Thanks for ABA action. I am always entertained by ABA play. I have a ton of trouble beating the computer with ABA teams using Action PC. I started project with Washington Capitols. They cannot win for me. Played about a half of season.
Thanks, D C. I thought the Nets would have no issues with the Pacers, but Bobby "Slick" Leonard outcoached me in this one. I still look at the Nets' roster and wonder how they pulled off that finals win over the Nuggets. I guess anything's possible if you have the Doctor. 🏀
Loved this era - Dr Dunk and I remember Gus Johnson went to ABA before retiring I remember seeing him do a Throw Down with the Pacers like he was reliving his youth. Always tried to find footage of it but could not even in Gus Highlight reels. I once went to Nassau coliseum To See Artis and Dan Issel with Kentucky prior to Dr J coming from Virginia. The Nets had a good forward Carter I think.
Honeycomb, a tremendous athlete and player in his prime, was a scrappy version of his former self by the time he was a Pacer. It was great for him to join Mel, Freddie and Rajah and contribute to a championship club following a great NBA career. 🏀
Rod, I will be in Lake 'Big Ego' this weekend, however, I don't know what the schedule is so far...hope we can catch up either Friday or Saturday...will let you know...I'm playing some ABA Strat...having some fun with that...
Rod I tried to leave a comment on another vid Barry Here from AZ - Did you ever hear of RGI games in the late 60s and early 70s Games Like Oscar Robertsons Pro Basketball, Vince Lombardis game and Gil Hodges Pennant Fever - I playedf those before turning to APBA and Strt O matic , Negamco for ABA etc?
I've heard about Oscar's game (and others) but those games lack individual player cards and are considered "strategy games." Those games (similar to today's Basketball Strategy) don't appeal to me as much. I'd love to see a video on those games, though. 🏀
Hey Rod, I watched a preview of a New dice Basketball game called “Bank Shot Basketball “ by SSG Games. Let me know what you think when you view it, Very similar to the other game they have. Take care
I have looked at some of those TH-cam videos of Bank Shot as well. It looks like a smooth playing game with the card flipping and no dice. I usually like a dice based game but this card flipper already shows more potential than Statis Pro. The key factors for this game to be a great one are (1) an accurate ball distribution system and (2) accurate stats in all categories in addition to (3) fun (of course). I looked at one of the earlier box scores posted on the SSG page on Facebook for Bank Shot (from April or May) and the assists, steals and block shots were far below league averages. If those were accurately tabulated that would be a concern for me. Otherwise, I understand the "buzz" about a new game that appears to have taken some of the features of, say, Statis Pro and SSG (his other game) and attempted to make a better game out of it. I'll have to look closer into it to render a truly accurate opinion of the game. 🏀
@@redfanrod Im very skeptical like Ive said all along, The Action Cards are limiting the stat distribution and the ball distribution, I have yet to see a full game demo so until I do I will reserve any judgement until I see a full game. I don’t mind the cards for Ball distribution, But everything else has to include a dice roll for a realistic feel and stat distribution. Im still a huge fan of the HOOPS game engine over anything else Ive played. Thanks Rod, Keep in touch
