- Heatmor tutorial and preventative maintenance. Please watch my other heatmor video about opening the door. Very important to wait around 10 seconds before you open your door all the way. It shoot a fire ball out of the door if you open to fast. Watch my other Heatmor Video.
We use the scraper thing for the exhaust as a poker😂 i laughed when you showed what it's supposed to be used for. Thanks for the great video!
Had my heatmor for 20 years .. love it …. It’s payed for itself multiple times … I wouldn’t go without one now …
I have one of those for nearly 20 years and if I have only one advice to give about it then always have in hand tubing to replace those of the door. Over time they will crack and leak.
When it is time to replace one you can't wait and it must be done quickly.
Are there any tips or videos on how to replace these tubes? My bottom one is going to goo soon.
Thanks for making this video. It’s the most comprehensive I’ve found on TH-cam. Thanks!
Your info was very helpful, thanks for taking the time to share it!🤙🏽🍻
Did a great job on the video. I shovel mine out and then auger it as well. It really needs to be augured because that tube is where your blower is blowing through to get to your firepot. I've had mine plug up before and the fire would not burn very well. I augured it and then removed the blower. I used a brake line that I had and went through the front side and poked out the ash blockage and then re-augured, Worked great again. If you get where it's not burning well at all, look there first.
What do you use for water treatment?
Sir, thanks so much for this video. We bought a house that has one and this helps so much!!!
Moved to new place recently and has same unit. Can’t find book but thanks to your video I may have for out why it goes out when I close the door. I think chimneys was plugged so I took shop vac to the top but now I will try that new back clean out that you mentioned. By looks of it when I clean top she will be right plugged that’s y no smoke will go up.
Where the blower is in front of the boiler, have you taken it off and cleaned the space or air channel that goes to the inside of the firebox … I was having same problem as you .. realized the air supply channel was full of ash for the blower…
Fantastic video! I have a similar unit but in a brown exterior.
I agree, the auger feature is junk
I usually clean the ashes out from the front
What model is yours? Trying to determine which one we have.
I'm hooking up the same boiler, thanks for the help
Thanks for the video it was helpful!
Appreciate the education.
Hello, good afternoon, can you make another video on how to turn on the entire system inside?
Was thinking the same thing! Hot water heat is nice & warm, if you got a house that has it. We had hot water heat in the old house we lived in as kid. There was also a combustion stove. It was functional too if needed. Schoolhouse had it hot water heat & we'd be sitting in the class room & hear the plink sounds of the pipes & old timey radiators the hot water would circulate through! We'd put our wet mittens, hats, gloves, scarves, & damp socks on the radiators to dry them or em back on & go out later & play in the snow more! Can still remember the sound of those old radiators in every classroom. It was a nice toasty comfortable warmth on a cold blustery snowy day. Good times & memories from an entirely different time than today.
Thanks for the video man. We moved into a house in Southern Michigan that had one of these, and the previous owner came back out for the first time today to show me how to use it. Pretty much covered all the things you did, so you had a helpful video. It's going to be my first time cutting wood and feeding it like this (thankfully we have a gas backup if needed.)
For a complete beginner, I still would appreciate to see how to start this thing on to start the fire! 🙈 thanks for the details, of course, we’ll keep looking for the complete info...
When you start it at fall, turn off the pumps. It will allow the water to reach it's temperature faster and to establish a solid fire.
thank you for the video...
Does the water in the bladder circulate? Is water around the bladder also that circulates?
Would you be able to tell us what model you have? We got ours used. No information or user manual with ours. But ours looks the same as yours. It would really help please.
Search online using Heatmor Owners Manual plus model number. If you don't have the model number, try an online Search query using terms Heatmor Model numbers first. Maybe you'll be able to identify it if you see it in case you didn't get a reply back.
Great video
Just water in the boiler not antifreeze?
All I did was put water in it and a rust preventing chemical in it. I was steered away from antifreeze from my local heatmore dealer
To bad yours didn’t come with coal grates much easier to use auger, also you need coil for your hot water I’ve had mine 16 years now, your light switch is wired backwards push up should be the off position
Have you ever had issues with your ash not coming out with the auger? I've had to do the shoveling to be honest. My boiler is about 20 years old but working well.
You should not need a hammer to close door, never use anything other than just one hand, to push it down, no bfh
