    One of the best unreleased songs from Brian Wilson.

    It's really something the way their voices blend so harmoniously together in typical Beach Boys fashion thanks to Brian's Four Freshmen influence. 😂 😅

    I heard "Stevie" first in the Trinidad Cassette and this version is much more clear and "better produced(?)" Thanks for sharing this with us. I love peeling back layers of The Beach Boys through the good times and the difficult. The Wilson Brothers, Al, and the cousin have been the heart of the band I've felt so close to my entire life. They have come a long way from my first listen to "Shut Down" in 1963 and they have remained my Favorite Group for a life time!

    Great edit great mix. Brian and Dennis prob the two most talented and brilliant in the group. Brian has many unreleased tracks. You are so kind to put this up and a master.

      Carl is team MVP as far as performance and execution but Brian and Dennis are the artists.

      @@TheChadTI In a funny way I could see Carl writing completely different but still good music should he not have been inspired by his siblings (mainly brian). Feel flows is one of my favorites by the group

      Carl’s solo albums in the 80s are surprisingly bland, which is unfortunate.

      I had not thought of it that way. But, upon rehearing "Stevie" I heard "Love You" coming through loud and clear. Maybe a little touch of "Airplane" can be noticed here. Great insight on your part. Thank you!

    I never gave much thought to these sessions because the name "The Cocaine Sessions" doesn't make me think of quality. Turns out I was missing out on one of Brian's best unreleased songs

    • @nickb5371
      @nickb5371 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The video eludes to the song being a part of the "Cocaine Sessions" which I am unsure of... that being said these sessions will probably not get an official release or be on a box set due to the scenario created in which Brian and Dennis sat in a room eating burgers and doing coke, the fact that it's only 2/5 members and only known through drugs (sadly) it will most likely not be released or won't be any time soon

    • @nickb5371

      On TH-cam there are multiple versions of the cocaine sessions differing by quality... I suggest the one that shortens and refines the sound to center it around the songs

    Very interesting outtake. Is this a song written for Stevie Nicks to record with Fleetwood Mac, or is it about Brian having a secret crush on Stevie Nicks? The room/mix sounds similar to the Dennis "My Dianne" demo, and the "Cocaine Sessions" legend is a little flaky on when/where these songs were recorded.

    • @squirrelguy2195
      @squirrelguy2195 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Brian wrote it and it indeed is about him having a crush on Nicks. Dennis also produced the track.

      @@Blinki18284 nice! This is my first time hearing that song, I really vibe with it. I’m a turtles fan but have yet to check out much of the post-breakup music. Mark Volman actually used to hang around in the crew of musicians that Brian Wilson associated with circa 1966, but apparently Volman doesn’t like to talk much about it according to an interview. There are a couple photos of them together.
