Some of them I've heard have essentially hardwired bloatware installed on the physical hardware. There are some reports a few of these OEMs have Spyware chips on the MOBOs themselves. And makes the information easier for hackers and other malicious groups to get into the information through a sort of backdoor.

The key board not cracking till it did doesn't surprise me as it's only the plastic shell cracking. As a rage gamer membrane keyboards last longest when raging. The Blackwidow Chroma Ultimate v1 lasted through much abuse as well. Being bent back and forth over my knee (fixing the M key after smacking it back over my knee to straighten it) because that's a thing. Having a noticable divot in the board after multiple punches and still works. Some buttons require an odd press to work and occasionally just won't but still impressive.

When I got it, I recall the pre-installed Dell Windows 10 image had the same amount of bloatware, along with hardware stability issues. For no reason, Windows would completely stop responding except for the mouse cursor, requiring a hard reboot. Once I installed a clean Windows 10 OS via USB, the bloatware was gone and Windows never froze anymore. The 5675 also has support for Windows 11! It's definitely not the best gaming PC, but for something to run retro game emulators and making a media center PC with an ATSC USB TV tuner dongle, the 5675 will do fine for that. Oddly, the 5675 UEFI setup looks nothing like the G5 5000. It's a InsydeH20 interface straight out of the early 2000s!

This actually worked well for me. I needed a mid-range GPU, and my son was asking for a computer to play Roblox on. I picked this up for $620 - I was able to pull the GPU out, stick my old 960 in this and my custom build is running much higher benchmarks than these. I couldn't find a 1660S for under $600 at the time so this worked out great.

I worked in IT at a company that works exclusively with Dell. We wrote a script for internal use that uninstalls everything but our whitelist of company approved programs, (essentially nothing, even removes Microsoft nonessentials like Microsoft store). This video reminded me of that script...
Got a personal laptop through the company. The only pre-installed program that still remains is Dell update command. Since I can't be bothered to compare version numbers and that program does not run unless opened (at least I do not recall modifying it to operate that way).
    Edit: added a space...

I would like to see a part 3 where you optimize the system in any way you can. Put in a extra fan or 2, another channel of RAM, fresh Windows 10 install, maybe take off the front panel and see what that gets the system in benchmarks. I know it wont fix the fan curves or any of the other inherent problems, but it could be a perfect show and tell as to why Dell just sucks at building systems. It would cost little extra to put in another fan and the rest is optimization that costs nothing.

I bought a Skytech Gaming PC a couple months ago for $1500.00 and couldn't be happier. Ryzen 5 3600, 3060 TI (Zotac gaming OC version), 16 GB hyper 3000mhz ram, 1 TB M.2 WD blue, Thermaltake 600W gold, b450 Asus prime mobo. Only thing I did was add an AIO...CPU never over 65 C playing warzone and I get 130-150 average frames on 1080p medium settings. I am going to upgrade the mobo next then later down the road get a 5600x probably but I love the PC honestly. It did go up in price lately though, I guess I got it just in time. My coworker tried to tell me to get this Dell and I am so happy I didn't, especially after seeing this. I wanted to build one myself so bad that as soon as I got my new AIO, I literally tore the whole PC down and rebuilt it from the beginning LOL.

Nice set of reviews. Very thorough. It's gratifying to see the next generation picking up the ball and running with it educating consumers the some (most) prebuilt computers from brand names make sacrifices that hurt overall performance or put one high-end piece in a build and "qualify" it as a gaming or CAD machine.
All parts musty be suitable for the task and the teardown and measurements demonstrate this. Some manufacturers put a LS400 Corvette motor under the hood and pair it up with a 5400rpm mechanical drive. WTF??? I don't even understand the small boor SSD and a big mechanical drive. Most users (non-geeks) do not understand what a D: or E: drive is for!

Interesting this series. One thing I reckon could be of benefit is having someone from Dell on to actually explain why they feature such bloatware and get them to go through and explain what the purpose of most of their bloatware is. I do think that some of it is genuinely beneficial like the Service and Support/Warranty apps but obviously most is actually 'bloatware'. This is problem the main thing missing from your video to really make it top notch - a more formal opportunity for Dell to rebut any claims you make and it'd just be interesting to see what they'd say if you had a guest employee of theirs.
