Interesting the limited anchorage. It seems costly to sail around pending a spot. I was over in Astoria Oregon a week or so ago. I counted eleven ships at anchor in line at the mouth of the Columbia River waiting their turn for the pilot to take them up river to take on cargo. That's most I've ever seen there at one time.
General question: house forward, house aft, what are the advantages, disadvantages, or is it fashion? What can/should I read to learn more? Thanks for the great videos!
House aft allows you to have more room for cargo as the engine is aft. In the larger containerships it is too far back to see, hence the forward house.

You don’t need to cook up conspiracy theories to explain this stuff. It’s been going on every day since the beginning of the industrial revolution. A lot of people are kind of clueless about how our modern way of living is so dependent on engineering technology, and the foibles there of.
