I am proud that I have his surname, every now and then, people ask me what is Dragan Dzajic to me, sometimes I joke that he is my grandpa and I get some stuff for free, like a free bus ride when controllers see my surname.
Growing up in UK as a boy in 60s playing in the park or at school kids wanted to be Charlton greaves Pele etc..but me I wanted to be this guy...and tried to play his way. My first hero...

Great great player one of my favourite players when i was growing up. Made it look easy great movement and balance the most skillful player in europe.
For the curious ones, he is the 3rd Red star's star, other ones are Rajko Mitić, Dragoslav Šekularac, Vladimir Petrović, Dragan Stojković and of course Golden generation of 1991.

He was great because he was an excellent dribbler and goal scorer. Look at his dribbling skills so fluid and easy. You could even say he played in the Brazilian style. They play a beautiful game like they are dancing. Wonderful ball handling skills and beautiful goals and all very smooth and they make it look so easy. Dzajic was that kind of player. Difficult to defend against because he was so good at improvisational play.
And my other favorite player was Piksi, otherwise known as Dragan Stojkovic. Great player!
The captain of the team and he gave great goals and ran up and down the field so quickly like a racehorse. Brilliant player!
Dzajic was on top only as a crosser .Half of his driblings were needless .He always retarded the action. He doesn.t get close to Stojkovic .

Not really. Croatian team is the best by far. There is no player in other ex Yugoslavian countries that could play in Croatian firs 11 except Pjanic and maybe Ilicevic. And even them would probably start on a bench.

@@koniggoldroger7781 only Oblak could play right now, but not before 2020. Subasic was just fantastic at the world cup and one of the best players of the tournament . Milinkovic Savic couldn't play because Modric and Rakitic are better. Dzeko is not better than Mandukic and he is 34 so he is too old. Kolasinac could play but i don't think he would improve Croatia very much.

In a frendly match in Beograd in 1969 Pele created the fake legend of Dzajic by saying that he is the most natural player l have seen. In 2003 in his List the only yugoslavian was Shuker. What was the Euro 68 ? Full mediocrity ! Only 4 teams who played twice ,and Dzajic had the luck to score 2 goals . In 1974 Germany he was a shame ,In Yugoslavia 1976 smth better .Susic and a number of yugo players are absolutly better than him. Dzajic was on top only As a crosser, He had only a standard of ball touch ,only a standard of mediocre dribling. Against Baresi Maldini he could.t get the ball,and not dribble them, like Stojkovic or Savicevic did .
