You speak to my heart. Sometimes I look quirky to others, but I dress for myself, and I wish they would to. We need colorful clothes and beauty in life.
You have always very beautiful dresses and skirts. The last 20 years I didn't buy a lot of new things and I wear what they call Indian style. I love roze, purple, red and my favourite mint green. But when you get older, your body is not the same as 20 years ago. And the long skirts I love to wear makes me older. In june I'am 67 years and I start a new collection of clothes. I sew a lot myself, and because I have collect many fabrics over the years, I can "shop"in my own house. I found some videos on You tube how to make a very nice nightgown, and I want to make them too. Your nightgowns are beautiful. You are so lucky your family saved them. And your grandmothers made some amazing lace.
That's nice to start a new collection of clothes for your birthday Shopping in your own house in your collection is the best , yes I'm lucky that a great aunt who never moved and stayed in the house she grew up in, kept all the things she got as treasures nicely packed in her cupboards and almost never used them. It'smy great great grand mother actually so she was born around 1860, who did the bed sheets, collars , nightgowns I showed in this video and a few others.
As someone who wears historical clothing on an (almost) daily basis, I applaud your video and your attitude. I don’t care what people think and choose to wear the clothing and undergarments of (sometimes) the 18th and (mostly) the 19th century, to cook the recipes, engage in daily practices, to make and embellish every item with love and curiosity, to hand wash and care for them as slow fashion, made to last. I have a passion for history and what it can teach us about quality of self and our lives but I am grateful to live in modern times and have the choice to experiment with historical eras. Books on etiquette, manners, behaviour, and housekeeping are fascinating too. Brava for doing what you love and developing a magnificent personal style that makes you uniquely and beautifully magical. The linens, the laces and collars etc, are so beautiful, and I’m so pleased to see them loved and cared for, and not cut up for journalling, or shabby chic creations. ❤
We are just happy folks living the dream and who cares what anyone else thinks. Keep being you in your wonderful existence of uniqueness! Life too short not too.
Cheers, and I totally agree, life is too short to live by anyone else’s standards and rules, but I am blessed to live in a country where I have that option.
Thank you Manja!, oh my godness you are so right "shabby chic creations" and scrap booking are the hell for these past treasures these ladies should be punished for their supposed creative doings massacring all these precious objects and books !!! You are very brave and such an example in teh way you chose to live you life and explore the past, it's very inspiring!! yes these books are so pleasant to read , I'm addicted to them, the 1782 is really special because he has an ancien régime flavour you don't have in the 19th century anymore. We all can't wait for your channel to start :)))
Haha! I always wonder if the lace and paper they use in these junk journals and shabby chic creations where unusable as there initial purpose. It is nice that they are breathing new life into something that was most likely discarded. But I agree, vintage lace is precious and should remain with textiles when possible and absolutely not glued in a way that makes it unusable in the future.
Hi, love your style! My own is much more 60s/70s inspired, and after my life turned upside down a few years ago and I basically had to start from scratch again, coming out of a 10-year relationship with someone who was basically a minimalist, my home is now very bohemian, hippie, colourful, with lots of books and records, my small but growing collection of vintage Penguin books and lots of fleamarket finds. I buy all of my clothes (apart from underwear and socks maybe) second-hand, mostly from charity shops or Vinted. Minimalism is great for those who love it, but I could never live in a grey-beige-white flat again!Greetings from Germany from this maximalist hippie! 💚💙💜💛🧡❤
Thank you Mrs Maximalist hippie for sharing your style !yes sure I can also understand why some people like and prefer simplicity and minimalism, it's just depressing to me too !
I love colorful clothing in older styles. I make and mend clothing by hand, so I take pleasure in seeing you use lace to mend your clothing. At 62 almost 63 I wear what I want, not what society says I ought to wear. My favorite gowns are in the style of the German and Italian Renaissance around 1480 -1520 as the high waists of those gowns suit my plump figure.
You're home and your clothes are so lovely. I live in the U.S. in Florida, and it is very hot and humid here most of the year. I usually wear shorts and very light clothing. I would love to dress more pretty but I think I would pass out from the heat of it. A girl can dream though and that's why I watch your channel. Thank you for all your beauty.
Thank you for stopping by, yes I imagine in Florida , it would be hard to dress the same way than overhere, though maybe a few accessories could dramatize a bit your style! Thank you :)
Ditto in Australia. So it’s shorts and cotton tops or breezy lightweight cotton dresses most of the year. Even in winter, it’s best to wear layers that can be removed if the day warms up or replaced when it turns cooler. I am bohemian at heart but the heat and humidity makes practical cool clothing choices imperative above all.
I have always loved the way you dress. So, that made this a really fun video for me! I admire your feminine, vintage, style. I call it a romantic style. It’s whimsical and beautiful. I always loved Stevie Nicks style. The vintage feminine looks mixed with an edgy flair but I find your style more refreshing! It’s more modest but not boring! Your layers, ruffles, lace and color are so pretty! You dress the way I’d like to but rarely do. This video has inspired me to get more creative with my clothing choices. I’m definitely one of those people who loves to wear pretty things. I do wear a lot of lace and tiers/ruffles but they’re more contemporary. Not actual vintage, which I love! I like to be different yet I’m not one who wants the attention for it. I like to dress for myself. For what I want to see myself in. You have me thinking I should rethink the way I dress and start working on adding what I have always loved and wanted but never really did! 💗💗💗
Thank you Heather!! I'm glad if you are inspired to get more creative ! Yes it's the most important thing to d(ess nicely for yourself first! Happy if you are motivated and encouraged to go a little further, only positive things can come from that in your life! :)
I’m so happy you talked about your clothes! A few years ago I asked if you could show them, they are so much a part of you. I love examining what you wear. I’m in Fresno, California and it’s sad to see the styles, too many skin tight leggings and pants, often very unflattering. I also don’t want to be noticed so I understand that. In winter I dress in jeans and a couple of layers of tops in blue, lavender, teal, and pinks. In summer I always wear dresses or skirts and tops, many are colorful. Most women my age wear pants all the time. Thank you for the inspiration, maybe I will get a little braver after your video. Thank you! ❤
Yes I think it's the sad thing, most of these modern ways of dressing are just showing off all the flaws of young ladies at least the ones I see here too. I know most women wear pants too from every age some skirts and dresses can be so pretty and give more ligthness, but I understand the practical aspect some prefer in pants. Thank you Glad you liked this video ! Yes try it's so much more fun !!
Oh, Laetitia, thank you for sharing your beautiful treasures!! And heirlooms, heavenly! Love your kingdom fashions, your armor. Indeed!! Against this tough, cruel world, and lift your mood!!!! All for us to be quite informed, and aspire to adopt for ourselves. Loved your reading of how our clothes, be light, airy, and "be" part of the home!! Love that!! I also love and collect fashion books too.
What a delightful Video! I love darning my clothes and adding visible embroidery and pretty fabric not only to mend but at the same time decorate my clothing. It makes me so happy when my things have a history and tell a story❤
Thank you ! Interesting! Yes you are right, and on top of that you have unique clothes that nobody have , and can be proud of yourself to have embellished them in a unique way!
❤Hi LAETITIA! I don't have a problem with dressing bold. I like dressing beautiful and fun, and comfortable. I'm a little low on wardrobe right now, but will get creative with what I've got. I need aprons. KATIE ❣️ KENTUCKY!
Fantasy/Fairy goth is how this fashion would be described in the alt culture. Whatever the term or name you'll use, you have a delightful taste in fashion.
Thank you! I'm sure though there are other people in your area who dress ina nice way following past inspirations, they are just harder to find than all the other ones !
It's very interesting when you stated that most people don't want to stand out. I concur. For myself, I have a disability, and forever and a day, I have been told to try and blend in as best I can. Because no matter how hard I try to minimise, I will always stand out. So, I've quite literally spent a lifetime, trying to minimise myself, and it' is stupid because I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. Do you have an words of encouragement for those of us who so badly want to take ownership of dressing in such a way that reveals our own personal nature and creativity? BTW, I am inspired and grateful that you do you, just the way you see fit. I love your enthusiasm and that you live life courageously.
Your comment really moved me. I thin a lot of people feel the same way, although of course your situation is more extreme. I think it is about not caring what others think and be brave to express yourself - your true you, but it takes practice. Start with some little thing and work your way up!
Thats must be hard to hear you need to blend because of your disability, there is a neighbour in my street who has a problem for walking and the way she walks makes that you notice her. What i find wonderful is that she has a very refined and nice way of dressing with very bright colors , she obvioulsy knows she can't blend so she is fully herself with her bright green skirts and black and white stripes, that's really brave and inspiring! I think you could just try maybe with bold accessories first (bags, scarfs hats , gloves socks).... , that you like but wouldn't have dared wearing first because of their colors or shapes and then with your clothes little by little and see how you are feeling when you wear them without worrying about what people will think. It's a journey of beeing a little more "you" everyday . I for sure received criticisms in the past for my clothes from strangers and family members but after so many years I really don't care anymore !
Dressing light and airy when in the home is a point I have never heard; thinking of your clothing as an accent to your decor. I did not realize that ironing helps with the longevity of clothing. Thank you for a delightful and informative video. I have many of the same curiosities and proclivities. What a lovely collection of clothing and books! Thank you for featuring these French manuscripts in English. It would be lovely if you shared more from these books. I wish you all the inspiration in creating your fantastic creatures!
Thank you ! Oh yes ironing helps a lot for quite many fabric after they have beenwashed it puts the threads of the fabric back in place at least for non synthetic fabric of course ! These books will inspire other videos in the future that's for sure ! Thank you very much and thank you for stopping by ! :)
Awww So long ago I mentioned how I love your dress sense and your still so pretty. I love how you layer your clothes so elegantly 😍. I have a few pieces and I think everything was pure cotton which cleans so much more easily than all the polyester of today. I love old laces and buttons Im always collecting . People are very judgemental if you dont wear what everybody wears. Its very unique to be different...Different is most definitely more beautiful ❤
You have inspired me to fight to be myself. All my life I have ben told to fit in .My mother repeated all day long why can’t you be like other girls, dress normal ,and you are not my daughter you must be switch at birth. Now I think maybe that is true and I’m actually a changeling. It’s time to not listen to anyone anymore who will put me down.
I adore watching your videos. I started making my own clothes as well as upcycling using only vintage fabrics and second hand clothes that are challenging for me to find here in Germany. You are so inspiring and love this tea time with you 🎀
Thank you! It's interesting that you struggle to find second hand clothes in Germany but it's really nice that you can make your own clothes ! Glad you appreciate it :)
Another magical video ! I too love clothes from yesteryear, all mine are second hand finds, treasures. I dress according to my mood that day, preferring comfort and layers above trends which I never follow anyway. Hugs to you and Clochette from the US😊
Thank you Dawn! There are always treasures to save in second hand shops, Thank you for your hug , Hope spring is starting beautifully in your corner of the US :)
Dear Laetitia. You make dressing to an artform. So genuine and consistent with your love of beautiful things from the past. The heirloom lace is one of a kind and so pretty on you. I like mixing patterns and like unusual shapes and clothes which not everyone is wearing. It's fun to express yourself with what you wear and it is nice to get compliments when we were something special. This was again a very enjoyable video. Thank you. ❤
Thank you Sabine !What you say is very true I didn't mention that in this video but when you dress differently that everyone in your town or around you, and try to make an effort,it's interesting to see the reactions and compliments you get ,sometimes from people you wouldn't have imagined they would appreciate such a style! Glad you liked this one too !
I love your style, I have always loved dressing up and dont really have one style I like best, I like old fashions and beautiful old things as you do, sometimes I like to dress 1940s or edwardian but then I really like the 70s fashion too, I'm all over the place, I like natural fabrics, deep rich colors, simple and elegant or layered and grungy, it's all great stuff. I really enjoy juxtaposing so something modern with something old, something shiny and blingy with something casual, wool and statin. This is the first video of yours I've seen, loved it! 😊
Your clothes and style are inspiring! I also like wearing lace and ruffles and layers of batiste (especially in Summer). I also like aprons- because I live on a hobby farm and thin fabrics can snag on chicken wire. Sometimes I like pants for that reason as well. 😊 But I'd like to make them more girly if possible. Thanks for the inspiration! And your headband is so lovely as well!
My style preference is similar to yours, but my studio practice is way messier, and my body a good bit older and larger than yours. I've hit a compromise of thrifting pretty T-shirts, often with rose prints or romantic graphics, piecing them into tunics, and wearing them over jeans. I usually embellish the cuffs of my jeans with deep lace. And then I go ahead and let the acrylic paint land where it may. Even in just daily life, I've mostly given up my longer, full skirts, as I'm too likely to trip going upstairs, or get frustrated when the volume of fabric is in the way of some practical chore I need to do. My solution is to skip the long skirts and just wear linen bloomers, which I originally sewed to go under them, with a shorter dress or tunic over. Kind of vintage-boho-historybounding style. And some days, I don't feel like explaining my wardrobe choices to strangers in the grocery store, and I just wear wide-legged trouser style jeans and a comfy knit top.
Thank you for sharing your own approach to dressing , it's very intersting , I can imagine than clothes style evolve through life and as years go by you sometimes have to adapt things, it's funny when you say sometimes "I don't feel like explaining my wardrobe choices to strangers", this made me smile :)
This is my absolute favorite! I wear creative type clothes, I have very few. I shop vintage, used, ETSY, or if I find something in the stores, which is rare, I can modify it. I also am getting back into sewing and I am envisioning an entire wardrobe of summer white dresses, with details like rosettes, lace and find buttons. I live near the beach, so my clothes must be light. I can always layer in the winter time. I stick with mostly cotton, linen, some silk, lace, etc. I learned to make due with what we had. modify as needed, and re use when I could. I do have a few set of yoga pants and tops, but I only wear them for yoga and walking outside. I change as soon as I am done. I like simple elegance.
Thank you for sharing! An entire wardrobe of summer dresses is very inspiring ! I do my yoga at home with the same clothes even with my tutu skirts because they don't prevent any movement , but if I was going back in a class I would do like you and change and when I'm back home as I used to do.
I love vintage clothes and beautiful fabrics...so I mix silks, lace, velvet tops with my bright coloured tiered skirts. I love the Edwardian period, but also any period before the 1920s.
My clothes must be ok for cycling, but other than that I very much like bright colours and I find that people smile at me when I wear a multi-coloured jacket on a grey and miserable day. Your style is so lovely! I‘m quite envious of women like you who found their style so early in life. It took me decades to find mine, but better late than never.
Thank you ! it's nice your jacket make people smile ! My style has evolved a lot througout teh years actually but I never wore "normal clothes" following the trends even as a teenager, Of course you are right it's never too late !!never !
I love to see your creative way of dressing, it definitely brightens the day. My friend in New York says people wear so much black and gray there because the city air is so dirty, and pretty colors show the dirt.
Wow I had no idea it could be a reason for that! Michel Pastoureau the historian of colors says it's also because people already own these colors in their closet and when they buy something new they want to be able to wear it with clothes they already own , which are grey black, or beige , so there is also an economical reason. But I don't like this excuse !
I love the way you're dressing, and your art, and interiors! Your whole style basically 😊. I try to wear nice things at home but as a house and garden owner I find it hard, I've ruined quite a few nice things with dirt, oil, soot and rips so usually I end up in practical lounge wear. Also I'm very often sewing and that leads to the sewing classic of hanging around in underwear and a dressing gown, as you have to constantly change to try your project on. ( I cannot understand people who DON'T try on things until they're done? I'm way to picky about fit and proportions for that)
Thank you !!It's not easy as someone as active both inside and outside to wear delicate clothes , I know we can ruin things from time to time, I did too especially the sleeves of my tops and shirts. Oh yes I can understand you need to try your clothes in progress on , you are sure to save time at the end and be sure it will fit you !
Excellent !
I love to wear just like you, layers upon layers of organdie, silk, lace, satin and tulle - images of flowers, birds and all things beautiful. Much love from Belgium, Anja
Thank you Anja! You have a beautiful style, each time I saw you I was carefully studying the way you were dressed and the elaborate patterns of your clothes !Have a good Week in your corner of Belgium !
💖Hello! I LOVE the Lace on Your Shirts and Dresses! This seems to be a lost art! It is Wonderful that You have Antique Collars made by Your Grandmother! I don't like black, grey, or beige personally. When I was younger, and much, much slimmer, my wardrobe was mainly vintage clothing and very eclectic! I had some 1900s linen undergarments that I wore as tops, lots of colorful dresses from the 1930s and 40's in Silk and Satin; it was much more fun to dress every day! After giving birth and getting older, I don't fit into those tiny sizes anymore. I still Love very flowing colorful skirts. Some made in India with Paisley designs are my favorites. It's hard to find tops I like; I Love Peasant Blouses, and wear vintage Tee Shirts too! I should learn to sew, because it is so hard to find things that are fun in stores nowadays! 🌺🌷🌹Your Colorful Stockings are Adorable! I used to have a big collection of unique stockings too, but since my shape has changed, I'm more shy about showing a lot of my legs. I Do LOVE Your TuTu inspired Skirts with the Ruffles! 🌺🌷🌷Those are some of my all time favorites! Hair Scarves are still my favorites too since I have very thick, long curly hair; I Love to tie it up with a colorful scarf! 🌸Thank You So Much for Sharing Your Delightful Wardrobe with Us! 🌹You've inspired me to take a look at my closet and dress better! It does uplift the Soul! 🦋💖
Thank you! yes those who know how to sew have really a big advantage , it's such a freedom to be able to dress very exactly the way you want with clothes that feet you prefectly! Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm glad you are inspired, it absolutely uplift the soul and it can have a positive ripple effect on many persons around you in a a way you can't predict and it's always nice to receive compliments and when you make an effort you always receive more of them than if dressed like everyone else, and that too is uplifting ! :)
Lovely! I just found you on TH-cam and am thrilled that I did. I love, embellishments (lace, ribbons, applique, etc) and "re-fashioning" my clothes for their own uniqueness. Have you heard of "Make, Sew and Mend" Traditional Techniques to Sustainably Maintain and Refashion Your Clothes" by Bernadette Banner??? I highly recommend her book. Have a wonderful week. LJ in New Mexico, USA P.S. I love COLOR simply put - it's all about your own style and happiness in what you wear!
You are most welcome ! Wearing unique clothes is just different , it's like making your own Haute couture collection only for yourself, no I don't know this book , thank you for the suggestion! Yes it's very true !!
That lace dress you are wearing is so lovely! For myself, I like to wear dresses and skirts because I find them to be much more comfortable than pants, I usually pair them with leggings and tie up boots. I'm on my feet all day at work, so I can't wear anything with too high of a heel. I love fabrics like linen, velvet, cotton and wool. I also have a penchant for crochet and embroidered items. In modern fashion terms, I would say my style is most akin to whimsigoth but I do mix it up now and then with other more classic looks.
Thank you for sharing your wardrobe style! Very interesting :) ! didn't know this term "whimsigoth"! yes dresses and skirts are so much more comfortable !
I am amazed by your beautiful style, I wish we could find these beautiful items of clothing here in the US, France is so special for this! I do love to wear beautiful dresses, pants are not really my thing. I wish I had the courage to wear clothing like you! Thank you so much, I would enjoy more videos on this topic ❤
Thank you ! oh really it's interesting you can't find nice things even in second hand shops, I have quite many friends who find treasures in some vides grenier , this courage is easy to find you can start to dress a bit more boldly just at home or in your farden and then next time you try to go to a close shop wearing those same clothes and little by little you realize it's fun and easy to dress the way you like! :)
I adore your fashion taste, Laetitia! Whimsical yet elegant and put together. For myself, I try to choose natural fibers and attempt to thrift a good deal of my clothes. I wear a lot of dresses and flowy tops in floral colors/patterns with black tights or legging and flats - comfortable yet still presentable (hopefully ha!).
Thank you Shawna! yes natural fibers are so much better it's teh reason I almost don't buy new things anymore, these polyesters and viscoses are not my cup of tea, I'm sure you are very presentable with these combinations ; )
Thank you ! They won't be super easy to find, but you might find similar ones in English maybe more easily at leats for the 19th centur ones, though thr memoirs of Elizabeth Vigée Le Brun are available on amazon translated.
Fabulous video love your fairy clothes and your taste in vintage style. The white work and crochet collars your Grandmother made are very beautiful. I just wear black pants and different colours of sweaters that I crochet myself. It is interesting to have a book on etiquette and dressing up does make one feel better.
Thank you ! yes it was my great great grand mother who did them actually, , yes these books of etiquettes are just really inspiring and refreshing even more these days and there are always good things to take from them !
I have a book excerpted from The Girl's Own Newspaper 1880-1890 and its Needle Crafts from a Victorian Workbasket there are lots of interesting things to make, your great great grandmother would have had lots of beautiful things to make. I have to say the patterns don't come with a lot of information so one has to really work your way through as best you can. Looking forward to your next video.@@Merveillesenpapier
Such fun❣️ It’s so delightful to see you enjoy wearing your wonderful fairy tale and reimagined wardrobe. Your detailed paper costume garments are also a pleasure to see. 🙂 I love colors, textures and certain patterns, sometimes in the foreground and others in the background. Usually, I combine neutral tones with accent pieces of jewelry and long sleeved blouses over sleeveless tops. I love long, flowing gauze skirts and soft cotton blouses with embroidery and touches of lace. Also, cute and comfortable socks and stockings or leggings with prints. Different seasons will determine either light or heavier jackets, blouses, sweaters, hats and all types of long scarves.😍👍❤
Thank you Rozani ! Thank you for describing and sharing your style it's interesting for me to picture you and those who often stop by , to imagine how they dress like in their everyday life ! socks is also an important detail, it's true! :)
You’re most welcome❣️ I love comfort and mixing and matching. I do also enjoy dressing in playful period-like garments for Medieval Faires and festivals. It’s about fun and comfort for me at any age. Especially now in my late 60s. Wishing you a great Spring season in all of your creative endeavors. 😍
Dearest Laetitia...your recent videos are so welcome and enjoyable! I've been somewhat distracted by daily life and have not responded by mail or email, although I've often composed notes in my mind. I'm beginning to understand that comments in this space are helpful for your 'algorithm '. At present, I'm designing and sewing some pieces to upgrade my wardrobe. As I spend so much time on my knees in the garden, my usual attire consists of denim and khaki. Fondest wishes for peace and love in your sweet kingdom!!
I always try to leave a little comment for that algorithm for content creators, but it can be hard sometimes if things are difficult for me...these videos help me with my depression and panic attacks, but I don't always leave a comment.
Thank you Jane! Life happens don't worry about that, I'm late too in many of my mails and emails.... ! comments certainly do help ;) Oh that's so nice sewing from scratch and creating entirely clothes matching your taste, and style is the best and also to have a much higher quality of fabric too , gardeners need convenient clothes ! Thank you for stopping by overhere and taking the time to write this comment :)
Hi Leticia, maybe you could look online about kantha quilts. It shows many layers of thinner fabrics put together to make quilts and clothes. This could possibly give you some ideas for repairing your clothes creatively. I love that you repair and not just buy new. It's the best recycling as well as using your awesome creativity. 🥰🥰
Thank you Barbara! I will have a look ! I repair becauise there is not a lot of temptations these days to buy much ,at least not as much as a few years ago , but you are right it pushes us to be more creative and repair, improve or even make our own clothes !
This is very interesting.. you have beautiful clothes.. I used to dress more flamboyant in my twenties.. I'm now 53 and I paused when you mentioned the book spoke of people choosing to dress " invisible".. it really made me think.. I wonder if I'm dressing in more somber colors for this reason.. I know I go through stages of wanting a more playful, carefree look but then I swing back to plain, unadorned clothing. There is an American trend called, the " old money" aesthetic. The look is non colorful, tailored , classic pieces, sophisticated but boring. I do try to mend my clothes and stay away from fast fashion.. I thrift a lot of my clothes.. you have lovely collars and nightgowns. Loved all the pleats and lace , flounces and beautiful details.
Thank you Melinda! I'm not familiar with this trend, that would interesting to knwo why colors are leaving your wardrobe, I think it's pretty common for a lot of women for various reasons to dress with more neutral, colors after 50 , it's a bit sad though, colours are so uplifting and they can make us look younger when well chosen for our skin and hair.
Well, I agree many reasons to opt for neutrals, black yo look slimmer etc.. I recently lost my mom in Dec of 2023 so for me I chose to wear dark colors to mirror my inner sadness, however that isn't me.. I do love color, so I have been slowly adding more color to my clothing choices and I feel happier for it. Color is definitely a mood booster.
I used a whitening powder for most of my old bedsheets but it's a bit too harsh for the clothes and for the delicate bedsheets, I started to use more some savon de Marseille in flakes, which I think is like castille soap in english, and it's much smoother and works pretty well, but I'm not an expert in that I'm sure you could find better advices online.
@@Merveillesenpapier I really appreciate your sharing with me and answering my question. I was just curious. They are so lovely and you look lovely in them. Thank you!
I'm so glad that I discovered your channel. This one about your beautiful clothes is my favorite. I tried to find the name of the lovely music on this video, do you know the name of it?
Leggings are not pants! I live in America and too many women wear leggings as pants. Is this also a problem in France? I think of all of the beautiful clothes to be worn and leggings have taken over!
Ive not been to America so it's hard to compare , but generally in France people and women in cities and big towns dress pretty well, and the more you go to very small towns , suburbs, or the countryside, the more "basic" and minimalist people dress.
Your home, your clothes, your art and your cat, purrfect! Your very own fairytale castle.🏰 ♥♥♥♥ 🐱
Thank you :))!
You speak to my heart. Sometimes I look quirky to others, but I dress for myself, and I wish they would to. We need colorful clothes and beauty in life.
Yes you are totally right ! :) Who cares what other things!
I am loving all of your videos!!!❤❤❤
Thank you Mrs Maximalist hippie for sharing your style !yes sure I can also understand why some people like and prefer simplicity and minimalism, it's just depressing to me too !
for me, it was your interiors that made me swoon. so beautiful, elegant with high ceilings, gorgeous wall paper, gold details. yummy
Thank you :)
Thank you for sharing your one of a kind approach to your clothes Catherine , Italian renaissance style is really beautiful!
@@Merveillesenpapier your welcome!
Thank you! Your style is marvelous. Love it! 💜💜💜
I live in Tennessee & the humidity can be terrible here. I wear alot of gauzy dresses during the summer to feel cool & still look pretty.
I can’t stop longer than to say huge thank you, because I have to go change my clothes! Love and gratitude.
Thank you Sharon, your sweet message made me smile :))
Yes try it's so much more fun !!
belles créations ! que de dentelles de broderies, pauvre époque que celle de maintenant ...j'adore ces anciens livres plein de bons conseils
Merci oui ces livres sont de vrais bijoux !
Thank you Roksanna for your message !!Glad you enjoyed these treasures ! :)
I love colourful clothing. Your great grandmother's lace collars are so beautiful!!
Thank you Francine! :)
Oh Okay , thank you :)
Beautiful muziekin this vlog thank you.
Beautiful! Best to blend in - in large cities for protection. Unless one is going somewhere safe. Xo J
Just wonderful!
I adore your flower stockings. They're glorious.
Thank you , there are tights.
Wish you lived in the US in my area. I would love to belong to a group of people dressing in bygone era clothes.
Goodness! Those stockings/socks/tights/leffings...? With the big flowers & the feet. So cute!
It is a tights. Thank you ! :)
@@Merveillesenpapier you are welcome
The rights are very cute!
I've been admiring your style and beautiful clothes ever since I came across your channel! 💛
A source of inspiration! 💛💛
Thank you Isabelle, glad to read that !
You’re soooo right! ❤
Love this video I love old linens and old cotton clothes ,,,,old ace especially,,, warm wishes from LILLE MARIE,
Another magical video !
Must be nice to have this kind of time to create these pretty clothes..
Very beautiful and always inspiring. Thanks from Seattle.
Thank you Laureen!
Hello Dear Girl, I think dressing is the theater of everyday life
Yes you are right !
Thank you for sharing your own wardrobe approach, your style seems to be very versatile! Thank you glad you liked the video !
Thank you for sharing your style, yes there are always ways to mary practical and feminine at least in colors and details! Oh thank you ! :)
Tutu yoga sounds wonderful!
I would love to see some more videos on the creation of your clothes. So lovely.🌿I also appreciate reading all the comments of your subscribers.🌷
Thank you ! :)
I love vintage clothes and beautiful fabrics...so I mix silks, lace, velvet tops with my bright coloured tiered skirts. I love the Edwardian period, but also any period before the 1920s.
I love your romantic vintage clothes. Do you wear a vintage perfume.
No, but Im for sure inetrested in past perfumes and scents, but need to do more research on that !
So lovely to share your beautiful world and to be reminded of the joy dressing can inspire in yourself and those around you ❤
Thank you Zita! Absolutely it's the opposite of a self centered approach to dressing, the reactions it can create around us are always interesting!

So beautiful, Lovely pieces. Thank you for sharing. It's too bad copies of your book can't be handed out to schools. For required reading.
Thank you Judy! yes we would all benefit from these books and for sure even younger generations! ;)
Excellent !

That's a nice saying Penny ! Thank you !
An exquisite & charming video. So lovely to watch ...💜
Thank you :)
@@Merveillesenpapier thanks for your encouragement ❤
I adore your fashion taste, Laetitia! Whimsical yet elegant and put together. For myself, I try to choose natural fibers and attempt to thrift a good deal of my clothes. I wear a lot of dresses and flowy tops in floral colors/patterns with black tights or legging and flats - comfortable yet still presentable (hopefully ha!).
Thank you Shawna! yes natural fibers are so much better it's teh reason I almost don't buy new things anymore, these polyesters and viscoses are not my cup of tea, I'm sure you are very presentable with these combinations ; )
J’adore votre monde de merveilles ! Votre appartement ! Vos habits ! C’est merveilleux d’être pas comme tout le monde !❤
Merci! Je suis contente si ce que vous voyez par ici vous plait ! Vous avez bien raison ce serait très déprimant d'être comme tout le monde ;) !
Lovely video! And now I want to find copies of the books you quoted 😍
Thank you ! They won't be super easy to find, but you might find similar ones in English maybe more easily at leats for the 19th centur ones, though thr memoirs of Elizabeth Vigée Le Brun are available on amazon translated.
I absolutely love this !!!💖
Thank you Debbie !:)
Were do you get your clothing or do you make them I love old clothing
I love colors, textures and certain patterns, sometimes in the foreground and others in the background.
Fabulous video! I just love seeing your clothes - and you have inspired me to get a move on with my mending lol! 🧵🪡😀
Thank you! Glad if it inspired you to do more mending !
I love your style.
Would you or do you have videos regarding hairstyles and accessories for your hair? 😊❤
Maybe I could share than in another video later this, spring summer , no promise but we will see !
@@Merveillesenpapier Thank you, I hope you will. ❤️
Love your videos❤
Thank you !
How do you keep these beautiful older things so white? Bleach could be damaging-is that correct?
You are most welcome, ther are several tracks, I buy them from platforms for content creators so I don't know what is the offical name of the track.
bohhhrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!
I prefer a unique handmade wardrobe I make myself ✨✂️
It's the best option for so many reasons , it's great you can create all your clothes !
What a fairytale world!!! La vie en rose!!!
Thank you ! :)

Do you know of American Duchess shoes? Very well made reproductions from 18th century to 40's, , I believe 1950's
The shoes can be found online
Yes I'm familiar with this website .
