Some one needs to do a reaction video to "Wizard People, Dear Reader." It's an alternative audio / script for Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone. You mute the movie sound and play the "Wizard People, Dear Reader" audio file instead while you watch the movie (you have to sync it properly at the start, but it's not hard), and you hear a narrator telling a story that is very similar to, but somewhat different from, the original story line, but matches up scene for scene, and is a lot more comedic.
love all of the LOTR references. It's exactly how I watch movies because LOTR are just so ingrained in my brain after being a fan since I was 8 and my brother showed me the movies
So if you go down the third floor trapdoor, you are on the second floor. There you have the Devil's snare plant and the key room. You go through the door, you are still on the second floor. Then the chess room. Maybe a floor down in the mirror room, that would put you roughly on the ground floor.

The thing in alchemy is traditionally called a philosopher's stone, but I guess they were afraid that would sound too intellectual for American audiences.
Yeah, the things safeguarding the Philosophers Stone are uniqly easy to beat for Harry and his Friends, almost like Dumbledoor planned this. I mean, the mirror alone is UNBEATABLE.
Hi Veronique, I've watched a few of your latest videos and liked them so now I am going back to your beginning to binge watch. oops, looks like i've already seen this one with you.
From some of the things you've said here, once you've seen the movies and read the books, you might enjoy the "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality" fanfic.
Welcome to the Wizarding world of Harry Potter. As good as these movies are the audio books are more gooder. Great to listen to in the car. Sorcerer's vs philosopher's? I think it has to do with publishing rights. My big question is why would Hermione feel the need to lie about her rescue from the troll. The truth wasn't hard to explain. Okay, one more. Professor squirrel could touch Harry's neck but not his hand. Like I said the books are better.
OH for sure the books are better, I think it's very rare where the movie/tv series is ever better than the books, or else there would need to be at least 20 movies for this one 😂 I'll be reading the books once I'm done with the franchise!!! :D
ok so you've watched GoT. love it. have you ever watched The Last Kingdom or Vikings? both are great series that are complete and binge-worthy. The Last Kingdom does have a movie set for release next year that is finishing the story, but the show itself is done
23:10 I'm not sure if you were trying to be funny by being so savage to Ron. But it's the most I've laughed recently, and I think that's worthy of some stated praise. "Except being mean to his friends."

In the books, there were 7 traps you had to go through to find the stone. Which doesn't really make sense actually. If Dumbledore didn't want anyone to find it, why not just put it in a locked room with a code that only he knows? lol
Exactly! Lock it away where no one can actually get to it. But then there wouldn't really be an issue with someone getting the philosopher's stone. Ooh 7 traps sound nice!
@@VerowakReacts And there's an even worse plothole that I only noticed after 15 years of watching the movies constantly: Dumbledore says "only someone who wants to find the stone *but not use it* could find it". But wouldn't that make the stone literally useless? If you want to use it, you can't find it, so.....???? 😂 I used to think Harry Potter didn't have any plotholes, but now I know they have some. Which is fine, I think this goes to show how good of a story it was, if it took me years to notice holes in it because I was so invested in everything else.
@@j.f.fisher5318 No he didn't. Quirrell/Voldemort still got through all of the challenges. The only reason they didn't get the stone was because of the spell that says they only could get it if they didn't want to use it. Which also raises the question: if no one could get it if they wanted to use it, why hide the stone at all? It could be in the middle of the great hall and it would still be safe.
What makes you think that the title is "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" in the rest of the world? In Germany it is called "Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen" 😉😉 That would literally translate to something like "Harry Potter and the Sage's Stone".

Once you are done with the series, you should watch and react to Team StarKid's Harry Potter Musical trilogy (A Very Potter Musical, A Very Potter. Sequel, and A Very Potter Senior Year) and then perhaps the other shows.
That's the first time I ever hear of those! I listened to a bit of the video on TH-cam but the sound quality wasn't too good. Is there a better version somewhere, or it's all on Team StarKid's YT channel?
@@VerowakReacts Unfortunately, the sound quality of the first musicals is poor because all they had were university auditorium stage mics. So, it is best to watch with subtitles. There is just the music from the album on TH-cam which helps you hear the songs better, but the video is just what is on their channel. Since they didnt expect it to go viral and they had a very small budget, they had to make due with the stage mics. But the subtitles do help and, in fact, Team StarKid themselves did the subtitles (if I am not mistaken), so the words you see is what is actually said. After the first few shows, they get those personal mic packs and the quality is better. Like I said, it is just a fun suggestion and the performances are well done. There is some strong, explicit language and "adult" situations, but overall the shows are fun. I hope that helps a little. 🙂
I usually lurk and stay quiet on TH-cam for fear of seeming like I self promote but I want to be more active so I'll do just that! I liked watching your reaction videos!!

I always have random references when watching movies. I'm glad you're the same!! LOTR is just so epic and amazing
I'm glad I watched some of your other reactions first. You definitely picked this movie apart. Not wrong... just surprises.
*surprised*
So if you go down the third floor trapdoor, you are on the second floor. There you have the Devil's snare plant and the key room. You go through the door, you are still on the second floor. Then the chess room. Maybe a floor down in the mirror room, that would put you roughly on the ground floor.
There is a movie about Witches and Wizards that stars Jimmy Stewart ..it is called "Bell Book And Candle" one of the actual costars in this movie is Hermione Gingold, a big star.
Hey! I'm your 101st subscriber!
Great react! I advise all reactors to think of the films as one epic story (like the LOTR trilogy is the epic about the War of The Ring).
Also, if something doesn't pay off in one film, it probably will later. 🎥 ⚡ 💓 👓 🍿
Welcome and thank you! I love epic tales and the Lord of the Rings trilogy are my favourite movies. Very curious to see how the Harry Potter universe will develop
Sorcerer’s Stone and Philosopher’s Stone are the same book, one title in the US and one in the UK.
I look forward to a section of reactions called "misunderstanding movies", where there is a good dose of sarcasm... :v
I feel like that would be great!!
A Parliament of Owls. The films do get better (and darker) as the series continues.
The movies getting darker sounds great! Now I'm looking forward to the rest of the movies even more
Loving this, so excited for the journey! :)
I'm glad you enjoy it!! The movies are just getting better and better
Great start, looking forward to more!
Thanks! Plenty more movies to watch :D
Stuck at the airport. To much chaos. I can't wait to watch this later!
a flock of owls is a parliament
Hi Veronique, I've watched a few of your latest videos and liked them so now I am going back to your beginning to binge watch. oops, looks like i've already seen this one with you.
From some of the things you've said here, once you've seen the movies and read the books, you might enjoy the "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality" fanfic.
This is the first I hear of this fanfic, and I'm interested!! Thank you
@@VerowakReacts My pleasure - I hope you enjoy it!
Yes you called it by the correct name
Those LOTR references are gold! 😄
Douchenozzle LOL damn I haven't heard that one in ages
It's a pretty common one for me :D I just like the sound of it
23:10 I'm not sure if you were trying to be funny by being so savage to Ron. But it's the most I've laughed recently, and I think that's worthy of some stated praise. "Except being mean to his friends."
I do have a savage streak that shows up from time to time for certain characters 😁
Great reaction, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So I just discovered your channel, and I quite enjoyed this reaction. You’ll notice that the books contain more details than the movies. One detail is that in the book, each obstacles that is placed to protect the Sorcerer’s Stone was designed by each Hogwarts professors. I also saw your Sorting Hat quiz; welcome to Ravenclaw and to the Wizarding World from your new Hufflepuff Subscriber. I look forward to more of your reactions. 🧑🏻🪄💎🦅🦡💙🧡🖤💛
Someone else said that the obstacles were done by Hogwarts teachers which makes it that much better!! I love that little fact
Welcome to the Harry Potter universe! Any idea when you’ll do Chamber of Secrets?
I'm currently editing it so hopefully early next week! I just want to watch all of them but editing takes a while :D
looking forward to more videos from you. Good luck on your new journey
Thank you! I'm excited for it and I'm learning a LOT about things from everyone in the comments without getting spoilers, which is amazing!
It's a Parliament of Owls (better late than never eh?).
@@VerowakReacts And there's an even worse plothole that I only noticed after 15 years of watching the movies constantly:
Dumbledore says "only someone who wants to find the stone *but not use it* could find it". But wouldn't that make the stone literally useless? If you want to use it, you can't find it, so.....???? 😂
I used to think Harry Potter didn't have any plotholes, but now I know they have some. Which is fine, I think this goes to show how good of a story it was, if it took me years to notice holes in it because I was so invested in everything else.
@@erikperhs_ There are some things that I just assume is weird because of the adaptation.
He basically did, except that Harry inadvertently "knew" it too. The stone would have been fine if Harry hadn't interfered.
A few months late but loved the edit!: 🎵Snape, Severus Snape, Gryffindor!🎶
What makes you think that the title is "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" in the rest of the world? In Germany it is called "Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen" 😉😉
That would literally translate to something like "Harry Potter and the Sage's Stone".
It's what the internet told me when I did a quick search 😄
Your prediction of "people crying in the bathroom" is why the original name was considered "Harry Potter Enters Public Schooling"
The LOTR references had me laughing so much 😂😂
You have a great voice and presence! :)
Thank you!! I never really liked my voice, so I appreciate hearing that ☺️
new sub, found you through your HG reaction. great list you have so far. looking forward to future content. huge HP fan here. #ProudPuff let's go
the wizard world is very dangerous bc magic can heal a lot of th8ngs
I would have loved to have seen more healing magic
One day I can look back and say “oh hey! I was the 15th subscriber to this channel!”
15!!! THank you!!!
I don't understand why many reactors get surprise about a fliying motocycle in a movie that is literally about magic
It's the philosopher's stone everywhere except the US. The publisher thought American kids wouldn't understand it so they changed it.
I find it funny how they did that
uncut pineapple is for presentation. There is enough food there for everyone without cutting this one fruit
This movie would imply that you have never watched a Harry Potter movie before. :o
Basically yeah! I don't really know what happens in the Harry Potter universe :D
Flock of owls is a parliament...
Not sure if anyone has commented that yet
I looked it up after the reaction and put in the text in case others didn't know :D I like that it's called a parliament
Mary Poppins is a classic and I for one would love to watch a reaction for it. I won't ask your age. I'm in my mid 40s and grew up with it. I think everyone should see it at least once
Revisionist reviewing is sometimes good for the soul. In this case, it also seems fun. Subbed. I have some catching up to do, as the YT Algorithm sent me here. And R I P to Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid).
yup they didn't think we were intelligent enough
What type of movies do you prefer?
I like drama, thrillers, anything to do with time travelling, movies with twists in them, fantasy. I'm not a big fan of comedies and action movies have gotten to be a bit too much lately (the typical ex-FBI/CIA/marine/army person that has their past come back to haunt them or whatnot). Oh, also not a fan of gore. Aside from those 3 things, I'll give anything a chance!
Good reaction. Good luck with your channel. I hope you do more reactions.
Thank you!! I definitely want to do movies and tv series, not sure what else would be neat.
Amazing start. By any chance you know what your Hogwarts house is or are planning to take an online quiz to figure out what you are?
Ooh, I don't know my house! I'll definitely take a quiz though to find out, thank you!!
Frist movie were more for younger audiences, later ones get darker.
It's so neat how they did that. So many kids got to grow up alongside the movies
"Maybe she (Hermione) should be in Slytherin ?"
no, in Ravenclaw, but all the main good guys are Gryffindor...
Great reaction n now I’m a subscriber
THank you! and welcome!!!
Would be interested to know what caused you to create this channel, and start with this specific series.
Though I'm even more interested to see where it leads. My regards.
I haven't seen a LOT of the classic/well known movies. Been wanting to make a react channel for a while but was too scared/worried. Started watching some movies with my discord community... Finally got the courage to make this channel. I regret watching all those movies for the first time in the past couple of years so they could have been on this channel lol
@@VerowakReacts The edits required for TH-cam must be difficult with their constantly changing guidelines - you may not have experienced that yet, but I certainly wish you the best moving forward.
I have a very large movie collection myself (physical copies), and would be interested to see where you proceed from here. Regardless, I wish you the best.
@@UpYourArsenal Oh the edits are... interesting for sure! Which movies are some of your favourites, and thank you!
@@VerowakReacts Oh my. That question makes me more uncomfortable than thinking I accidentally offended you. I've seen 50+ full watch throughs / reaction videos, and I've never attempted to score them against each other. I'd like to comment some movies to your page, but I'd prefer you establish your preferences first before I got to the extremes. lol! My regards, to you.
@@UpYourArsenal No worries! Overall, I'm not a huge fan of comedy, and I find the pacing of older movies a bit slow (some early 80s stuff, but mostly earlier than that). Aside from that, I love watching different things
you will love the other movies!!
Just watched the third and I definitely really enjoyed that one!!!
Yay!!!
hello saludos desde Perú viendo tu reaccion🕶 ❤🇵🇪
Restricted section doesn't mean it's hard to get in, it's Restricted without permission from a teach.
Restricted sections in my experience are usually hard to get to since students aren't freely allowed in there.
Maybe you should react to Mary Poppins some time
Well she took so much from LOTR it's easy to confuse the too.
Curious to see how much the similarities are
To see actual little Geoffrey, watch Batman Begins. ;)
After I saw Game of Thrones and learned that he was in Batman Begins, I rewatched it and saw him 😂
@@VerowakReacts yeah now impossible to unsee him
Once you are done with the series, you should watch and react to Team StarKid's Harry Potter Musical trilogy (A Very Potter Musical, A Very Potter.
@@krissmith800 That helps a LOT actually! Didn't think that subtitles would be good, but it seems like they will be!
UK title released as The Philosopher's Stone. In the US, The Sorcerer's Stone.
The negative things you were saying about Ron really shows how the movie butchered his character even on the first film. Among several other things.
YASSS let's go!
Not gonna lie, your videos and your channel encouraged me to do this finally!! 😊
@@VerowakReacts What the heck, really?! That's so kind! 😭 I can't wait to join you on your HP journey and whatever you watch after this. ❤️
I usually lurk and stay quiet on TH-cam for fear of seeming like I self promote but I want to be more active so I'll do just that! I liked watching your reaction videos!!
@@VerowakReacts The culture is a bit different here with that compared to Twitch! Comments and likes are so welcome always!
@@kaiielle Must just be the crowd I found that isn't great, but I'll learn to be better!
Why u so mean to dudley
Don’t listen to people saying the books are better and the movies suck cause they’re wrong. The books are FULL of Rowlings petty and mean nature, neo liberalism, defense of slavery and much more. They’re shit and only looked at as classics because of nostalgia, the movies are a million times better.
I definitely think people are either pro book, or anti book. I'm usually interested in reading/seeing the differences between the two (if characters changed, if events changed to fit the movie format, etc)
Books are better, movie are okay too. Ignore the hate comments about JK.
@@Wellch you’re wrong
@@Wellch Books are usually better, but the movies are still pretty great. Just aimed towards a younger audience than other epic fantasy stories, but it's nice that the characters grow with the people who watch/read them
@@Jackson-jd1um You seem to be confusing your opinions with facts.
My only critique is the constant recalling of all the references you knew of...Why not just keep the commentary to the scene @ hand. Your sarcasm, as it’s your first film of the franchise, like what’s dangerous...I shudder to think what the upcoming commentaries will look like as things become more “dangerous”. Perhaps don’t assume so much until you’re @ least 3 movies in...? 🤷🏻♀️
Or I can react however is natural to me and say what comes to mind.
