It’s nice to see the young generation take an interest in your profession because after all it is a profession helping you in her time off school and learning at the same time what is farming is all about it’s very nice to see and I’m sure as her father you get a lot of satisfaction seeing your siblings helping you out no matter how little or match it’s very satisfying at the same time spending time with your love ones

So sorry about the mastitis outbreak, that's a scary thing, but I'm sure you're on top of it! The other things are only there to distract you... you wouldn't want to get bored now, would you? 😉
And I just love to see your girl, Nicole, out there helping you with the cows. We always need more women in farming, especially those who can (and want to) have the education that comes from being an apprentice farmer. I'm glad you're teaching her so well!

I had a split in an obsolete, spring fed, 1/2" stop valve last week. Got a bicycle inner tube and cut it into a long ribbon, used it to bandage it up using the tension in the rubber to seal the leak. Still holding up this week. 👌🙏

You should sink the new pipe with a subsoiler. It sinks it up to 3 feet and it’s a lot cheaper and quicker to do than digging a trench for it

Watching you disassemble that engine reminded Me of someone I once knew.
Many Years Ago I knew a gentleman who owned a bicycle and every Saturday he would take it completely apart and clean everything before reassembling it, ready for use the next week.
Then he bought a car and on Saturday true to habit he disassembled the car, in order to clean everything.
Needless to say, when his wife got home from work she was livid.
All of the next day he reassembled the car to the very best of his ability but when he was finished he had a pile of spare parts and an engine which wouldn’t start.
On Monday morning, his wife got the local mechanic in to take a look and see what needed to be done.
It took the mechanic 4 & a half days to reassemble the car and although he had been a mechanic for 30 years he frankly admitted that he was unaware that some of those items actually came apart until he tackled this rebuild.
Needless to say the husband was banned from ever cleaning the car engine and parts again.
And for a Month he was quite good about things, only spraying a little Lubricant and Degreaser on the engine to keep it clean looking, then he slipped and Rattle Can Painted Everything which could be seen when the Bonnet was lifted.
Engine Block, Hoses, Wires, Filters, Battery, Air Intake, Radiator, Mudguards, Fan and Fan Belt, Everything.
And his Colour of choice was Silver.
It was a fortnight later that I found out, but didn’t have the heart to tell his wife.
She didn’t discover what he’d done until the car got its first Service and her mechanic rang her with the news.

No point in scour sampling a calf that has been treated as the antibiotics will scue the results.
A scour in a weaned calf this time of year is most likely coccidiosis or worms. Test the next one that starts to scour before treating. Use vecoxxan or baycox to prevent, and treat with 4 days minimum norodine or equivalent antibiotic. And just like with any scour... fluids fluids fluids
