      @@CWJ0725 I was/am iffy about the Doc signing but that's not the right idea. The last Clippers team played less than 30 total games together, PG was beyond horrible and they were still up 3-1, leading by almost 15 at the end of the 3rd quarter of Game 5... The *only* thing Doc was wrong for was not being able to close. But coaching-wise, he did everything to put them in a position to succeed.

      You can be authentic and likable all you want that don’t mean you gonna win sure as hell doesn’t mean your coaching style will work. He’s a cool dude and definitely can relate to players but Devin Booker scores 70 points in a losing effort and your letting the team celebrate afterwards, I think he focused too much on the being liked by the players instead of coming up with a system that would win ball games.

What he did for Devon can not be talked about enough. Just looked at what Del Harris did to Kobe Bryant before he had a chance to get on the court. Booker was clearly the right choice, but that doesn't have as much to do with the kind of player Knight is as it did him just being out of position and Booker being a natural 2 and superstar talent. He really needed to stay a pg and figure out how to run an offense.

    The GM/Management didn't think to consult Earl or the staff before investing 140 mil into the exact same type of guard, interim or not??? and I fux wit Bledsoe and B. Knight, where tf is B. Knight? 🧐 Book has a top 10 skill set in the league, he plays ALOT OF PG. Rubio really helped him be more effective this year and Oubre can be a regular problem, Phx needs a PF that can 3 and D and they cooking with hot grease....

  • @deltamike3675
    @deltamike3675 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s all nice and cute when you’re all for the player and their success even when they’re not playing for you... but GMs and owners have got to be thinking like wait, if he’s going to be successful - might as well be here. Then if not, you may follow the player out the door too.

    • @J-Hue
      @J-Hue 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's probably how they looked at it too, but it doesn't have to be that cut and dry.
      You can build an elite organization and look out for players' best interest even when you trade them away at the same time. That kind of business even builds good report with players for FA.

    You can be authentic and likable all you want that don’t mean you gonna win sure as hell doesn’t mean your coaching style will work. He’s a cool dude and definitely can relate to players but Devin Booker scores 70 points in a losing effort and your letting the team celebrate afterwards, I think he focused too much on being liked by the players instead of coming up with a system that would win ball games.

    • @jameslockman7664
      @jameslockman7664 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thinkk Earl's issue was he was looking too far into the future. He saw what Booker could do three years down the line without considering what he could do currently. Sure Kieff and rookie Booker could get buckets as the primary options, but they're not good enough players to have that much freedom. It was good for Booker's development but as a young coach you gotta prove you can win ball games first.

      dds fanatic001 That culture he was creating was laughable if you go back and look at the rosters he had you’d be surprised how much players are actually doing good on other teams sometimes it does take a coach to bring it out of you. Devin Booker, TJ Warren, Eric Bledsoe, Markieff Morris, Derrick Jones, Jared Dudley, Leandro Barbosa, PJ Tucker, Brandon knight if you ask me that is around the same talent they have rn maybe even more and the coach this year almost got them to the playoffs.

      @@jeremyjones2485 - I disagree. The Suns have more balanced roster (better defense to pair with offense) compared to when Earl coached them. Examples: Rubio sets plays, defends, slashes, and has an improved jump shot. Ayton, Saric, and Baynes rebound, defend the post, and can make mid-to-long-range jump shots. Oubre has improved defense on the perimeter to go with scoring.
