Hi Bob! what an awesome shop!!! You said every man must have a workshop, well I am a woman and have a shop to. I LOVE how you have everything organized. I especially like the swing in and out bandsaw and the bins that have a sample of what is in the bin by afixing a one on the front. My Dad was always tinkering on something and I loved watching him. As I got older,10, he started showing me different things from welding to woodworking. I am very grateful that he did, because now I can fix or build just about anything. He was a welder/pipe fitter so he taught me to stick weld and now use that skill for making sculptures which I sell. I

All the other organising garage-ideas revolved mainly the hanging up, using a grid, overhead storage etc. But you showed me how to use much coveted home space with so much intelligence-loved your shelved door, your plastic bins with hot glued example, your smart use of most used items and integrated tools in your central work table. Great ideas, thanks for letting us pick your brain, Robert.

    Bob,
I have been interested in woodworking most of my life, but have never had the time. I have been working more and more on projects that require a little more then a hammer and nails. Recently, I removed my back porch and replaced it with a modern version. This led me to look into making a shop of my own. I have a single car garage that is really to small for a regular size car, built in 1918, so this video has been very helpful. You have given me several ideas on how to layout and create my own sanctuary. Thanks and be safe...

Hats off to you sir. My own workshop is almost as small and not nearly as efficient with space. I carry my grandfather's torch with loving to work with my hands and I can say you have done a great job. My grandfather's "shop" was no bigger than 4' wide by 10' long yet he made things out of that shop that impressed many. A part of him lives on with me and yes you can say every man alive has this side to him inside, somewhere. Long live our caves!

Bob, I really like your use of swivels and hinges to better utilize space. The vacuums and compressed air plumbing was also impressive. I just moved my studio (not fun) and I'm now in a transitional work space till the new studio is built. I'm gathering ideas and found your video helpful. Thank you!

Hi Robert, Since I was a little boy I used to enjoy going into the garage and fixing up my dads work bench and peg board. When I moved out I always had a small shop at all the places I made home. When I married and bought a house, I had both a garage and a basement! My basement was my sanctuary and how I loved it so. I have since re-married and now have a small garage shop but in the process of a small corner shop where I can really get back to my real creativity and repairs. I love to fix anything broken and to make old things look new. sometimes make new things look old!. In any case i wanted to share these thoughts with you and i do love how you incorporated the bench with the power tools an that was brilliant!!!! I subscribed to your channel and hope to see more soon!!

I work almost exclusively on metal rather than wood so most of the wood working tool ideas don't apply to me but they certainly give me ideas.
I love what you did with your saw hanging from the sealing. I'm definitely doing that with my grinder.
Keeping all batteries charging together is a must for any shop that uses power tools.

I need to incorporate some of those ideas in my workshop. I'm not as much of a woodworker as you, but I reload ammo and gunsmith, and need to get better organized with my many tools. I also have a ton of auto mechanic tools that need better organization in a 24 X30 garage.

Well Bob. There are an awful lot of fairly mundane videos on TH-cam about workshops. How they were built, what has been made in them, how to turn a wooden bowl and so on. But I must say your video is one of the best. Yes, I did get some great ideas for space saving too. Say listen. If you don't have any kids would you like to adopt me and put me in your will for your worshop? Great video. Thanks Bob.

    Hi Bob,
    John Eckert (testbenchtech) here.
I just moved from Ventura Ca. to Vancouver Wa. Where I am going from a 400 square foot electronics lab and work area to about 110 square foot area and trying to fit in everything in will be very difficult.
You have given me some great ideas on space saving and how to make every square foot of floor space and every square inch of wall space useable and accessible.
Thanks so much for the video.

Great shop! And nice video. My only concern is that you have everything energized - or was that just for the video? Even if I didn't have kids, I'd worry somebody might get hurt if I was giving them a tour and they decided it would be funny to try to turn something on... and it actually turns on. Like that circular saw in the middle of the room with the blade up a couple of inches. Otherwise, nice job!
