lichtlaerm makes really neat pedals. i have no idea what clipping and iodization does. but these pedals have really nice tones its hard to mess it up. thanks for review!

tbh you don't have to fully understand each aspect of a pedal. Just turn the knobs and enjoy 😅

I love Lichtlaerm and think they are one of the best companies out there today. I play a 5150 head and instead of using an od I use the aesahaettr simply to make my chugs hit harder with the drums and bass. The 4 band eq they put on so many of their pedals is a gamechanger for effective live tone (also why I’d choose most of their takes on classic circuits over everyone else’s).
As far as od go, my fav is prolly my ktr. I don’t use overdrives often but it’s usually the one I reach for. Eae Halberd v2 is right behind it.
Keep up the good work Dome! I enjoy your reviews a lot and think you have a good perspective on tone.

I have a guitar with Seymour Duncan Seth-lover pickups. The pickups are low-output, and they do not drive distortion boxes as hard as higher-output pickups. Plus, the SH-55 pickups have little low end when it comes to power chords. I have been using a TS-9 as a tone booster, but can I use The King in Yellow to boost my signal to drive my MT-2 harder, and can I use the bass and mid-controls to add more bass to my pickups. MT-2 acts as my pre-amp. I rely on my power tubes and use the clean channel. Basically, I am trying to play metal with vintage P.A.Fs. Any recommendations?

Modern gear has more than enough gain to get under wound PAF’s to the other side of death metal and back.
It will be different to regular chugga chugga with high output pups though, and there’s not much to do about it.
But instead of focusing on a specific tone, just look at what happens in those pups that is cool to you, and work with it. You’ll find something nice.
Edit: and if you don’t like them at all, swap them x)

Just got this and it’s super noisy. I’m running it into a Friedman IR-X and then into my interface. Anyone else experiencing Lichtlaerm pedals being noisy? My Ghenna is also super noisy. Maybe it’s something in my setup🤷🏻🤷🏻

I just watched Dan's video he did with Jon about Dan's new amp he has coming out and now I want the King in yellow pedal even though I dont need it lol. I love that it has an EQ on it. It gives yout he power to pick what you want to take out or put in.
