.
You're either not been truthful, or you must be invisible. Either that or Oludeniz is now that busy with tourists, that the shop keepers as simply too busy.
We went in mid to late May. It was much quieter than usual as we always go for the same 2 weeks.

You make it sound affordable as you compare everything to the Pound. Yeah, for tourists, maybe! Sorry, I disagree. Many local people are barely getting by and it is a hopeless struggle for those with a family. The rate of inflation has gone off the charts and they blame it on the US dollar, not the Euro or pound, which is ludicrous. The inflation in Turkiye has surpassed the increasing exchange rates of any currency. If exchange rates go down prices DO NOT go down, but when they go up again, to what it was before the decrease, then prices rise again, that is multiple increases on the same product. You may think 200 TL is "not bad' for a portion of lasagna, but I am telling you that is crazy. Most restaurants always used a markup of 300%, but it is now much higher and not in line with Turkish incomes. The problem in Turkiye is that the gov. keeps increasing the minimum wage but immediately jack-up prices by a significantly larger margin. If they want to stabilize the market they need to raise the minimum wage and decrease or freeze prices on goods and services. At the rate they are going, they are only making matters worse. So foreigners need to be more empathic toward the Turkish community and not just view things according to the exchange rates of pounds and euros. I have also heard Irish and English folks who have noted that prices in Turkiye are higher here than in Ireland and England, and it is more expensive to eat out in Turkiye than there. What you also failed to mention is that people need to note what they eat and drink, and check their bills carefully as many restaurants and bars are famous for adding on a few extra drinks, and that is not just for tourists as I have seen and heard of it with people who are regulars to an establishment and once feeling a bit tipsy do not question it as they consider the staff "friends". Add a few extra beers or cocktails and you are talking about sizable differences. Sorry, but that is the current state of affairs in Turkiye!

    Another fab video.
We have had our Turkish holiday
home in Didim since 2006. To be honest prices were stable for many years and value for money outstanding. However in the last 3 the picture has changed and last year and this year especially. I will not criticise as prices are going going up everywhere and my hearts bleeds for ordinary Turks. They will not be at beachfronts having coffee and cake for £4! Or £26 in Çeşme!
My big fear guys is that if tourists from the UK arrive and see prices the same as in Spain( we were in Alicante and Benidorm earlier this year), then they will think twice about coming. Flights times to Turkey are shocking, flights longer, less regular and more expensive. The big plus Turkey had was value for money. So I worry that Europeans will go elsewhere, missing out on this wonderful country and people.
The Lira is only going one way and things will only get worse. I would love to be wrong.

Many citing that alcohol is on a par or even more than the UK in places. It's so sad what has happened to the economy and the Turkish people having less and less to live on. We hope Erdogan changes tack to curb inflation and bring the economy under control, and make Turkiye an attractive tourist destination again, and de-tax alcohol, as tourists like to drink and relax on holiday...Finally...a man is given 20 years to fix a country, he clearly has failed, and then he gets re-elected!!...Unbelievable! Thank you for the great videos. You guys are so sweet and you sound like great people. I am Turkish and live somewhere not near Fethiye unfortunately😊
I love Fethiye so much and visit every year. Obviously I don’t have a property down there and I always stay at my sister’s rental village house at Yaniklar, which she barely affords each year
For most of the Turkish people it’s almost impossible to own a house in Fethiye.
Anyway I love your videos and enjoy watching them time to time and they give me so much fun and it feels like I go those places thru your lovely vldeos❤
Though it’s so sad we have little or limited opportunities to have a decent life anywhere near sea in our own country. I don’t think it will be possible from now on either considering this horrible inflation rates.
Again, I really adore your videos and can’t wait to see another upcoming one!

I like to tell you why? as an economist graduated from UCSD San Diego ,what happened during the pandemic was the 90% of the western world closed for business including faming and essential production of Goods, Turkiye never closed their factories or farms, work went on
and western demands for Farm Goods and essentials increased ,as the Foreign currency exchange was favoring west as west could just print or pay electronically Dollar or Euro , just keep spending ,importing buying everything they could from Turkiye. that increase of demand from west ,not only gobbled up Turkish products, but increased the local prices as farmers choose foreign buyers over Domestic buyers, Turkiye had to increase the inflation to make the products more expensive for the west,
now after saying all that, how do you deal with low purchasing power of Turks due to inflation ? Erdogan increased base pay across the board 65%, included retirees pay and minimum wage, economic indicators says inflation is 75 to 80% now take away 65% pay raise that puts it 15 to 20% inflation in par with most of the countries ,
I do not know if this makes sense but the number is what it is.
there were no bread lines even some tried by opposition to make Erdogan look bad, Most of the major cities opened their own Bakery stands to sell the bread cheap as you yourself know, going to Pazar in Turkiye you can pretty much buy lots of food for very reasonable prices,
and I like to also point out to you that, 72% OF THE TURKS, THEY OWN The house they live in. there were no mortgages in the country 15 years ago. that gives them extra cash to spend .
Despite the western attack on Turkish economy and money by the western countries to unseat Erdogan through weak economy, Turks managed thanks to Turkish citizens dollar deposits in Turkish bank over $275 billion, you know people buys dollar with lira and you can o0pen a dollar account in Turkish banks
and some Gulf rich friends like Saudis, Kuwait, Oman, UAE and particularly Azerbaijan deposits lat 5 years is around 165 billion in Turkish banks, not counting under the mattress gold,,dollars and Euros Turkish workers brings from abroad, SO, government simply barrows against it instead of going to IMF ,or World Bank which l have read many times that ,IMF and World bank and FED Reserve USA are NOT very happy about according the rules in Errors and Omission =Balance sheet . but they could not do anything, but to starve Turkiye from newly injected cash all they could do and they did. but money fo0r Turkiye is plenty out there, China 2 years ago bought the tallest high-rise in Istanbul Levent for $635 million (Istanbul Park building ) and opened the major bank with $6 billion in deposits for the Turks to enjoy. remember Turkiye might sound like energy poor country but Azerbaijan is Turkiye . so is northern Iraq, free oil does flow if it needed to

@@007supertime hi. I read your comment very carefully. First of all I respect all explanations about pandemic period that we worked without fear. Because we had to. I lost my mom and my dad have converted to freaking, reckless and useless during the pandemic but you know the life still is going on.
Turkiye didn't increase the inflation to make the products more expensive for the west. They just couldn't stop this madness. Bulgarians came to buy some stuff to the west region of Turkiye, Georgians come to east, Arabians and other nationalities bought estate, Germans bought summer house in the coastal areas. German' investments was very high that inspire the same idea to vote him again. All of this created a lack of supply once the demand is high.
economic indicators says inflation is 75 to 80%? so we see the actual rates in the markets.🤦‍♂
Erdogan tried & declared exchange their dollars many times to Turkish citizens. But it was only another part of show. Long story.... Your last paragraph also sounds dreamy. I can't buy a simple flat, I can't buy a car, I can't buy phone. I can't go to vacation. So who cares their investments. They are coming to take my last underpants

@@hasanozeroglu3081 what makes you think in other parts of the world we are having it easy?!
After 25 years in London im struggling to make ends meet.
I consider my self lucky that im renting and not on mortgage at this time as i would have lost my property with the current intres rate.
Prices have doubled on every single item but they still lie to us by telling that inflation is just 9%.

Prices are ok I guess for touristic place, I am saying this as Turkish man who lives in Istanbul. Come to Istanbul and see everything overpriced. Such a shame for us. We are gonna be Argentina if things go on this way.
