  • You’ve probably forgotten about, or at best never heard of, Kissing the Pink. I am here to explain to you their history and their music in an over-exaggeratedly negative manner. Everything I say contradicts itself. You are probably better off reading the Wikipedia page, but that wouldn’t be nearly as fun, y’know?

honestly almost everything comes from the Jeff Grote unofficially-official fansite. I am impressed at the information offered and how the site is still maintained. Thank you Jeff and company, what a website

ngl I wrote this script a year ago and can’t remember where some of the info was sourced, but this should be just about everything

Mmmmm.. I take your points and respect that you're more than entitled to have your own opinion BUT... the 1990's KTP were absolutely fantastic. Being there when Sugarland was performed live was absolutely amazing The lights ,the sound and the band members having a great time. Me and my friends (around 20 of us) were lucky enough to see them 5 times- great memories :) If you're not keen on KTP have you tried The Fall and The Birthday Party from the early 80's period? Now they were "quirky" ;)

I’m sure seeing them live with friends back in their prime was a good time, and despite this video, I do genuinely want to see them live. Have not checked out those bands yet, I’ll have a listen sometime :)

One Step is my morning alarm ringtone. Having therefore heard this song many times, i NEED to bring up its similarity to Robbie Williams' hit single Rock DJ. Not fun :(

😃 on the What Noise album subject.
It has this pompous and exaggerated production but very fashionable at that time 😃 with that kind of "gospel" vowels 😛 you have to understand that part of the spirit of KTP is this mocking, silly and exaggerated spectacularity, they liked to twist things, that was part of the spirit of the time and they knew how to capture it very well! 😃 This album is perfect for having fun playing it to boring adults, pretending to be serious while doing it and then start seeing their reactions when they say damn! what's that?? !! hahah

they are certainly good at the exaggeration but unfortunately I prefer albums I can tolerate listening to

😃 Kissing The Pink were certainly fabulous at taking the piss! Being rated as cheesy! Or unlistenable! among other things in this video reaction is living proof of it 💥😛

Hahaha! 😄 😃 well first of all Kajagoogoo might be one hit wonders but! A Flock Of Seagulls were not one hit wonders...😃 🙂 From their self named AFOS superb album they had at least 4 singles: I Ran, Space Age Love Song, Telecommunication and Modern Love Is Automatic. On their Listen album they had some singles like Wishing, Transfer Affection... In 1984 on their 4th album they had very well known singles like The More You Live The More You Love and The Story Of A Young Heart...

yeah I did not look too deeply into that because I have only ever heard one AFoS song in the wild, but turns out they had at least three songs chart in the top ten in the US, oops. either way I think my point about cheesy (yet enjoyable) new wave songs still stands
