The requirements were also high because they were with Path Tracing: On. Dunno why they don't show without, but I guess GPU devs have an interest in making the 30-series seem obsolete
Sure, 8GB is not enough to run the latest releases with absurd texture and resolution (because devs just have to keep making their games more and more VRAM demanding for no significant gains in anything), but lets keep in mind that there are currently no games that this card can't run above 60FPS given reasonable texture and overall graphical settings at 1080p, even though if you bring texture quality down a bit, most games will run fine at good graphical settings. It's an amazing card still.
Yup, just as I thought, it was all about the Vram with the recommended settings. Cos otherwise a 3080Ti is WAY above a 7700XT. It's like comparing a 3070Ti to a 4070 Super. They did not even need to recommend the 3080Ti for it, as a normal 3080 10GB would do the job just fine with High texture settings. Where 10GB is more than enough. It's so sad how Nvidia FKD every 3060Ti/3070 user with the 8GB frame buffer. You have a GPU that's much better than a Series X/PS5, but you can't play at the same Texture quality in new releases. So just like I always like to mention, if not for the 8GB Vram limit, a 3070 would easily last you till the next generation of consoles. Looking how well it runs otherwise on this card. Tho at least the textured do look fine here. Even if you are using the Medium streaming option.
That's Nvidia tactic with vram. With time even good videocard will be lacking in some games due to low vram and users will need to buy new product in order to get max or near max performance. That's why I got 6700xt instead of 3070
@@S2GamesBench Modern games have such a rediculously high res textures on max settings that on average medium looks better then very high in older games, so until it does look good is there a difference... it depends on a game of course, but I still haven't seen a game looking terrible on 8gb cards due to low res textures. On the other hand there is some games that are too heavy for slower cards with more vram. I think there is too much drama about vram...
I hope they make patches so that the texture settings don't literally eat up the VRAM, I remember when TLOU PART 1 came out on PC, it used to eat up the VRAM at first, but it doesn't anymore and I can play at maximum settings without problems with only 8gb.

I was worried that my 3070 would be dipping into the sub 60fps depths, but it's looking like the experience is not going to be all the bad. Sure, it's not 4K, but I'm ok with that. Capping the framerate where the card sits most comfortably, turning off VRR, and using Lossless Scaling's Ai-based software frame generation, could be a very interesting combo for older generation video cards that do not have the ability to do frame generation is definitely something I'm going to check out. Not that I really need additional software, with the optimization already being pretty good, but Lossless Scaling is not just for frame generation. Lossless Scaling also upscales and sharpens up textures where things may look a bit rough due to the 3070's 8GB VRAM limit. We will have to wait and see... I couldn't find much in terms of performance for a 3070 running this game, but with a simple search on TH-cam, I found this video, and is all the evidence that I needed to know that this game will be a great single player experience for this particular 3070 GPU.
