Followed your instructions on my e53 today. I ordered cooling fan wrench but it never came so I tried it without removing the fan, it actually worked! Just finished the work today will see if it stops leaking... Thanks alot, your vid is very detailed and easy to follow!
Guys how long should take total? Mine failed after two year only of replacement and used Oem one though. I recommend you using Viton gasket they claim to last forever will try it and keep you updated.
I changed the gasket, after 3 weeks, it still leaks like hell, I took it apart again, it still leaks at the same place... What did I do wrong? Thanks a lot

Yea I did the alternator once without removing the fan. It’s doable but removing the fan makes a lot of room.

My E53 3.0 m54 engine I change oil filter gasket each two years. Any idea why keeps failing? The mechanic do it and each time cost me 300$
Nice vid! Is it necesarry to train the oil out?
No. The oil sits well below this part of the engine.
