I say 904 and 914 along with a few gallery cars should get preserved by the Grapevine Vintage Railroad in Grapevine Texas to use on their excursion trains between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. It would be very cool if this happened which I hope I can happen.
This should be able to happen eventually, unless the contract is passed between CalTrain and a similar Peruvian Railroad that is requesting these locomotives to be transported to them for use.
I was thinking that Caltrain 916 can be added to the list of F40s being sold to the grapevine vintage railroad their FL9 locomotives are both 2014 and 2016 so they can have the F40s as similar numbers 914 and 916 along with 904 as their third F40

@@PeninsulaTrainFan Yeah because the grapevine vintage railroad acquired former commuter FL9 locomotives from the new haven railroad back in 2019
