It's in favor to Falcom if you think about it. They have the right engine, the assets, all character models of the Liberl team exist in CS IV and Kuro, especially the ENGLISH script which I hope it's true that they are using XSEED's. It's more practical than a remaster using the evolution version with a more complicated issue in acquiring the rights.
@@tidus1ph Plus it let's the entier trilogy be avaliable on consoles if they remake sky 1 through 3 which has been an issue up until now. Where you can only get the original trilogy on steam. It's accessible, but some people are console only so are missing the first 3 games.

Unfortunately, I forgot about the trails series because there was no translation on the sequel. Many years later, covid came, and I found the series again starting from Zero and Azure.
I seen the original and the ova of trails in the sky and I can’t wait to see Estelle in the remake. The first trails game that got me in is cold steel 3 and it made me love the series and dreamed it a lot.

I know what they can do in-game to make the connection between Estelle and Joshua special. Link-Attacks. They need to have Estelle and Joshua (and only them) be able to do Cold Steel-era Link Attacks even when the Arcus that allows people to do that haven't been invented yet. It would show their bond and teamwork to the player rather than just telling, and it would be an in-universe crutch for the player to rely on in FC before having it ripped from them in SC, thereby neatly demonstrating the void in Estelle's life Joshua has left and her learning to cope with it afterwards. And then having it return gloriously in full force at the endgame.
Honestly I never used the Combo Craft at all unless I wanted to see specific character scenes. To me it was a waste of CP that can be used on more practical crafts instead. Combat Links and the expanding repertoire as their bond grows like Auto-Curia, Deadly Assist, Anger, Cover etc would really showcase the growing bond between Estelle and Joshua in a more certain manner as the story of FC moves forward. I'd even lock those abilities behind story beats like for example, Joshua unlocking Anger/Cover for Estelle after confronting that corrupt mayor of Ruan for example.
@@kagekun1198 Combo crafts allow you to use 100cp for 2 members. Instead of all the CP of one character. It definitely has it's uses. Honestly. I played with a difficulty balance patch. So it's likely they made em more useful.

I don't know if its intentional, coincidental, or if im just insane, but the main theme of this game sounds kinda reminiscent of the Castle in the Sky theme and I really really love that.

I be blunt as a more "recent" trails fan this franchise has a lot of final fantasy/Kingdom hearts influence (for example the magic system how it functions in universe functions like mako from FF7) that being said this series is a fun time I would highly recommend it

Play both. The original is a masterpiece. There would be no remake unless the original was fantastic. Then you'll smile like a doe eyed child while playing the remake because you will have played and appreciated the original. Provided they don't blow it.

Usually when games are announced during State of Play or Nintendo Direct, or even Xbox's events, they're usually followed by an official announcement by the developers regarding platforms. While I am getting pretty sick of the “modern anime - moe/hyper pretty” art style, still can’t deny this does catch my eye. We need more RPGS with steampunk settings.
Ys X is a little bit older. And Falcom has been rapidly improving the visual/animation quality of their games ever since they made their new engine. You can see signs of their progression when you compare Daybreak 1 to Daybreak 2, and Daybreak 2 to Kai no Kiseki. That said, Ys X still looks pretty good to me. >_>

It is a remake. A remake entails more changes than a remaster. A remaster is more or less just a facelift with a few added features. A remake like this one entails rebuilding the game from the ground up.
I'm kinda with you, the use of colour etc is nice but it doesn't seem like a huge improvement over the spritework in the old game. I'm not someone who's in neck deep into Kiseki though so I'm glad the target audience seems so happy lol

This isn't steampunk. It has steampunk elements, but it has just as many cyberpunk elements, at least in other titles.
