Might be the most epic play I have ever seen by Dark in game 1, he made the spell we barely ever see look amazing, the way he made sure his army stayed in the protected zone, Hydra/Infestor movements were sick.
LOL @ 21:42 - 21:44 that yelp is pure gold never thought i'd hear you make that sound, it made me laugh out loud literally i hardly ever get to laugh , really laugh, so thank you for that; its been a terrible day bro
It's basically the same reason why marine marauder is so good, now hydras are a lot more expensive and take a lot longer to field but trading hydras protected by shroud with carriers seems like it'll always be a good trade.
Of course the counter to mass hydras with infestor backup is to just stop or not transition into carriers and just get zealots and disruptors and such, or maybe a storm or two.
26:50 while Harstem expounds on the little tricks these pros are demonstrating recently, he misses the opportunity to mention a neat little trick herO is demonstrating right that moment - shading the first adept to attack while retreating it in physical form, leaving Dark in the dark (sorry about the pun) about where exactly it is.
Did dark plan to bait hero into carriers with the knowledge that he could win a base trade at that particular timing? Is it darks reasoning that carriers are bad into hydra infestor in a base trade situation because they need money to rebuild interceptors? Dark is crazy af
32:28 if you said "stool" then you should look up the various meanings such as it could mean human poo / feces lol. so when you say it sounds "sick" i had to laugh again, you're like butter on a roll this video bro lmao
Does microbial shroud, reduce air spell damage. IE Yomato cannon.... The damage output of a carrier fully loaded is - 37.5 dps to 45 dps. With Microbial shroud its about 19 to 22 dps... damage. Which makes intercepors.. have the same dps as hydralisks... interceptor 40/40 4 hits. However this isn't hte problem the problem is interceptor base damage is what realyl does not the collective damage... So its 5 damage shoots twice. it scales with air damage. THe problem is that... carapace upgrade reduces by one... Pretty sure the order of operations is Microbial shroud then subtraction from the attack first, as an attack is subtracted whe na unit is attacked so microbial is super good. 5 /2 minus armor level. Suddenly we get 2.5 and maybe even minus 3... and all those upgrades are halved also... so the intereceptor ends up doing a minimum of about 2 damage per interceptor... Because of the order of operations.. if it was damage redcued first because of carapace and then microbial shroud you would lose more health but that wouldn't make sense, since armor is a individual unti nad microbial shroud effects attacking the ground. Hydralisk has a base damage of 12.. so... every 7/ 8 shots an interceptor is going to crash, and the the damage output of inteceptors udner the shroud can based at 1 (x2).. pretty much... so 90 health... a full carrier couldn't kill a hyrda fast enough before losing interceptors. The question is then kill the carrier or the interceptor... With the shields being affected from the last patch it makes microbial shroud and hydras verse carriers a pretty good call as carriers are when ineffective resource pigs... at that point.
I thought that mass hydra + shroud + fungal on interceptors to counter carriers was a garbage concept I came up with in the metal league and shouldn't ever work. but OF COURSE (sarcastic), the problem wasn't the concept but the fact that I didn't play like dark.
I saw a prominent Starcraft 2 content creator point out a while ago that the cost of interceptors would never factor in. I am not sure that comment still holds up.
Dark plays too defensively that he forgot to counter stealthily, unlike Serral who's balanced in both offense and defense flawlessly. Serral would've sent mass lings and banes stealthily to wreck havoc the eco while the opponent's busy attacking his base. The best defense is stealthy offense after all.
Hydras are underestimated. I wish they had a comeback. Why is nobody doing hydradrops for example? 8 hydras behind the mineralline should kill about 18 workers in 5 seconds. Doesnt hat sound like its worth it? The cheesiest man should give it a shot i think ; ) Pleeeease?
Way back in WoL, aZerg Hydra dropped me in one of my first placement matches. Back then droplords were 200\200, and it converted all you ov's at once - so he drops like 64 or so hydra and just rolled through me. At that time, Hydra were dead slow, with no offcreep speed, so it might've been meta at the time. Any push with Hydra was automatically an all in. 😭🐲
What is it that allows Dark to pull such magic tricks? It can't be just pure macro. Sure, he is a macro machine, but not any more or less than other top pros.
Hero is probably one of the worst when it comes to unit micro at the pro level, he’s really good in early game when there are small numbers and he can focus on them but when he gets into the later games and has multiple control groups he always seems fall apart. He often gets punished by Zerg run by or miss positions his critical units like disrupters and colossus in the late game which leaves him on the back foot when the counter attack hits. Hero’s macro is great but his biggest strengths are all about his insane aggression in the early-mid game and finding good timing/angles to attack from. Watch him closely and you’ll notice he often looses late game matches.
Game 1 was more of a throw from Hero than a magic trick out of Dark. Hero didn't do enough to keep the hydras home so Dark went on the offensive and since Hero didn't commit to either offense or defense, he not only didn't gain much of anything from the attack but also lost a base and had to cancel his 5th while having to do lurker clean up duty, which drew out the game further and further until Dark had enough to slow the carriers down while still doing lurker run bys, meanwhile Hero is just sitting around, poking and prodding but not commiting to anything other than killing the third, once. Dark is an incredible player with great game sense for what his opponent is doing, but it's hard for me to say he pulled a rabbit out of a hat that game when both the rabbit and hat were handed to him.
I watch and Still somehow I'm bored AF. Just seems like watching a jank fest OVER and OVER and OVER. Not noticeably different from "surprise random bane bust" OOOHHHHH....such skill much thought....

21:42 An appropriate response, since that snipe was godlike! Dark's intuition and anticipation are top of the class!
It's basically the same reason why marine marauder is so good, now hydras are a lot more expensive and take a lot longer to field but trading hydras protected by shroud with carriers seems like it'll always be a good trade.

Aye aye captain! Off to the ladder I go then...

21:44 that Prism snipe has me convinced Dark is an Old God with powers we can only begin to understand.
16:49 dark playing the game the way blizzard intended haha.
17:00 he went brood wars with hydra swarm. Only zealots worth charge can win
plus the shrouds to serve as dark swarm. i thought he was practicing for brood war or something lol
Did dark plan to bait hero into carriers with the knowledge that he could win a base trade at that particular timing? Is it darks reasoning that carriers are bad into hydra infestor in a base trade situation because they need money to rebuild interceptors? Dark is crazy af
Maybe dark does weird stuff just to bait a particular response from his opponent that he knows he can beat
that game 1 was SICK
Cool 1st game, reminds me of starcraft 1, hydra /defiler would squash most "carrier / battle cruiser" comps vs pubs.
I cant believe dark won that first game. Beat skytoss with lurkers.
hydras*
@@nfzeta128 lurker larvae* 😊
@@enriquegarciacota3914 lol. tom-ay-to, to-mah-to.
"Age old question: Roach man or Hydra man?" - Kevin 2023
That game 1 hydra dive into the protoss economy was ballsy, can't believe it worked.

such as it could mean human poo / feces lol.
so when you say it sounds "sick" i had to laugh again, you're like
butter on a roll this video bro lmao
holy crap, no, this has to be dark, I only believe that dark could hit that prism trying to hide in the dead space with ravager biles.
That first game was insane wow
at 35:00 he could go lurker or get infestors + lurkers. that would be a great combo. he's got 1500 gas at 35:35 or he did before spending it
thanks cpt, was just desperately looking for something to watch
"The age old question that all high-school boys ask each other, are you a roach man or are you a hydra man" 😂😂😂oh Captain my Captain
I don't even play Starcraft, I just watch to be called friends, family and other creatures of the sea.
Hydras?! Not cope?! iDontBelieveit!!

herO's games - wall at nat not closed till 3:27, no problem. My games - wall at nat no closed by 1:57, hello six zerglings.

Mass Hydra+ling+lurk= Broodwar move
ive been telling since 2017 that Dark is the most fun player to watch... pulling insane tricks and strategies...
"beating each other with more stupid stuff"
Is it really dark and hero this time though??
What does microbial shroud do? I forget
reduces incoming damage from air
Hydras are underestimated. I wish they had a comeback. Why is nobody doing hydradrops for example? 8 hydras behind the mineralline should kill about 18 workers in 5 seconds. Doesnt hat sound like its worth it? The cheesiest man should give it a shot i think ; ) Pleeeease?

great game so far
microbial shroud + hydras > carriers any days. Losing half the damage then applying armor is way too much for the meager interceptors base damage.
lets GOOOOOOO
33:20😂😂😂
Dark is the swarm
"he makes it work, so im not going to complain"... after hes been complaining for 5 mins straight...lmao
In an other univers, where you are not married and Im gay, I would have married you.

Dark is the most interesting of the top zergs
Hero is fero, but Dark is fark
it's so funny when protoss runs out of cash for interceptors
Dark is not on fire he is too chill
is not magician... its just zerg ;D
My bet is that's 2 AIs playing
protoss imba forever
I watch and Still somehow I'm bored AF. Just seems like watching a jank fest OVER and OVER and OVER.
Not noticeably different from "surprise random bane bust" OOOHHHHH....such skill much thought....
It's not Dark vs Hero, is it? You are not Harstem, are you?
It annoys me when he zooms in and doesnt zoom back out.
