The story in the Jackson's "100 Ways" MV is a sort of ancient Chinese Romeo and Juliet story. In the MV Jackson is an ancient Chinese soldier who has come back to life after being killed to find his lover and resurrect her so they can spend eternity buried together. So the backup dancers are his troops who are there to serve him and to pledge their loyalty to Jackson their leader, etc. That is why it looks like he is controlling and commanding them. The Kata hand movements are the spell they are using to bring everyone back to life.
"100 Ways" is actually sort of connected to the story in "Jackson's MV for "Pretty Please ft. Galantis." You should watch "Pretty Please" next, and at the end of that MV (make sure to watch all the way to the end of the credits) you will get to hear him explain the concept behind the 2 MVs and what the stories are about. Then after that, check out "LMLY (Leave Me Love You)", which Jackson says is a continuation of the theme within "Pretty Please."
As you may know, Jackson Wang is one of the rappers in the Kpop group GOT7. He is Chinese, from Hong Kong. He grew up attending an international school in Hong Kong were the primary language spoken was English. So he is now fluent in English, and he speaks English almost better than his native Cantonese. So, when it comes to his solo work, most of his songs are in English or Mandarin. Jackson speaks 4 languages fluently: Cantonese, English, Korean and Mandarin.
As a soloist he is a global artist. He writes and composes and produces his own music and he is a music mogul -- he runs is own label/company with his crew called Team Wang. Because most of Jackson's songs are in English, and he is a fluent English speaker, he does a lot of promotional activities in the U.S. as well, and has collaborated with several famous U.S. artists.
Jackson is gaining a reputation as one of the biggest and most famous singer/songwriter/producer/dancer/artists in China, alongside Lay (Zhang Yixing) from EXO. They are both international powerhouses who dominate in all aspects of the Chinese entertainment industry and internationally.
Jackson has 100% control over all aspects of his solo work because he owns it all himself. It's all part of his company. However, "100 Ways" actually was choreographed and the MV was produced under the direction of the Kinjaz. The Kinjaz have worked with Jackson many times and several of his projects are in collaboration with them. #teamwang Ok guys I know you've watched 'Blow' and 'Bullet to the Heart' but some of Jackson's mvs tell a story and I believe it starts from this one or 'Bullet to the Heart' so I would try to watch them in order. Jackson is a genius though with this series of mvs. I love them and would love to see what he could do with a kdrama if ever given the opportunity..

I know Team Wang is what Jackson group of employees are called. When I hear it now I think Street dancer China...I'm all Team Lay! You want fun watch them on that show. The dancing is absolutely crazy!
