We’re so glad you found it useful, have a wonderful time! It was so fun to watch the dolphins interact with the trainers. Thanks so much for the support. If you are interested in seeing more of The Big Island we did a detailed travel guide th-cam.com/video/RfE4oZ0YXWg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the great video! We’ve been to Hilton Waikoloha Village multiple times (last time was late March, 2024) and you did a very accurate review of this location. It definitely is a very large location and, as you stated, not cheap! 😊 Couple of my own thoughts…1) It would be nice to have a few more dining options, especially for dinner and they have short window times (5-9 pm), although the Tap Room is open later with a more limited, but varied menu. With this being such a large location, I think they are a little short on dining options. With that said, we have eaten at all of them and they were all quite good. Tip #1 - The fruit platter at the Lagoon Grill is excellent…comes with very fresh fruit and a large slice of banana bread! Tip #2 - The coffee location by the Makai Tower is open till 3:00 pm daily; however, if you want a pastry or muffin with your coffee, GO EARLY! The employee who waited on me said they usually have a long line when they first open (7:45, I believe) and they typically run out of breakfast food items quickly. I went there around noon and they had none left! Again, thank you, very informative, especially for those thinking of visiting for the first time! 😊😊👍👍
Thanks for the tips! Its a huge hotel and very different from the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Oahu. I think between the 2 resorts we would prefer this one. I like the fact its so spread out making it feeling less crowded. Thanks again for the added tip and we appreciate the support!
Wow, thanks! Really appreciate the kind words. I always try to include all the things that I would want to know if I was thinking about staying at the hotel. Thanks for the support we appreciate it 🙏 we also did a full travel guide to visiting the big island if you’re interested. That one is narrated by my husband. th-cam.com/video/RfE4oZ0YXWg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eyCeQhG_EcPbLEtU
Thanks for such a detailed review of the Hilton Waikoloa Village! The information about the amenities, the room options, and especially the beautiful surroundings of the Big Island were super helpful. It's great to know what to expect before planning a trip. Your insights definitely make this hotel look like a fantastic choice for a Hawaii vacation! 🌺
Hi Meredith, Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for the support. Make sure to do the manta ray night snorkel excursion on The Big Island. Do not miss out on that!!!! It was the highlight of our trip. www.viator.com/tours/Big-Island-of-Hawaii/Manta-Ray-Sunset-Snorkel/d669-89864P5?pid=P00152352&uid=U00443667&mcid=58086¤cy=USD
Hope you have a great vacation! 🌴 The Makai tower is a good choice, avoid the tram as I mentioned it goes really slow. Try & book a manta Ray snorkeling trip you will not be disappointed- it’s really quite an incredible experience www.viator.com/tours/Big-Island-of-Hawaii/Sunset-Manta-Ray-Snorkel/d669-8571P1?pid=P00152352&uid=U00443667&mcid=58086¤cy=USD
Thank you so much for this video. My family and I went to Hilton Hawaiian Village in Oahu in Jan 24. We are planning to visit the Big Island in 2026. We were discussing this very place! Mahalo 🤟🏼
We did Hilton Hawaiian Village last year. This one is smaller- we enjoyed it more than Hawaiian Village. The dolphin experience looks amazing & they seem to be really well taken care of, I’m bummed that we missed the morning where they let the dolphins swim in the lagoon Hope your trip is amazing!!!!
Thank you! I’m from big island and taking my little family back to show them where I grew up. I’ve only ever stayed in the ocean tower I’m curious do you have a mini fridge and everything on the makai room as well?
That is awesome! I know we had a fridge in our room I’m sure they had them in every room, you can always check with the hotel. I know sometimes if hotel rooms don’t have fridges we ask for one to be delivered to the room. Have a wonderful visit, we also did a review of the entire island be sure to check that out! 🙌
Dear @Scottsdale Travel Chick, My Fiancè (Vicky,) and I, are getting married next May 21st, and we are thinking of having our honeymoon and and spending 13 nights at the Waikoloa Village, and the cost, including flights is circa....are you ready for it....USD12,000.00, and thats just for room and flights, no extras. and in your expert opinion, (we will be coming from London, UK,) do you think it's worth it, and also, Vicky wants to swim with the dolphins, which is her dream, and how much does it cost p.p. and how far in adavnce do you need to book this, to avoid disappointment? Finally, just as a rule of thumb, as everything over the room rate is at extra cost (and we won't have a car rental,) how much should we budget for eating and drinking each day, as an average? Your advice would be greatly appreciated, Best regarsd to you and amazing videos by the way, Chris (and Vicky)
Just got back. Very disappointing. Staff shortages have many things closed. Limited restaurants and bars. There is no pool bar service. Service and attention to detail are 2 stars at best. Concierge acts as they are doing a favor. One breakfast spot in middle of the complex with $55.00 buffet. Coffe bars at each end of the complex run out of any food by 8:30 am. And be prepared to walk, walk, walk. Tram is extremely slow and rarely available when needed. Would think twice before booking.
@@scottsdaletravelchick I really don't understand your review. It's very evident how sucky it is now and has been for years. You should not be recommending it. The Marriott down the street is vastly superior.
This video is awesome. My family of 5 is headed here next week. I really enjoyed being able to see everything the resort offers. Thank you!

Was it really crowded while you were there?
No, not crowded at all. They were all complaining how slow it was.@@scottsdaletravelchick
It started going down hill years ago.

This hotel has deteriorated greatly. It needs to be bought by someone who cares about having a first class facility.
