  • If you want to record to an SD card, the following operations need to be performed. Operations are confirmed on the following SD cards: Class 4 or higher compatible SD or SDHC card Panasonic, TOSHIBA, SanDisk, ATP SD card (256 MB to 2 GB) or SDHC card (4 GB to 32 GB).
    If other media are used, they may fail to record data correctly, or they may lose data that had already been recorded. Multi Media Cards are not supported. Cards used to record video on this camcorder cannot be played back on other devices.
    Some card readers (including internal card readers in PCs) may not be able to support SDHC format. If you use an SDHC card for recording and encounter any reading error, the card reader you are using might be a non-SDHC supported device. Please use the camcorder or other SDHC compatible devices to access the card.
    Insert and remove the SD card only while the power is turned off. Otherwise, data on the card may be corrupted. Do not touch the terminal on the reverse side of the label.
    The card I used in this demo is here amzn.to/3IN6jnm
    Above is an Amazon Affiliate link to help you find the SD card in case you don't have one. If you make a purchase from the link I will receive a small commission for a qualifying sale. Which helps me keep making content like this.

    Thanks for the video! One question: Are you able to see the videos you recorded on the SD card right in the camera menu or do you have to plug it into a computer?

    • @artemorbid
      @artemorbid  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, yes you can. So in the menu settings, you can choose either HD drive or SD, set it SD and go back to the videos menu and you'll be able to view your videos on the lcd screen

    artemorbid thanks for the video, I found my JVC MG130U that was stored in a box for over 10 years! I was able to get a new battery and turn it on and it has dozens of videos from over 14 years ago and I have been looking for a copy of the software that came with it so I am able to download the videso to my computer or at least find a way to copy them to a SD card but haven't got any luck with either, do you happen to have a copy of the software or have you moved/copied the videos from the HDD to SD Card?

      i think all you need is a computer. put the sd card in the camera and then plug it into your computer via the mini USB port on the front of the camera (its on the front on mine). then on the camera screen it should say like "playback on PC" or something. select that. then two drives should appear on your computer, one will be called the name of your camera or something similar and the other will be "USB drive" or "sd card". it might say USB drive even though technically its an sd card, the computer just reads it this way because its connected via the USB port on your computer. go into the drive with the camera name, find the file with your videos on it (mine is called "sd_video"), and then select them all and drag them into the sd card. the sd card on my computer is called USB drive, and it also has a file called sd_video. so if yours is like mine, just move the videos from the camera's "sd_video" folder to the sd cards "sd_video" folder. It will probably copy them and not move them, so once you've ensured that it copied, you can delete them from the camera name drive. be sure to click eject on both the camera name drive AND the sd card drive because otherwise it could corrupt stuff. then remove the sd card from the camera and you've got all your videos ready to go in that card.

    Hello, how much recording time does the camcorder give you with the SD card? I tried formatting a 64gb and a 32gb SD card in the camera and neither use the full amount.

    • @artemorbid
      @artemorbid  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I think the camera uses a bit of the data for misc cache files, like date, time, etc.. I could never get the full amount either. Also, certain sd cards may work better with it, I never tried them out.

    Hey I was wondering if there was some way to plug in an external mic into this camera

    • @artemorbid
      @artemorbid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately there is not, the only solution I have tested is to run and external recorder and then later in editing match the sound and use the one fr the external recorder as my main audio. Something else to think about is that these cameras have terrible audio capture, even if you could add a mic, the processors are not that great. A dedicated audio recorder is far better and gives you good quality audio.

      Hi, ok I'll try to help you. The first thing to check is the camera set to record on the sd card? In the menu make sure that is not set to the camera internal memory, and set it to SD card, if that does not work, you might need to get another sd card, sometimes these cameras only work with specific cards, check the manual to see which cards the card uses. Hope this helps, let me know how it goes.
