As a fellow Necron player, I killed 70% of a SM army turn 1 and tabled them turn 2. When the dice are with us, it is not fair. They didn't even get one of my models

To Bricky, the way reanimation works now, when a warrior dies, it actually dies, reanimating means you can put back a warrior in coherency with the unit, meaning you can deny some shots from enemy units if you move around your unit due to your warriors dying and reanimating elsewhere , I know you're chilling in these games, but at least you know the possibility ^^
@@kamikeserpentail3778 If there are 0 left after an attack, then there is no one left to have the re-animation ability. You need at least one model in the unit to exist.
@@levonleastman8054 I went change from 8 to 9 I think I just short handed it in my head as generally like disgusting resilience used to be for death guard. I guess I assumed that since it triggered after every shot rather than at the start of the turn or whatever, that it no longer needed to worry about the squad being wiped. But I haven't been able to play against necron.
@@kamikeserpentail3778 yeah did it wrong first time I played vs newcrons and was his first time with them as well. Was an awkward game where my mortifiers would kill all the warriors in shooting, then again in melee, and still had someone at the end

I feel like strategic deployment behind terrain and more deep strike units + more "elite"/durable units are a way to go nowadays with nids. Zoantrophs, Tyranid Warriors, Ripper Swarms and HIVE GUARD with some cheap HQ like Neurothrope, Broodlord etc. and Exocrine for anty elite/vehicle. I feel like instead of melee unit + Trygon Prime deep striking it is better to use some shooting+melee unit with him. Probably

As someone who has just started getting back into Warhammer after not playing since 3rd/4th edition Necrons I'm loving seeing all the Necron games and love on TH-cam recently

It won't be competitive but it will have units I like the look of which is what got me liking Necrons when they were released in 3rd Edition nearly 20 years ago. I was a massive Terminator fan and they're the closest you can get to it in 40k. I've just pre-ordered the Combat Patrol and very very slowly painting by way through the Indomitus box. Would love to get the Eradication Legion too but it's way over priced now it's out of print.

@@jamesdo8988 the only way to have a stat like that is to record it from tournament games, I would guess 90% of people who play Warhammer have never been to a tournament and are not playing the calibre of list you would take to one
@@jonooldham8440 except that tournament play is the most even (theoretically) form of Warhammer so that would be the place where the rate would actually matter. If a match is won/lost off of a first turn alpha strike that would more denote problems with the terrain, the lists, or even deployment. You know the saying- always deploy as if you’re going second.

Minimal rules-lawyering and _'I have a 77.3% chance so even though I missed it was still the right tactical move andandand-'_ nonsense. Subbed.

Brand new here, watched 1-2 batreps last week, I gotta say I love this, props to the editor, love the length of this, haven't watched many batreps lately since most are 2-3 hours on the other big warhammer batrep channels, fastforwarding movement phase, nice camera angles and production
both of these armies’ lore make it so you have to kill the entire army to win, because even if one survives then they can regrow their armies to the millions very fast
I just stumbled into the 40k lore 2 days ago and had my mind melted by the illustrations. After seeing the lore, the models and the gamble of the roll paired with drinking and polite shit talkin/mutual celebration I am SOLD! Getting some lore books and hitting a table with Adeptus Custodes and neat whiskey in hand soon!

I had the honor of watching a Necron player repeatedly reanimate most of a Warrior squad while facing an Imperial Knight army. It took 5 whole turns for those Warriors to finally meet their end.
Hey really enjoying the batreps, I don´t know if you are open for sugestions but for me a nice touch is doing some close shots of the action in turns, it gives a more cinematic feeling thatn the aerial camera where you cant spot the aestetics of the miniatures. Cheers! and kudos on the news about casting chapter tactis.

Illuminor augments the unit "at the end of the movement phase" - so for veil of darkness for example, they can't be teleportet in the turn after they got buffed.
Ive never played warhammer 40k tabletop but it sounds like he was "rerolling one" not "ones" as in he got to reroll any one die not a die that was only one.
Can’t even imagine being in the actual 40k universe and you unleash a volley of artillery and death onto a necron army just for them to shake it off basically
