I swear the media will make anything a damn story. Caleb Williams farts and the media will report the aroma was generational🤣_ 99.9% of what Jaylen said was extremely positive and endorsing the young man at the same time he's a vet that has played at a high level and has competed year after year against quarterbacks like Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers and Jared Goff what's wrong with him sending the rookie a little message that this is the NFL and with all that hype you have to prove yourself pretty much just saying "to whom much is given much is required!"

You get weapons for fields after all this time just to trade for a rookie QUARTERBACK

    • @JohnAC4

Because if you keep fields who we know needs everything perfect to succeed. You can’t do that if you pay him after this coming season. all this was, is JJ reaffirming that this was a 10 to 12 win team if they kept fields. because the bears had 7 wins last year, even though they had three historic 4th quarter collapses, blowing a 21 point lead vs denver, a 13 point lead with 3 minutes left vs the lions, and another 10 point lead late into the 4th quarter vs the browns. this team was in position to win 10 games last year, and they just upgraded 4 key positions with keenan, swift, byard and the new center, plus they added depth. and they still have a top 10 pick besides caleb. so hes just saying, "if you are as good as everyone claims, and we just gave up 2 to 3 first round picks plus multiple 2nds, 3rds,4ths or 5ths for you. then you better led us to no less than 11 or 12 wins. because thats how good our roster is, and if you cant, you are a bust and we should have kept justin and the haul of picks."
as a packers fan, im glad the bears decided to not take a massive haul that most likely would have included another top 5 pick next year, and instead went with an emo that struggled vs any good defense he faced his entire college career. a guy that has all of the same exact flaws as fields. he sucks at reading defense. hes plays off schedule way too much. he constantly fumbles and gets sacked/hit. hes terrible when facing good defenses that apply pressure. and he constantly misses the short easy throws just like he did at his pro day when he was off target on 3 different 10 yard routes, even though he wasnt in pads, throwing to his own guys, with no defensive pressure, doing a routine hes practiced for a month straight, and he still looked bad on several easy short throws. gonna laugh so hard when the bears regress(even though this team should win 11+ games and be in the playoffs), because the bears are gonna bear.

Jaylon should or needs to understand the NFL is a business. It took Justin 3 seasons to win 10 games, with an administration that did not pick him. It should be understood they weren’t going to let a number one draft pick with a stacked quarterback class and risk their jobs on a mediocre quarterback. It’s not wise to create tension in the locker room with your new QB just because you like the old one. Players get traded… the ink is barely dry on his contract extension.

I’m really not sure what Johnson is trying to say. I get the locker room loved him and how tough he was, but let’s be real, he was improving too slowly for this team to want to commit long term money. The whole notion that they could’ve moved on from him if if doesn’t work out is loser mentality. That’s exactly how they got in a position to draft Justin in the first place. Bears believe Caleb Williams is more talented, otherwise they wouldn’t trade Justin. So it’s an upgrade on the most important position in the league. If Caleb even wins 6 games this year, that would be more than in any year Justin played

You can't put a quarter tank of gas in a car and expect to drive cross country. That's exactly what they did with Justin, they gave him very little to work with his first two seasons here. His last season here he threw for nearly 3,000 yards and nearly 20 touchdowns in a season where he missed four games. His only options this year were Moore and Kmet, and they both had career seasons.

When Keyshawn speaks, its as if I was speaking. This whole Caleb Willuams thing seems too rigged. Something sbout it rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Even the giving away of Fields for nothing seems manipulated to satisfy a narrative that he is horrible, which he is not. But the most important thing Keyshawn said is the players in the locker room know what the real problems are and they know that Fields was not the problem. Ryan Poles set Fields up to fail engineering his rebuild on Fields getting punished due to horrible offensive lines and receivers never really committing to nurture the high draft pick Fields and having used him up, quickly gets him out of town so that he cannot be a threat to beat out Williams in a fair competition
